Is there a way to reach out to an admin privately so I don't have to broadcast my proposed new handle right here in the open?

Thanks so much in advance!

Actually, looking at the guidelines, one of the rules is that the new name should still be recognizable so people know it's me, so I suppose there isn't much point in trying to keep the new identity a secret from everyone else on the boards anyway.

I get it! In that case, can I go ahead and change from George Davis66 to -> Woolfie?

It seems you might have missed a bit of the fine print there, huh? Why don't you take another quick look through the rules?

And look, it’s not for nothing that the rules state: you decide your own level of anonymity on this board...
🙂

😁

It's a lost cause! Some people just always find a way to get what they want... Grrr Heh 😬

Have you actually been arguing with anyone since you signed up back in 2007??
And if someone were to delete all those posts of yours right now, what would happen to everyone else's entire debate??
Besides, what does "deactivate" even mean??
You set up the account yourself, so you deactivate it yourself—you stop using it, you move on, you pass away, you vanish into thin air...

Oh, come on, you know as well as I do that on this forum, even when people are actually discussing something, it usually spirals into off-topic nonsense immediately. Nobody really follows the thread; it just depends on which sub-forum you're in.

By the way, I'm a woman, and I agree with all five points—maybe I phrased my question poorly...
The real issue here is how some people abuse other users' profiles by digging through their history and then trying to bully them for things they wrote ages ago...

It’s really quite simple, there's absolutely no reason to fight or get worked up over this... Believe me, the digital world is never going to have any significant impact on your actual life.😉

Don't mention it. ☕

Why not?

I mean, what about deactivating an account, deleting posts, or stuff like that?

Honestly, these rules you guys have are just plain nonsensical...

It’s true. You eventually find a way to forgive and make peace with it. In a way, you’re just letting go of the whole situation. It lightens your soul, and honestly, it just makes things feel a lot less heavy on your mind...

Well, that was very well put. I suppose it all really boils down to the specifics of the situation and what Person B actually did to Person A in the first place.
In my view, you’re essentially just letting someone walk all over you if you keep forgiving them for the exact same behavior, over and over again, indefinitely. It becomes a cycle of self-humiliation, really.

Then again, life isn't always black and white—there are all sorts of different scenarios to consider, and reconciliations can be quite complex too.

A truly noble individual will always extend an olive branch, yet they’ll never go so far as to strip themselves of their dignity. On the other hand, Hulja is more than happy to grovel, but you won't see them actually making any effort to make amends.

I have to ask, though—what kind of reconciliation are we even talking about here? 🙂

steelsurfer74 said:So, I find myself facing a bit of a dilemma here. I’m currently sixteen years old, standing about 5'11", and weighing in at roughly 165 pounds. Now, I can't help but wonder—is this actually an ideal weight for someone my age, or should I be looking into slimming down a bit? And if that's the case, what would be the most efficient way to go about it? Oh, and just for context, I’ve been hitting the gym consistently for about five months now.😬

Heh, so here I am, standing at 5'11" and weighing in at about 132 pounds. It’s funny how people work, isn't it? Every time I run into my buddies or even just hear some unsolicited advice from folks at the gym, they all have the same thing to say. They look me up and down and tell me, "Man, you're way too thin! You really ought to be hitting at least 155 or 160 pounds at that height." Honestly, it feels like a constant commentary on my physique. I mean, I know what they're getting at, but it's one of those things where everyone thinks they've got the perfect formula for a healthy body type.
So, they gave me the usual spiel—you know the one. "Eat smaller portions," they say. "Drink more water," they insist. It’s like they’re reading from some generic wellness pamphlet you'd find in a waiting room at a clinic in Chicago. Honestly, I just nod along, though I don't always follow the script. Personally, I've been sticking to this apple-based diet lately, but let's get one thing straight: it isn't because I'm actually trying to drop any pounds or anything. No, no. It's simply because I genuinely love apples. They're delicious! Sometimes you just find a food you enjoy, and you lean into it, regardless of what the health gurus suggest.
And another thing... those workouts you’re doing? They really matter. You have to make sure you're eating something before you hit the gym—you know, just to burn off those calories effectively. Then, once you're finished, try fasting for a bit. Just stick to water. It helps trigger those enzymes, if that makes sense. I remember when I was trying to get back in shape in Chicago, I used to obsess over this exact timing, and honestly, it made all the difference in how my body felt afterward. Definitely give it a shot! 🙂

And yeah... just don't go starving yourself out there. Seriously.
Good heavens, Matthew Scott82! Are you telling me you're actually 5'11" and weighing 203 pounds?! My goodness, that is quite the combination! 😁
