I think I might just seduce him tonight... everyone keeps telling me I’ll end up having a baby tomorrow if we decide to hook up 🤣
It was only a few days ago that I experienced my first instance of someone letting me cut ahead in line during my pregnancy... and it happened at a gas station. It was actually a gentleman, probably in his 50s, which was such a stark contrast to an older woman who showed up right after me and actually tried to push her way past. 😠

I suppose one might wonder why women wouldn't show a bit more empathy toward one another in these situations.

But honestly, that gentleman really did pleasantly surprise me. 🙂
Pregnancy stories... I honestly haven't had any morning sickness at all, even though I'm carrying.

People have actually started getting on my nerves lately with those constant questions like, "So, when is the big day?"

I was at a wedding this past Saturday, and it felt like every single relative there—living or otherwise—asked me that exact same question a million times. And of course, there was all that inevitable judgment about why I even bothered showing up to a wedding in the first place, since it's winter and I chose to wear a short dress... and I'm only about ten days away from my due date.

I mean, what am I supposed to do? Just lock myself in the house until the baby arrives? 🙄

A Godmother Lara... did you pick her just because she’s loaded?! (I’m assuming she’s talking about my social circle, given what I do for a living.) 🤷)
Look, sorry everyone—I’m not exactly a devout Catholic myself (half-Muslim, actually)—but if this is just how things work in the Catholic world, then what’s even the point of baptisms or having godparents? 🤷

Alright, let's settle this again—who’s actually the richest? Doesn't matter if they're from Earth or Mars. 🤔

That is just awful.

Unfortunately, we see this kind of thing all too often here in the States.
Personally, that is the very last thing on my mind. None of our "candidates" are wealthy; we look at a million other things instead. First and foremost, we consider who these people are, how we get along with them, and what kind of relationship they will ultimately have with our child.

Money is such a shallow metric.
Honestly, it’s getting beyond annoying. Every single day, I feel like everyone is breathing down my neck, asking stuff like, "So, have you guys picked out your godparents yet? You know it's getting pretty late, right?!"

No, we had absolutely no idea... thanks for the heads-up. 🙄

It’s not like I don't already stress about it enough on my own. We just can't seem to settle on anyone, period. Maybe one day we actually will. I mean, I really wanted to have this all sorted before the baby arrives, but if it doesn't happen, it just doesn't happen.
To ensure I'm not just sharing the negative experiences, I should probably mention what has actually surprised me in a positive way.

It seems like everyone keeps telling me how beautiful I look while pregnant; they say my complexion is glowing and that I’ve actually become more attractive, even though I know quite a few women really struggle with their appearance during pregnancy😍😬

I suppose I don't mind the compliments too much, especially since I personally feel like a bit of a swollen, bloated little tank🤣
Personally, I’m not particularly worried about it... though I suppose one might doubt whether everything can truly be resolved overnight. 😁
Am I really the only one out there with a totally normal mother-in-law? And to make things even more interesting, we actually live under the same roof—we’re upstairs, and they’re on the ground floor.

I suppose I should just thank God for that luck.😁
Honestly... the silly questions just never seem to end 🙄

We’ve checked off the wedding, we’ve navigated the pregnancy... and I haven't even given birth yet, but people are already grilling me about when we might want a second child 🙂

Good grief, can't they just let me focus on getting through this first stage and finding my footing? I don't think I'll even be thinking about a second kid anytime soon 🙄
Honestly, until recently, I was feeling pretty frustrated about this too—like, what kind of pregnant woman am I if I haven't already put on 100 pounds? 🙄

I mean, seriously, I’ve been thin my entire life, so what was I actually expected to do, suddenly turn into a construction vehicle? People act so surprised when I tell them I've gained 15 pounds. 🙄

But let's be real, most of that weight went straight to my belly, a little bit to my hips, and quite a bit to my chest. 😍😁

It’s not like my arms and legs need to get thicker just because I'm pregnant.

Someone replied saying a period doesn't necessarily mean anything and that they once knew someone who stayed pregnant for three months without realizing it because they kept having "periods"... 😕 Honestly, I have my doubts about whether that pregnancy ended up being a healthy one...

I don't want to sound like a know-it-all, but like I mentioned before, those cases are extremely, extremely rare. It really isn't considered normal to have a period for three months while being pregnant.
Now, that doesn't automatically mean things took a turn for the worse, but it is certainly an outlier. I haven't heard of any woman in my circle ever experiencing a period during pregnancy, and thank God, over the last few years, there have been plenty of women expecting babies, and they're all doing fine now...
The only thing that typically happens is implantation bleeding, but even that doesn't happen to everyone. For me, personally, it wasn't 🤷
And who exactly is defining what counts as "normal" here? If we're being strictly accurate, I suppose the only thing one could reasonably call a period during pregnancy is a much lighter bout of spotting—not even a true period, really, but more like implantation bleeding. If a woman actually experiences one or two full menstrual cycles while pregnant, those are incredibly rare outliers, rather than being "normal" as you seem to suggest.
Well... I suppose the reverse wouldn't be any good either, either. 😁
I suppose there isn't much I can say other than this... we had originally intended to hold our wedding this coming spring, but then we found out we were expecting a baby, so we decided to move everything up and tied the knot at the end of last year.

And of course, people are going to claim that we only got married because I'm pregnant. It's almost as if the fact that we’ve been together for several years and had very serious intentions all along just doesn't matter to them.

It was quite frustrating to deal with at the time, though I suppose I don't really care about those comments anymore.
I’ve been heading to the restroom about 856 times a day for months now, and honestly, it’s becoming quite a struggle... 🙂
Lately, this relentless back pain has been driving me absolutely crazy—it’s almost at the point where I want to cry from pure frustration. 🙂
It’s incredibly unpredictable; one minute it’s my lower back, then it shifts to my upper spine, then it feels like my entire back is just being torn apart.
I honestly can't tell if it's going to be worse when I'm standing, sitting, or lying down. In fact, the absolute worst timing is when I finally get to settle in for the evening with my husband, we get all cozy on the couch to watch some TV, and then the real agony begins! 🙂

His hands and his massages are such a blessing, but I really feel like I shouldn't constantly pester the poor man to massage me non-stop.
Jerry Bailey47 said:I totally agree—especially at places like Chase or those DMV waiting rooms. It’s always sweltering in there, just breathing in stagnant air. You’re basically begging to pick up every virus passing through. Gross. 🤮

Oh, absolutely. I’ve actually spent quite a bit of time visiting places like that over the last month, sometimes even more than once. Since I recently got married, I had to go through the whole process of updating my legal documents and everything else, and I honestly thought the stress of it would drive me crazy. Then, when I finally get to the front of the line, some overly helpful clerk looks at me and says, "Oh, you're pregnant, you shouldn't have been waiting in line." Well, wouldn't you know it—should I have known? 🙂
Sigh, honestly, nobody even lets me cut ahead in line anymore now that my baby bump is clearly showing. People can be so incredibly rude 😠

I’m not trying to suggest that being pregnant is some kind of illness—thank God I haven't dealt with any major complications or issues—but it really is quite difficult for me to stand still for long periods in cramped, stuffy places crowded with people. There have been quite a few times where I felt like I was actually going to collapse. 🙂
Sandra Ross86 said:That seems to be the standard assumption these days. As soon as you conceive, you're expected to eat for two and pack on the pounds, otherwise people assume you aren't caring for the baby ☕. I've been feeling quite frustrated lately because I'm four months along, and since my bump isn't visible yet and I haven't gained weight, everyone assumes I'm obsessing over my figure 🙄 and that I'm somehow endangering the pregnancy. It is truly absurd how people can be.

It really is nonsense. If your metabolism is naturally such that you don't have much of an appetite, why should that have to change so drastically just because you're pregnant?
Well, I have actually started eating more now that I'm pregnant and the weight has started coming on, but by some people's standards, I'm still a very thin expectant mother. 🙄 I mean, I have a bump—what, am I supposed to suddenly balloon up everywhere else too, like my arms, legs, and face? 🙂😁
John Wilson9 said:I suppose I’m not wrong in noticing that those kinds of comments mostly come from people who are overweight. I’ve overheard them quite a bit, and while it was easier to just tune them out before I was pregnant, they still manage to raise my blood pressure every now and then. Next time, I might just suggest they get themselves some glasses, because I am certainly not lacking in the midsection department right now 🙂

From what I’ve experienced, it seems to be true. It’s almost always women with fuller figures making those remarks. I used to listen to them before I was pregnant and it really got under my skin, but now... well, let's just say it's even harder. I've always been quite thin, and now, suddenly, puff! I'm pregnant, and it feels like I have to turn into a heavy-duty construction vehicle overnight! 😁
It’s just nonsense. Honestly, thank God I don't have any extra weight to lose; I'm gaining exactly what both the baby and I need, and I truly don't see why it would be any better if I were obese. 🤷
