... and that is precisely why we will never truly grasp what was swirling around inside Eve's head. 😛

Goodness gracious, honestly, if someone knows how to handle a wife, they probably know how to handle kids too, right? 😬

... and that is why we will probably never truly understand what was going through Eve's mind at that moment. 😛

Oh, I think I get it. It’s like, she was just thinking... why should anyone tell me what I can or can't do? It's kind of like how most women act right before they go and cause a massive scene. 😁

And if it were an apple stuffed in a pig?
🙄

Well, I suppose your soul will be suffering in eternal hellfire forever and ever! Honestly, Satan seems like quite the creative type, so he’ll probably have little demons circling you constantly, mocking you just for being a woman. 😁

Wait, an apple inside a pig? 🙄

Actually, I think roasted pork with a squeeze of pink lemonade sounds pretty tasty, especially since it helps prevent heartburn later on. As for the apple, it isn't really for eating, but rather to keep the pig's mouth propped open so it cooks more evenly and beautifully.

So, what’s the big deal, really? I suppose people grumble about this not necessarily because they are believers, but just because they are women. Honestly, it feels like such a futile struggle when the very foundation of the faith rests on Eve's little mishap with the apple and the serpent. I mean, as long as time exists, there will probably always be someone poking fun at us because of it. She really should have been a bit more careful, I guess—that apple really did cause a mess! Women, at least, earned their exile from the Garden because they were the ones who tripped things up, whereas Adam and all the men were kicked out through no fault of their own, so where does that leave us? Who actually feels sorry for us or shows any empathy? Nooo, not at all! It's always "oh, the patriarchy this" or "the patriarchy that." It all comes back to that single piece of fruit. If it had been a slice of ham, some lamb, or even just a nice veal shank cooked under a spit, maybe we could talk! But an apple? It was just such a silly mistake by Eve. And, I suppose, by all her daughters too.

Honestly, it doesn't even necessarily have to be a democratic bomb; I mean, as long as it was bought with democratic money, I suppose that's all that matters. 🤔

He really seems like your textbook bully, doesn't he?

I mean, when he promises he won't hit you but instead wants to love you and pamper you, I am almost certain he's totally bluffing!

But, when he threatens to absolutely wreck that woman like some wild guy from a small Midwestern town, well, I guess he isn't bluffing then.

analogbear5 said:The election didn't happen, and honestly, all this endless bickering over šbbkbb deserves its own damn thread.

I'm more interested in what's happening right now.

Putin has made it incredibly clear that he isn't bluffing. I suppose you have to be pretty relaxed—maybe even a bit reckless—to dismiss his stance as just more šbbkbb, though I’d say it's actually something much more serious than that.😉

Personally, I tend to believe him; I really do feel that he isn't playing games and that he might actually be prepared to pull the trigger on some tactical move, no matter how crazy it seems.

Now, I'm certainly not suggesting that doing something like that would actually help his cause, but still...

analogbear5 said:Since we're already talking nuclear weapons—what do you think the Chinese or Indians are actually thinking when they hear the Russians leaning into that kind of rhetoric?

Well, talking big is one thing, but I suppose the real issue here is the precedent being set. The rules of engagement that Russia establishes right now could very well apply to a future conflict involving China and Russia too. I mean, who cares about Taiwan if you're being offered half of Russia? If Russia actually decides to deploy a tactical nuke, everything really comes down to how the Americans respond; if the response is lukewarm, things could get quite interesting, I guess.

There is already a dedicated thread specifically for that stuff, so go ahead and argue about whether or not someone's gonna push the button over there instead ☕

Well, if you look closely, nuclear weaponry is actually right there in the thread title itself. Plus, I guess it's hard to ignore when all the major global players are pointing to it as a genuine, looming threat.

velvetbadger11 said:Oh, I am quite certain you won't be writing about a nuclear war.

I have to say, I don't quite see things that way. I guess my take is that Putin possesses this specific mindset where he simply cannot stomach defeat, and honestly, it seems more likely he'd resort to nuclear options rather than actually retreating. It feels like his whole modus operandi from the very beginning has been that if brute force isn't working, then perhaps not enough force has been applied yet.

Maybe at the start of the conflict, people thought those surrounding him would never let him touch those nuclear weapons, but I suppose we can probably forget about that now, since the people in his inner circle seem even more unpredictable than he is.

At this rate, maybe we should just start calling in bomb threats on planes to get some attention.🤣

So, you decide to walk away from our affection and sign the divorce papers with a clear conscience. Then, you just pin all the blame on those puppets of yours out in the borderlands.

Even if that happened, it still wouldn't settle the situation in Crimea, since it's already been annexed by Russia.

Theoretically speaking, of course. But if we’re being realistic, I suspect the American government wouldn't even get involved at all.

In my humble opinion, Milorad Dodik could probably just declare independence whenever he felt like it without anyone lifting a finger. I suspect nobody would actually start a war over him; instead, it seems more likely that the Canadians and Americans would just end up bickering over whatever territory is left behind.

Joshua Myers432 said:What are you talking about with the Su-25? Maybe if we're talking about the later Su25T variant. The A-10 is light years ahead; this Russian tin can is basically just a slightly tweaked WW2-era jet fighter. It’s the textbook definition of Soviet doctrine: quantity over quality. That mindset belongs in the 1960s.

Exactly! I suppose those German engineers really knew their stuff when they were designing the A-10.

Roger Campbell3 said:Knowing the Russians, that sounds completely unrealistic to me.
Russia would sign a peace treaty tomorrow if it meant securing exactly what they hold right now. Previously, they wanted Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donbas, and Kharkiv—on top of ensuring Ukraine stays out of NATO (which was the stated reason for the invasion, though we all know imperial hunger is the real driver).
Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered to forgo NATO membership, but the Russian response was essentially: "Great, Ukraine has shown its willingness"—which translates to: "Now hand over the territory." Those hungry Russian bears just want their fill.
If we're being realistic: Russia withdraws from Ukraine, pays reparations, provides guarantees, and Ukraine commits to staying out of NATO.
But Russia won't move without guarantees—which really means they'll just wait 5 to 10 years before invading again. They just want a breather to regroup and strengthen.
Anyone remember Chechen history?😛They lost the first war, withdrew, and then attacked again a few years later to win the second.
As for the Ukrainians, if they could just stop being so uncompromising about Crimea... but unfortunately, that ship sailed a long time ago, and Russia isn't about to retreat because of the Black Sea Fleet.

Wait, what Black Sea Fleet are we even talking about? I guess I might have missed a bit of the context there! 😬

Anyone with actual backbone or an independent opinion was either forced out of the country or thrown behind bars long ago.
The real question is: does anyone know which agency is actually carrying out these arrests? Is it the FSB, the FSO, or some other outfit? That’s the specific detail I’m looking for.

Those folks who were complaining that he wasn't being decisive enough 👍

Well, I suppose they were only complaining because that's exactly how he told them to act.

Now, Putin might not exactly be the greatest chess player on the planet, but in Russia, he’s still very much a Grandmaster.🤣

I just saw some rumors floating around Telegram suggesting that Putin might be moving to arrest certain members of the Duma. If that actually turns out to be true, I guess we could be looking at some serious chaos unfolding across Russia.
