I didn't really raise my sister, so we’re pretty different people, but I love her so much. I could never dream of hurting her feelings like that by skipping her wedding just to go to some concert instead—that would be awful. 😢 No matter how cool a concert might be, a wedding is such a unique, intimate moment. Even if I usually prefer keeping things low-key and avoiding crowds, I'd much rather be "old-fashioned" than cold and selfish.

Oh my goodness, did you see the smiley face in my first post? 🙂 Please don't take everything so personally! I never questioned why you'd go to your sister's wedding, nor was I calling you out for it. All I said was that I wouldn't go to weddings.

And my sister wouldn't be offended by me because she knows those aren't really my thing, and she knows I show her how much I care in plenty of other ways. 😉

It’s not even about following tradition; it’s just about showing respect to the individual.🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

Honestly, it comes down to how you were raised and personal choice. It doesn't mean you don't respect anyone. In my family, we never did big weddings or fancy celebrations—the older folks would just hop on a bus, head down to the courthouse, sign the papers, and call it a day. Totally casual.

I didn't even go to my high school prom or my college graduation. ☕

* I spent that day watching movies instead. 😁

Look, I don't care about those old-school traditions at all. I skip weddings, christenings, everything... I've been to one wedding in my entire life, and I can't imagine ever going to another one just because the sheer level of primitive behavior at those things drives me absolutely insane.

As for my sister? I am 100% certain she isn't having a bridal shower, so I'm not losing any sleep over it.😉

lonebison37 said:I really should have just headed to the FBI headquarters in Italy back then. I had my transportation all lined up and everything. But what could I do? I had to go to my sister's engagement party instead. Mixed feelings, obviously.

Honestly, I don't think anything could ever convince me to skip a concert for someone's engagement party—even if it was my own sister. And that's assuming I even had a ride to get there in the first place! 😈

Daniel Bailey7 said:My top 3 hype bands from this year that I absolutely have to catch live...

1. Wolf Parade
2. Bloc Party
3. Editors

Honestly, if you hit the road today, you could make it to Bloc Party in Chicago tomorrow😛 and then just keep driving down to Austin for Wolf Parade.😛

I’d bet anything on Departure.🙂

boldscout72 said:Honestly, this is one of my absolute least favorite places on the planet. There are way too many Americans there, and half of them don't even know how to ski; they just show up to flaunt their brand-new Bogner gear while hogging all the lift lines. Then, once they actually decide to get on the slopes, they end up plowing straight through everyone else. If you catch them, oh well—at least you've got insurance. And don't even get me started on when they start screaming along to the latest pop hits at the top of the mountain, only to turn around and start bickering with their own relatives because someone took "their" spot. And yeah, it's right during the New Year's Eve festivities. 😁

I completely agree, which is why it’s only sitting at number three for me. Besides, those Americans in their fancy Bogner outfits wouldn't dare brave the New Year's Eve crowds anyway. 😁But man, you really have to try the strudel here. 😁

🤣

I should probably pivot to a more lighthearted, sports-talk vibe here:

My top 5 favorite ski resorts:

1. Risoul—mostly because of that crew from '98.
2. Val Thorens—for those flawless runs and the great shopping.
3. Kronplatz/Valdaora—because of the New Year's Eve vibes, the most intense and challenging slopes I've ever tackled, the food at the Elisabeth lodge, and those apple strudels at the mountain restaurant.
4. St. Johann/Flachau—just because I had such a blast skiing there once.
5. Wengen—for the chance to snap photos with Tom and Jerome Kosir. 😁

I just need some snow ASAP! 🙂
Mercury Records at Aquarius? in Music ·
Hey brightridge19, some friends of mine were at weddings this past Tuesday, so get ready for the cold at Aquarius and maybe bring a blanket just in case.. Actually, it might even come in handy as a silencer if you end up having to shoot someone 👋

My top 3 worst holidays:

1. Labor Day—mostly because I'm usually driving back from the coast and inevitably get stuck in some massive traffic jam in Los Angeles.
2. New Year's Eve—it just serves as an annual reminder of all those resolutions I failed to hit last year.😁
3. My birthday—because, let's face it, I'm just getting older every single year.

The best holidays? Any of those summer ones that fall on a Thursday so you can basically turn it into a long weekend.🙏

By the way, snow is the best!

snowjob 😍

Well, it really depends on the occasion. For a gala at the Met, I’d go with pink and glittery!😍

Oh man, just thinking about it makes me crave some hot soup. 😱

Okay, I tried it. Can you hear me now? 😁

Just kidding, though. It’s kind of pointless and I don't want you chipping my polish 😉

Still waiting for a brilliant idea to hit me for the top ten list...

And honestly? These guys have maybe three decent songs and two good music videos between them. Go ahead, shoot me... ☕

I won't, but maybe Patka and Ranko will if you don't get your act together right now, because they're already getting pretty annoyed.😁

Man, forget all those aserehehadehedehebetudehebereserebimunoubamahabian debugiandebuididipi things. This is exactly how I want my summer to feel.

So, does that mean Tom the Retriever is actually Chris? 😈

1. That big pink Hello Kitty one—perfect for the beach.
2. A small light blue Hello Kitty one, strictly for the gym.
3. An even smaller version of the light blue Hello Kitty one.
4. Just a plain peach-colored one I picked up at Target.
5. One from my buddy Ivan back in Athens, and honestly? It’s still dirty.😍

Nah, I was actually training at that one fitness center down the street.😉

I guess I just have an emotional connection to this place, what can I say? 😳

Samuel Murphy6 said:And I honestly couldn't tell you where the Highland Park neighborhood is. Is it near where your grandma lives, or over by the zoo side?

Yeah, that's definitely Highland Park. I have such fond memories there—my grandparents used to watch me when I was little, and we had swings and meadows and the whole park area to ride my bike around. Even the spot where your high school sits used to be nothing but open fields back then. 😛

If you're looking for anything actually spooky, check out the subway tunnels in downtown Chicago. They're damp, they smell terrible, and they're creepy. 🙂

Wait, what kind of charity event is it? And will there be any live music?
