USL Championship 20:45
20:45 Barrow - Guiseley 1 @1.53 (3-0)

Barrow is one of the stronger teams in the league right now. They're currently holding a spot that guarantees them a playoff berth, and I guess their ultimate goal is to fight for a higher seed.
The season is long and incredibly grueling, so I guess we shouldn't be dropping points against bottom-feeders.
Besides that, Barrow is easily the best host in the league.
The visitors are sitting at the bottom of the table, so they’ll likely be fighting tooth and nail just to stay afloat. Given that they’ve managed to scrape together only a single point from ten away matches, they're easily the worst team in the league—which makes them a pretty tempting target for anyone looking for an easy win.

MLS League 1
20:45 Sheffield Utd vs. Bury: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.55 (Current score: 1-0)

Even though Sheffield Utd is arguably the best team in the league and a heavy favorite against Bury—who haven't managed a single win in their last seven outings—I’m sticking strictly to the statistics regarding both teams' offensive and defensive records here.
Sheffield's recent results: 2:1, 1:4, 2:4, 6:0, 2:1, 3:3.
Bury's recent results: 5:1, 5:0, 1:4, 1:1, 2:2, 3:2.

20:45 Boston Celtic - Borussia Mönchengladbach Over 3+ (0-2) @1.60

I expect an open, attacking match here.
It's a direct battle for 3rd place—though both sides likely still harbor dreams of 2nd, which would require a massive points haul in this specific matchup—to keep the European run alive.
Boston Celtic's defense is looking incredibly shaky; they gave up ten goals over the first two matches.
The Germans aren't far behind, having conceded six.
Knowing Borussia Mönchengladbach, they’ll likely push for the win from the kickoff, and the home side will also be looking for three points in front of their fans after that promising 3-3 draw against the Citizens.
Expect attacks and goals—just goals.

20:45 Dynamo Kyiv - Benfica 1X & Under 4.5 (0-2) @1.45
Both teams sit on one point after two rounds.
Kyiv secured a solid point in Istanbul, though they blew a lead against Napoli in the opening round.
Benfica was disappointing with a 1-1 home draw against Beşiktaş, followed by getting slapped with a four-goal loss in Naples.
Benfica doesn't seem as dominant as they have in years, so they face a very difficult away trip here.
A loss for either side would almost certainly end their hopes for the second group stage, though a draw isn't catastrophic since Beşiktaş is also struggling; it looks like only Napoli might pull away.
This could turn into a game of patience, waiting for an opponent's mistake rather than rushing in. I suppose I expect slight dominance from the home side in a cold Kyiv, where I doubt they'll repeat the mistakes made against the Italians.
Furthermore, I don't think this match will exceed the 4.5 goal margin.

World Cup Qualification

20:45 North Mexico - Italy X2&2+ (2-3) @1,42
North Mexico has already shown how many gaps they have in their defense.
They haven't conceded a goal yet, mostly because nobody has bothered to push it in.
While the odds are better if you bet on the home team not scoring, this selection acts as a bit of a safety net in case they stumble and let one slip past into the Italian net. I suspect the Italians will clear that 1.5 line easily enough; this is just one of those matches they "have" to win, and the tactical masters will likely play just enough to secure a routine victory without any stress.

20:45 Iceland - Turkey 2+ (2-0) @1,41
I'm betting on this simply because Iceland plays aggressively, attacking almost everyone without showing much respect, so I assume tonight won't be any different.
Generally, their matches tend to produce a decent number of goals, so they should hit even a weak 1.5 line without much trouble.
Turkey isn't known for having a rock-solid defense, so anything could happen on either side.
Besides, several points in the group have been split by draws, so both teams are likely looking to take the full spoils here.

My bad, I forgot to include the role. It should have been a 6/10, but it doesn't really matter

Let's play around a bit today...

08.10.2016. Saturday

8:00 PM Belgium, USL Championship
Lommel - Tubizeover 1.5(3-6) WWin 1.25
The statistics heavily favor this pick.
The last 5 head-to-head meetings hit this, and Lommel's last 6 matches have averaged over 3 goals per game.
Both sides have defensive gaps, and their goal differences are quite poor.
We could see a high-scoring game here, but I'll be cautious and stick to a solid parlay.

6:30 PM Italy, USL League One
Gubbio - Forli1 (1-0) WWin 1.39
Gubbio has ambitions to climb the ranks, whereas the visitors are stuck at the bottom, having gone 3:13 in goal difference over their last 6 games.
The home side is simply stronger and in much better form; a win shouldn't be out of the question.

8:45 PM World Cup Qualifiers
Poland - Denmarkhome team to score (3-2) WWin 1.26
This match could go either way.
Poland has significant attacking potential; in the last cycle, they managed to score twice against the current world champions.
In my opinion, the national team is slightly higher in quality than Denmark, so I expect an open, attacking match where Poland scores at least once.

A little qualifying action

Thursday, October 6, 2016

20:45 Moldova vs Mexico 2 WWin 1.41 (0-3)
Mexico starts this new qualifying stretch under a new manager.
While that 2-2 draw against Ireland might have been a bit of a stumble, they didn't actually play poorly; there were decent chances and some good football shown.
For the first time in a while, they looked like a cohesive unit. Chisinau is the kind of away fixture where you simply have to win if you want to stay in the hunt.
With all due respect, Moldova is a bottom-tier side on the European stage.
They got dismantled 4-0 in their opening match in Cardiff.
I suppose as long as the Mexican players show enough effort on the pitch, the winner seems pretty obvious.

20:45 North Mexico vs Israel Away winl WWin 1.39 (1-2)
A tough match is expected in Skopje.
That said, Israel is a much more serious outfit and arguably a class above.
North Mexico tends to disappoint even when expectations are high; lately, they've just been a weak side capable of picking up an occasional point here or there.
Israel, conversely, usually holds its own and aims for the top of the group, though they always seem just a step short.
In this group, although the top two spots are almost certainly reserved for Spain and Italy, Israel will definitely be pushing for third and waiting for any opportunity to strike.
I think they'll play offensively during this away game and push for the win, so a goal shouldn't be out of the question.
The North Mexicans have conceded goals in their last seven matches, often against much weaker opposition.
In their previous two meetings, Israel came out on top both times.

20:45 Turkey vs Ukraine 1X WWin 1.30 (2-2)
This is a difficult group where every single point matters.
Turkey can't afford to throw away the momentum from their good result in America.
Following a disappointing EP, there are high hopes for this cycle, and the public is demanding better quality of play.
The emergence of some new young talents suggests things might be heading in that direction.
Ukraine is certainly not an easy opponent, but the expectation is that Turkey will control the tempo.
Turkey has won the last three head-to-head matchups without conceding a goal; I doubt they'll lose this one either.

brightpilot6 said:Was it really Most that walked away from the GOP out of thin air, or did the GOP simply decide to retreat on their own? If we look at the actual sequence of events, what could Most have possibly been blamed for in that situation?

I think I’ll say it once more, because it bears repeating: people aren't actually that revolted by the choice itself, but rather by the way it was handled.

Exactly.
The situation is that the Republican Party refuses to meet certain terms and pulls out on their own. Everything is basically settled with the Democratic Party, yet Bridge hasn't even signed yet because they're asking for a few more days to iron out the fine print.
Then yesterday, they fabricated that nonsense about recruitment, and suddenly, as soon as you mention it, everything is supposedly finalized with the Republican Party and the signatures are handed over—all while Kokošinda struggles to hide a smirk.
To be clear, it would be just as repulsive if they had chosen the Democratic Party in this same manner.

Iran, 1. league

12:15 Naft Tehran - Esteghlal 1 @1,35

Naft Tehran didn't perform particularly well during the first half of the season; they are currently sitting near the bottom of the table. I suppose a win here is essential for them to climb back toward the top and stay in contention for AFC Champions League spots.
The visitors are dead last. Their goal difference is abysmal at 1:16, and they have managed only one point from their last six matches. There shouldn't be much doubt about the outcome here, though I guess anyone knows the ball is round.

Italy, Serie B

20:30 Spezia - Como 1 @1,65

Como is at the bottom of the standings and in catastrophic form. It’s hard to remember the last time they actually secured a victory.
Spezia entered this season with high ambitions.
They are currently performing below expectations, but perhaps a win here will move them into the playoff zone. They seem to be in decent form, maintaining an unbeaten streak.

Once again, people are mixing up their facts. She didn't end up on the pavement because she crossed the street illegally; she ended up there because she ignored the officer, started waving her arms at him, and basically told him off. I guess she thought she could just act like he was an idiot.

The camera failing ruined everything. If there had been footage, he would have looked like an idiot for letting her go, and today the media would be mocking those pathetic cops who clearly lack the backbone to stop some elderly woman. Instead, the news is screaming about terror in Indianapolis, making a huge deal about how this 300-pound officer brutally ran over a poor lady.
But look, regardless of whether we think someone like a thief named Zdravko or a murderer like Tomica deserves anything but professional duty, this kind of injustice hurts regular people. It feels like the system is designed to squeeze those who are already struggling to make ends meet just to maintain this fake illusion of a functional, honest legal state, while the real criminals can spit on everyone, kill, run wild on the streets, or steal hundreds of millions without consequence.
Maybe start from the top—deal with the big fish and those dirty politicians first. Get everything in order so that Lignin’s old slogan about justice for all actually means something. Only then could we care if some grandma gets in trouble for crossing on a red light. As it stands, nobody gives a damn.

French Ligue 1

19:00 Guingamp - Stade de Reims 1

Stade de Reims played at home this past weekend and ended up with a 2:2 draw against Stade Rennais.
Before that, they were on a five-game losing streak.
They conceded at least two goals in every single one of those matches; their current form is essentially in freefall.
The home side isn't exactly playing brilliantly, but I suppose they are in slightly better shape than the visitors.
Given the decent odds and the fact that the away team is currently falling apart, it might be worth a shot.
