I was scrolling through some sports news earlier and realized just how fast certain niche athletics are blowing up. It feels like every time I look away, there’s a new professional circuit with its own internal rankings, MVP awards, and dedicated fanbases.

I remember back in the day, you really had to hunt for info on anything outside of the "Big Four" leagues. Now, you’ve got these hyper-specific professional tours popping up everywhere, and people are getting incredibly intense about the seasonal ballots and player stats. It's cool to see the growth, but sometimes I feel like I'm playing catch-up with a sport I didn't even know existed six months ago.

It makes me wonder about the longevity of these things. Do you think these smaller, specialized pro leagues are actually going to stick around and become mainstream, or is it just a massive wave of hype that'll burn out once the novelty wears off?

Is there an organization out there that accepts donations of medical supplies (wheelchairs, walkers, feeding stands...) or medications?
Everything is either within its expiration date or completely brand new.

I'm not sure if there's a specific nonprofit for this or where you're located, but we usually tell patients to donate those kinds of items to local nursing homes—they can always use them.👍
As for the meds, you might be able to return them to your primary care physician, who can then pass them along to a patient in need.
Is it safe to take expired Tylenol? in Health ·
Poisoning symptoms usually involve nausea and vomiting, and taking too much can lead to liver failure.

If I were you, I'd take some activated charcoal to try and absorb any excess Tylenol, though it's likely already in your system by now. You should definitely contact a doctor if you suspect an overdose.
Austin Williams20 said:Alright, so how can a medical doctor prescribe something they've never even heard of, or something that isn't even on the FDA approved list in America and hasn't been tested? Does a doctor just prescribe whatever pops into their head, even some fake Viagra? You're just parroting that link you're too lazy to actually post.

How do you know the doctor hasn't heard of it? Have you EVER actually consulted with them about THAT specific medication?
Let me know when you finally do, though maybe you aren't even capable of bringing up the drug to your doctor in the first place? 🤷
And that bolded part is IMPOSSIBLE, for the exact same reasons I laid out in my bullet points...
I know you aren't actually stupid; you're just projecting your own negativity onto innocent people. You hit the nail on the head, though—about those idiots who want to help someone who deserves it the least...

As for the other issues mentioned, there's a psychiatrist for that, or you can check out a mental health forum if those are the kinds of problems you're dealing with.👍

*I wouldn't normally reply to you, but I'm doing this for the other people who might stumble upon this thread, just so they know the truth.*

Take care, you too.☕
Austin Williams20 said:Good grief.

First off, how on earth can a doctor prescribe a medication that isn't even on the approved drug list?

First, second, and third—if you're going to post without actually reading what we've already told you, try reading this. Maybe it'll make sense. It's just a copy-paste from a supplier's site, but I'm not trying to run an ad here:

Emergency importation of medications involves importing finished drug products that haven't been granted marketing authorization in the United States.

Emergency importation is permitted under the following conditions:

• urgent medical necessity
• research purposes,
• clinical trials,
• pharmaceutical testing,
• non-clinical testing,
• cases involving natural disasters or other extraordinary circumstances,
• for individual treatment needs using a finished drug product prescribed by the attending physician or dentist (importation via private prescription)

As for everything else... ☕
Rachel Brooks63 said:Look, it doesn't even have to be some herbal remedy; it could be—just for the sake of argument—Acetaminophen in an Indian medicine box🤷

But the point is that the government is failing us, and someone should be up in arms about how it's being banned for everyone to import a medication they personally feel they need.🙄

That’s exactly what I was saying, just phrased differently.👍
Rachel Brooks63 said:Hold on a second. You're talking about a medication that wasn't even prescribed to your grandmother—something someone just bought for her in INDIA and smuggled into Canada? And then you're actually surprised that importing it is illegal? Seriously, man!?!?!?!?

Do you even know anything about this drug? Where can you even buy it globally? What kind of studies has it actually undergone? Has the FDA approved it? Do you realize you could literally kill your own grandma (?) with this stuff?

It always cracks me up when these "mysterious" foreign drugs turn out to be nothing more than natural supplements that are already available right here in America under a different name. I've dealt with a few cases like that myself ☕
I'm not saying that's what's happening here, since I have no clue which drug we're discussing, but it’s just a perfect example of how some patients in the US would rather listen to old wives' tales or their neighbors than follow their own doctors.
Austin Williams20 said:Seriously, this is a nightmare to live through. Are you one hundred percent sure about this? So, if the FDA hasn't approved it here in the States, there’s absolutely no way to get it anywhere without breaking the law?

Nobody’s even complaining.This is terrible.

It’s pathetic how some bureaucrats at companies like ExxonMobil and the federal government use these joint agreements to fix prices. They’re basically stripping away the freedom of everyday citizens—people who are literally funding their salaries through taxes—just so they can manipulate us.

If that’s how it’s going to be, then screw the law and screw this country.

What's there to complain about? If a specialist says your grandma needs that specific medication, then she needs it. Like Angela Wright explained, you can just use an emergency import. You get the prescription from the doctor, take it to the pharmacy, and they handle the paperwork with customs through their supplier. You'll get the meds without any issues—it just takes about three weeks at most.

If those old ladies want to play doctor and prescribe medication to everyone else, then they can be the ones to go out and buy it. That’s just common sense. 😉

I don’t even know who dragged me into reading this, but since I’ve already gone through it, I might as well weigh in...

To everyone dealing with paranoia: try focusing a bit more on the actual extraction process rather than spiraling into these thoughts. Just watch closely when your nurse peels back the packaging to open a fresh, sterile needle, uses it, and then tosses it straight into the biohazard bin along with the rest of the used gear.

And if you’re genuinely convinced someone handed you a dirty needle (look, I get it, paranoia is a heavy burden to carry), just go grab your own needle from a local CVS for a few cents.👍
How can I help her? in Health ·
Joseph Morris5 said:A few weeks ago, she started taking some pills her boyfriend sends her from Canada. Who knows what they even are; he just picks them up on his own without any real oversight.

Tell your girlfriend to check the ingredients and post them here... maybe your friend knows what they are but feels awkward saying anything. If she’s skeptical about doctors, it makes sense she'd be wary of meds too, which means she probably shouldn't just swallow anything blindly...

Try to find out exactly what she's taking 🙂

It’s definitely possible. Her private doctor likely just wrote her a standard prescription, and your friend paid for it at the counter.

I don't have any paid versions yet, but I'm going to try that file transfer trick again once I move everything over from my old laptop 😛
If that doesn't work, I'll follow the manual and try that "organize" method and all that...
Just waiting for a bit of inspiration to strike 🤣
thanks 😉

What about the apps? I tried moving files from my old machine to the new one, but the whole "replace file" thing clearly isn't working with this OS. 😛I guess I'll have to try that method you mentioned, but honestly, I just can't be bothered right now...

I actually stumbled upon this, along with a few other complicated workarounds, while searching on Google

http://www.complexdistress.com/2009/...-computer.html

but I was secretly hoping someone would come up with a simpler solution (like just moving contacts from Outlook on an old laptop over to Windows Live Mail on a new one)... looks like I'll have to give this a shot 😠

I'm not really following the question. Can you clarify?

I'm not a fan of BlackBerry, and I actually got this iPhone for $0.33 last year, and it works perfectly fine 😛

Okay, here's the deal... whenever I want to upload or download something on my iPhone, I use Spotify, but since I have a new laptop, it's running the latest version of Spotify, whereas all my data is stuck on my old laptop. So, if I try to sync it with the new laptop, my iPhone will end up completely empty.🙄

Can someone please help me out? 🙂
I just got a new laptop and installed Spotify on it. On my old laptop, I had Spotify where I used to sync my iPhone. How can I sync my "old" and "new" Spotify setups so that when I sync my iPhone with the new one, I don't end up with a total blank slate? 🙄
The old laptop runs Windows XP Pro and the new one is on Windows 7, though I don't think that matters since I already managed to connect them via cable and they recognize each other.
