hollowseal33 said:Yeah, sure—as long as you claim to be all about social activism while you're standing there at the Diamond Jubilee... 🤣

I never said that—not even close. I simply mentioned that we have some poems that touch upon social issues... so, honestly, just back off. 😬

Ethan Hall10 said:I’ve been a fan of Les Claypool for ages—ever since that first album dropped... I remember reading in Metal Hammer back then that Lars and the rest of the guys actually approached him to fill the spot left by Cliff Burton. I can't quite recall if he actually showed up for the audition or if he just turned them down with a bit of disdain... 😬

Back in 1986, following the passing of Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, Les Claypool went in to audition for the gig. There’s always been this rumor floating around that he didn't land the role simply because his playing style was considered "too funky" for their direction. In Metallica's Behind the Music, Claypool said that during the audition he wanted the others to jam on some Isley Brothers tunes, which happened after Lars Ulrich asked him if he wasn't really used to playing this kind of music. Even James Hetfield chimed in with a joke, suggesting that Claypool missed out on the job because "he was too good."

Oh, really? Well—funny enough—mine was too. 😬
analogharbor442 said:Speaking of Mars Volta—I actually sat down a while back and drafted some lyrics for them... just playing around with the vibe:

GOT SOME CASH, NEED A COLD ONE
(Dedicated to Mars Volta)

In the shadows of a ratified fallacy
Against the stenographic minor leagues
Democrat-Christians demystify the rallentando turicéphaly
Inspectors devour imaginary visualized hapax legomena through correction
The tourniquet drips from the theatergoer's ear
Regurgitating retrobulbar taxonomic scripts
Reality creeps through cosmolitic pores
The noctambulistic fistula turns viscous
Through Trojan palaces soaked in collodion
Asbestos biotypologies cloud their minds
Revising the process of toxicopathic decisiveness
Defenestrating their prokinetic sense

The lyrics have to be sharp. Witty. Sophisticated. 😁

I suppose one could argue that... well, there isn't much to say about "banderas" specifically—unless we are talking about flags, of course—but even then, it feels a bit... incomplete? Just a single word hanging there in the void. It reminds me of those old, dusty textbooks you’d find in the back corner of the Slavic Studies Department... you know the ones, where the pages are yellowed and everything feels slightly out of reach. Anyway, I was just sitting here thinking about how much a single word can imply, though perhaps I am overthinking it—as usual... [User Name] says:
Well, it’s certainly quite a newcomer... though if you think about it—and I do—the Let Štuka scene has actually been around for twenty years now, and I believe the President has been holding the reins for maybe fifteen... or perhaps even longer... 🤣

You just don't get it, banderas... You really don't. That whole urban sound—it's its own specific breed of music, a category all its own. It’s got this particular grit to it—you have to understand that. And if you want to know who's actually leading the charge, you need to remember names like Vatra, Ramirez, the kids, Yammat, and Elemental. Just keep those in mind... because that is what true urban music sounds like. 😁
Now, don't go getting all worked up—honestly, jazz is actually quite wonderful... 🙂

I'd much rather leave that particular topic to the realm of pure, unadulterated mental masturbation, if you don't mind me saying. 😁

I mean, honestly, how does granitecrane manage to talk such absolute garbage for such long stretches of time? It’s almost an art form at this point... quite impressive, really... 😬

Believe me when I say—and I mean this with the utmost sincerity—that this is merely the opening chapter of what promises to be a truly magnificent friendship... 🙂

The man actually known as Yanni—this absolute titan of instrumental expression—is far less hyped than that alternative pillar, Mike Oldfield, who for years has been scooping up all the credit from > incredibly prolific career. To put it simply, we are talking about an exquisite composer... one who, despite lacking a traditional classical education, utilizes these lush, ornate melodies—layered with various keyboards and saxophones through massive digital delays—to drive a rhythm that sits at the very pinnacle of New Age composition, and indeed, > itself. Furthermore, one should note the man holds a degree in psychology... and in his younger days, he even represented the United States in swimming during the >. In short, the man is educated, talented, and truly peerless. Here is my recommended > discography:

Optimystique (1980, reissue 1984) — While absolutely brilliant, this album went largely unnoticed initially... it was reissued in 1984 due to a growing demand for > signature mustache—if you will allow me such a phrasing. This album is a symphony of swimming dolphins... a primal step toward the unseen. It isn't so much > piano skills that shine here, but rather that breathtaking atmosphere—it feels as though you are walking on the moon.

Keys to Imagination (1986) — Now, this is a true masterpiece. SAOR at its absolute zenith. From the surrealist cover art, which seems to herald the very flow of > thoughts, which are entirely incorporated into this work... while listening to this album, you feel yourself melting from one atmosphere into another—something utterly unrepeatable.

Reflections of Passion (1990) — > darkest work. Entirely dedicated to his wife who—while attempting to experience astral projection alongside > via twenty hours of tantric sex—passed away in ecstasy. By striving to reach an equilibrium of reconciliation with fate and grief for his spiritual partner, > reached the very summit of his compositional and emotional maturity.

Yanni Live at the Acropolis (1996) — His most famous work (often compared to > performance in front of the >, though that is unnecessary because we know > intended to do this first—it is written!). This is his sort of rebirth... a return to >. After several dark years recovering from tragedy and a few unsuccessful albums, > shone as the brightest star in both hemispheres. Grandiose melodies accompanied by orchestrations from the > summoned the spirit and emotion of > ancestors and fused them with his true existence.

That is all. I don't have the time to write more right now—I will check back later to see your reactions. Don't even bother trying to say anything against >... because his place in music history is well established. 🙂

p.s. >, you absolute jerk.
Kevin Chavez3 said:No—honestly, you’re just being an idiot—a thief and a coward who lacks the backbone to admit they took something, clinging to it out of pure greed while spinning these pathetic, flimsy excuses... 🙄

Where there is a will, there is a way... if you actually want to make things right and be an honest person, just reach out to them at deadMoon after 20 yrs or hit them up on MySpace. If not, then just beat it—on your own dime—and stop pretending to be some saint.

So what, you just tripped, slipped on the floor, and accidentally landed right in my wife's lap?
