I found that pretty interesting too, so I did a quick search on
Horses get less than three hours of sleep a day, but they don't do it all at once. It’s more like several short bursts lasting anywhere from 3 to 6 minutes. They actually only lie down for about two hours total. They mostly sleep standing up because it's just easier for them. The thing is, a horse uses more energy while lying down than when it's standing. When they lie down, their heavy body puts a massive amount of pressure on them, especially regarding their chest, lungs, and heart. Maintaining circulation and breathing requires more energy in that position than when the horse is upright. Plus, staying balanced is easy when you have four legs instead of two, I guess.

That derby is simply in a different league. It’s a mistake to compare these otherwannabe derbies to playing an away game at some local spot near an old pottery factory in the suburbs.
Rapid - Salzburg Portland - Seattle Everton - Liverpool Arsenal - United PSG - Marseille PAOK - Olympiacos Ajax - PSV Bayern - Borussia LA Galaxy - LAFC Atletico - Real Milan - Napoli Sevilla - Barcelona
19:00 Cleveland Browns - Skenderbeu 1 @1,15 (2-0) The gap in quality here is just too wide; anything other than a home win would be a massive shock. The Cleveland Browns are in great shape, coming off a 1-1 draw against CSKA in the league, and they recently dismantled Sporting CP right in the middle of Lisbon. On the other hand, Skenderbeu looks like a semi-pro outfit based on what we saw from them recently.
19:00 Augsburg - Partizan 1 @1,60 (1-3) This looks like a decent value play. While Partizan isn't exactly a pushover in this competition, they are clearly outclassed compared to the hosts, who need to grab three points after that disaster at San Mames. Augsburg needs this win to rebuild some confidence after a string of poor performances, so I'm leaning toward the home side.
21:05 Liverpool FC - Sion 1X @1,20 (1-1)/I] Even though anything can happen with Liverpool FC—and even if you consider the tired old cliché about "English interest" in this tournament—I don't think they should lose at home to Sion.
21:05 Krasnodar - Gabala 1 @1,30 (2-1) Krasnodar is a very solid side with significant attacking potential. They lost their opening match in Dortmund, so there is a huge imperative to win here. Gabala has been a sympathetic underdog, climbing to unexpected heights since the qualifying rounds, but I suspect they will eventually run out of steam here. Krasnodar is simply more experienced and stronger; I doubt they'll fail to take all three points.
8:45 PM BAT Borisov - Roma 2 (3-2) While I don't think BAT Borisov will suffer a humiliation quite as bad as their last Champions League outing, I am still convinced they’ll finish dead last in the group. It wouldn't be surprising if they end up with zero points. They have enough strength to keep winning their domestic league (even if Dinamo Minsk is starting to look like a legitimate threat), and they have the experience to bully smaller teams in the qualifiers, but I suspect Roma should handle this comfortably and take all three points today. BAT doesn't look solid enough to me for matches at this level, and Vučica desperately needs points before facing Bayer Munich. Given the circumstances, I think the odds on an away win are quite good.
8:00 PM Jong Ajax - FC Oss Over 3 (2-2) I am sticking with this option. The Ajax youngsters called for this specific bet last week; it’s rare to see two unders in a row. Oss is a significantly weaker side; they just gave up 8 goals over their last two matches.
20:00 Buffalo - New Orleans 1 (1-2) The second-place home team is facing the 20th-placed side on the table. After two consecutive draws, I guess it’s about time Buffalo picks up a win. They definitely need it if they want to secure promotion to the First Division. What makes this pick easier for me is that New Orleans hasn't managed a single victory in months. On top of that, they've picked up zero points from their last four away matches while conceding four goals.
20:45 Juventus vs Frosinone +2 (1-1) After a shaky start, Juve has managed two solid results. That includes a big 1:2 away at Manchester City in the Champions League, followed by a 0:2 win against Genoa in the league. Tonight provides an ideal opportunity to extend that momentum and signal they are finally out of their slump. Based on how things have gone so far, Frosinone looks like they might struggle to stay in the top flight. They’re sitting on zero points after four rounds, so I suspect Juve will handle this routinely with the handicap.
18:30h FC Liefering - Austria Klagenfurt 3+ @1.50 (4-1) To be brief, Liefering is a side that rarely lets me down when this specific bet is on the table. In their last six matches, this hit five times. The first meeting between these two clubs this season ended 4-0 for Klagenfurt, so I guess there's no reason not to try again today.
USA, 2nd Division
20:00h Eredivisie - Jong Ajax 3+ @1.45 (2-0) It's a similar situation here; Jong Ajax is also a team I frequently back for the over 2.5 goal line. This bet has also landed at a high percentage in their recent fixtures.
Alaska is sitting at 8th place right now. A win here would help them climb the standings and potentially get back into the playoff hunt. Ford is stuck at the very bottom of the table in 20th place with only 3 points. Their away record is pretty bad, sitting at 0-0-5 with a goal differential of 1:12. Alaska is a seasoned second-division side, whereas Ford is just a newcomer from the third division. As things stand, they’ll likely be fighting for survival. Maybe a decent value play here.
Rather than Ivich's constant issuing of fines, we should probably just implement bans for people who sign up and then fail to post without any explanation. I'm talking about all other games here, obviously. That way, you actually screw over the game master, ruin their thread, and potentially mess things up for other players who might have been late to sign up. It’s not fair at all. If you signed up—whether you were joking or not—just take the damn two or three minutes per round to post your results.
They probably need to find an opening somewhere, because honestly, they aren't a bad squad. A few days ago, Milsami lost 3-1 in the Super Cup against a Sheriff side that's been looking pretty terrible this season.
Tuesday, July 21 Champions League, 2nd Qualifying Round
5:00 PM Milsami - Ludogorets 2 SS@1.60 (2-1) A tough road ahead for the Bulgarian side following that 0-1 loss at home. Even though they didn't create many clear-cut chances, they were arguably the better side on the pitch and controlled much of the play, but I guess the Moldovans managed to snatch the win regardless. Ludogorets is roughly eight times more valuable than their opponent; they are simply a much stronger squad, and I don't really see them getting knocked out this early by a minor club like Milsami. I expect them to control this match and dominate possession, while the home side will likely just park the bus to protect their lead. If they score relatively early, there might be value in the handicap, but 1.60 is probably fine.
4:00 PM Gazovik Orenburg vs. Fakel Voronezh 1 SS @ 1.60 (1-0) Gazovik had a pretty strong season last year, finishing in 5th place—just one spot shy of making the Premier League playoffs. They also managed to reach the cup semifinals, where they lost a close one to Lokomotiv. Their ambitions remain high this season; they’re definitely aiming for a top 4 finish to secure at least a playoff spot. In the first two rounds of this new season, they have a mixed record: a 2-0 home win against Kamaz followed by a 1-0 loss away at Spartak II. Fakel just moved up from the 3rd division and has started off poorly. They lost 1-0 in Tosno and then dropped a 1-3 game at home against Tomsk. Gazovik seems more experienced and is arguably the stronger side on paper. Given the home-field advantage and the decent odds, I guess it might be worth a shot.
