I didn't sit down for this one because of Wes Anderson, per se, but rather out of pure curiosity regarding the chemistry between Owen Wilson and Adrien Brody; in the end, I found myself genuinely charmed by the whole thing! There is this specific brand of humor where the actors remain utterly deadpan, which somehow makes the audience laugh even harder.👍
As for the prequel, Hotel Chevalier, I must admit I didn't quite grasp its purpose. While seeing Natalie Portman in such a vulnerable state was certainly striking, I find myself wondering why Jack Whitman's narrative seems to hold more weight than the rest of the ensemble.🤷
p.s. It's rather embarrassing how little I know about Anderson's filmography: I actually dismissed The Royal Tenenbaums as being a bit tedious right at the start (which is unlike me), so I suppose I have some catching up to do with what I hope will be a slightly more spirited viewing session.😁

The Norwegians played absolutely terribly against the Canadians, and honestly, the final score is quite misleading because just five minutes before the end, Canada held a seven-point lead—their largest margin of the game. The officiating duo, who happened to be Romanian, seemed entirely focused on favoring the Norwegians during the first half; it reached a point of pure absurdity three minutes before halftime when Canada was playing with only three players on the court. One of those three was Lapagne, who, much to the referee's overly enthusiastic delight, managed a brilliant defensive play😂. It was such a ridiculous situation that even the crowd started laughing and actually broke into applause during the Canadian attack.
The Canadians secured this win primarily due to their relentless aggressiveness from the opening whistle to the final buzzer and their flawless execution while shorthanded—they even managed to offset (and subsequently miss) easy scoring opportunities despite being down two players. Perhaps the strangest aspect of the entire match, however, was how exceptionally well the Norwegian goalkeeper, Age, performed; it wasn't until the final five to ten minutes that his save percentage finally dipped below 40%. I also found the sheer volume of turnovers committed by the Norwegians in their offensive zone to be quite striking.
It is true that the Norwegians were playing without their pivot, Jensen (I happened to be watching this game from the stands🤣), but Frank Loke stepped up and played quite well. While he was on the court, the Norwegians maintained a decent level of play, but once he sustained an injury early in the second half, their performance completely fell apart.
Ultimately, I suspect the Canadians truly exhausted themselves in this matchup, yet even though the Norwegians were quite pathetic today, they shouldn't be expected to play this poorly again—though, in many scenarios, Age will likely be able to bail them out.🤷
Greetings, I have a question regarding some discomfort in my Achilles tendon. Last week, I began noticing a sensation of pain in my tendon—it was quite subtle, almost negligible, yet it lingered consistently throughout the entire week. Today, however, during a moment of more vigorous movement, the intensity of the pain sharpened significantly. I managed to push through and finish my session, though I had to proceed with extreme caution, taking a five-minute break and attempting some light stretching to manage the discomfort. I am curious to know if it is permissible to engage in other forms of exercise, such as swimming or cycling, while dealing with this Achilles issue, or if the fact that the pain has resurfaced with greater intensity means that complete rest is absolutely mandatory.
The original run of COPS was simply superior... You could actually recall specific episodes that left an impression, whereas lately, it feels like they're just recycling the same tired tropes over and over again... though I suppose even now, maybe one out of every two segments manages to hold some interest🙄 )
I have to say, I found this double episode of Our Other Cops is on to be incredibly overextended; it felt quite forced, to be honest. It seems quite obvious that they were just trying to pad out the runtime to protect the interests of the major networks, but they clearly ran out of actual substance to fill those forty minutes. It’s such a shame, really, because while one half of the series holds up reasonably well, this second half was just a massive letdown.🤷 👎
I find this third season to be quite exceptional. It possesses a distinct character compared to the previous two installments, and that final episode—where we see the tension between those two gangs finally simmer down—was somewhat peculiar, yet I found it immensely humorous. It has finally become clear to me why it was necessary for the U-turn in Weeds to meet such an untimely end...
On a different note, does anyone happen to recall which episode stands out as their absolute favorite? For my part, I have always held a particular fondness for the one titled Our 'Cops' is On 🤣
