Do admins ever actually listen to user feedback? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Laura Evans3 said:Yeah... you just show up, derail the conversation with off-topic nonsense, and act like a complete clown.🙂

Would you be so kind as to provide me with a direct link showing exactly where I am supposedly messing with people or being disrespectful toward them?
I could easily send you a direct link showing exactly where they are insulting me, yet you choose not to take any disciplinary action against them.
The real question I’m grappling with here is whether telling someone they need to go get treated is actually grounds for a formal complaint, or if that's just overreacting.
I just thought I’d share, simply to get things moving, so that I might also begin opening up about my own diagnoses.
I see that if you’ve been granted that kind of leeway, I don't see why the same shouldn't apply to me.

It seems that through my own contributions to this thread, you’ve completely lost your composure.

Back in fifth grade, during our English Language Arts classes, we used to carry around this specific little workbook titled "Reading Comprehension."
Since it seems like we aren't quite on the same page regarding what I’m actually getting at here, let me rephrase the core of my point: my question is, where exactly did I go wrong?🤣

If you find pink tube tops and those other flashy types so incredibly grating, I honestly have to wonder why you bother showing up to this thread at all. If your goal is just to ask what a fleet rate is, there are much better places to seek out that kind of information.

The subject matter at hand is simply too heavy for this discussion to continue when the lead advisor doesn't even grasp fundamental terminology. It’s hard to take the argument seriously when they aren't familiar with the concept of a flat rate, or when they mistakenly refer to "firmer" instead of the actual term, firmware. Beyond that, there is a complete misunderstanding of how mobile networks function; we aren't dealing with some kind of sinister, hidden transmitters in the context of GSM or UMTS technology, but rather standard, everyday cellular base stations.
And when I politely ask him to actually explain what the hell a firm is, you dismiss it as me being off-topic, only to turn around and scatter all this information everywhere anyway.
And just so we're clear, who exactly between the two of us is being disrespectful here? The question keeps pressing itself upon me, almost as if it’s looking for an answer I'm not quite ready to give.

You didn't actually send anyone a private message regarding this issue. Instead, you aired your grievances in that specific thread dedicated to card appeals, where those posts are still live and visible for everyone to see. Even the MEP responded to you right there in that discussion. So, I have to wonder, why are you getting worked up all over again?
He completely agreed with the assessment I provided, and he hasn't made a single correction to it... or if you’re still insisting that I'm wrong, then please, go ahead and send me links to the specific posts within the Homebox thread that I supposedly flagged incorrectly. As for who is actually responsible for this mess, the MEP is clearly behind it...

There is simply no way for you to know, nor could you possibly grasp, who exactly I am corresponding with via PM.
I honestly feel a profound sense of regret that the MEP decided to step back from tackling those specific issues, along with several others, only to hand the entire situation over to someone who is frankly quite immature and uninformed—not to mention incredibly rude and arrogant.

I’ll be more than happy to take action once you can actually demonstrate how you managed to report a user who hasn't posted on the Homebox thread since long before your old handle was even active. It feels somewhat misplaced for you to come after me like this and then immediately turn around and demand something in return.

And who exactly am I supposed to report this to—you?
Honestly, how am I supposed to provide any proof that I actually clicked that little button?
What are you even talking about?

You seem to pop up every single time some newbie says something silly... but you're never around when someone regular is actually trying to have a conversation...

And has anyone actually said anything sensible here in the last year?
Has anyone offered a single piece of useful advice on how to handle that contract issue?
You know how people ask questions, right?
They send a PM, and they always get the same response: "Go ask the self-proclaimed experts in this thread," or they get met by a moderator who is clearly just protecting their own precious little community...

Another classic ad hominem attack. Though I'm sure you'll dodge it just like you did in your last post... quoting everything except the actual point... no links, no references, nothing.

And there it is again—the sheer audacity. How on earth am I supposed to access my old PMs when those accounts were wiped clean during the last update?🤷

No, that isn't your right... 😉 I mean, does it really make sense to drag up stuff from an old account and hide behind a new identity?

It is absolutely my right to do whatever I want with my old account, and it is my right to tell you to stop posting about it here.
We are stepping into my private business now, and you have a responsibility to respect that privacy.
But then again, I shouldn't expect you to understand that...

Who exactly are you to decide what I can and cannot do here? By the way, I didn't tell her what she could or couldn't do either... I simply explained that she doesn't need one specific thread labeled "where to report a moderator," and that she's free to start a new one if her issue doesn't fit the current topics...
You're busy nitpicking my every move, yet here you are, quoting my response to another user just to tear it apart... 🙏

The truth is, a handful of you moderators don't realize that when the conversation isn't specifically about you, we're just regular users.
It’s the same pattern on every single forum discussion where you step in as a mod.
There’s a whole group of us on this site who will say what needs to be said, whether it's allowed or not.
You few enforcers always try to intimidate people with those dark usernames, acting like you hold all the cards with that "I'm allowed to do this" attitude.

At this point, this has devolved into pure personal animosity and petty bickering.
To be perfectly honest, I can't stand you. You're the kind of person I wouldn't even tolerate in my real life; I wouldn't even give you the time of day if we crossed paths on a street in Chicago.
That’s exactly why I walked away from the section where you moderate. As long as you're in charge there, there is zero chance I will ever show my face.
But I had to say this to you. Given your comments, I honestly think you should seek help, or at the very least, receive a formal warning from the head admin, because that's usually what happens for behavior like this on this forum!
That's my final word on the matter.

Laura Evans3 said:The reason for all this is that you can report a moderator within this entire subforum...
if you find yourself banned, there is a dedicated space for those who have been barred from the community; if you’ve been tossed out entirely, we have a thread for the exiles; and if there is a specific issue at hand, you simply start a new discussion topic... 🙂

It seems you believe you have an answer for every single situation...
We have moderators and even head moderators overseeing this platform, and they are the ones who establish the rules and decide what stays and what goes.
Who exactly are you to dictate the boundaries of what is acceptable here?
Do admins ever actually listen to user feedback? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Of course, because you're always right...😉

I am certainly not, and I never actually claimed to be...
I don't venture into topics where I lack any real expertise, nor do I write about them; rather, if something catches my interest, I simply ask a question—without adding those little jabs suggesting someone needs medical attention.....

If you take a moment to read the previous post more carefully, you'll see you've already started arguing about how you used to express yourself versus how you're expressing yourself now regarding the Homebox topic...

What exactly is this Homebox topic?
And how, precisely, am I expressing myself...
I get the distinct impression you're just trying to bait me into a reaction, hoping I'll lose my cool, but I assure you, that isn't going to happen....

Tell the moderator they should have closed the thread since you didn't like the direction it was taking, even though it wasn't off-topic. Why didn't you speak up in the "Rules" thread or send a PM to the MEP?

Once again, you're getting tangled up in things you don't truly understand...
That dilemma has been present since the very inception of this thread...
When a discussion hasn't gone on for two months, the conversation eventually drifts toward pink bubblegum—that's a bit of an exaggeration just to help you grasp the point.....

Between both of my accounts, you've given me a total of three warnings... one for posting nothing but "smiley faces"—which is perfectly on-topic, wouldn't you agree? Or perhaps there are technical specifications encoded within those smileys that are vital to the Homebox topic? The second was for the pleasant conversation between you, Praetoriana, and Mihac, which resulted in me having to delete over 50 posts, and then there's the third warning explained above...
So please, explain to me how any of those three warnings were actually related to the Homebox topic in a way that warranted me issuing them.

Since you're being so brazen by using a third alias, I think I'll be completely unfair and tell you that I did reach out to the MEP regarding your behavior, and he admitted in a PM that you had made a mistake—that you should have issued other warnings as well, but hadn't.
He corrected that error, and we settled things civilly.
But that isn't the case with you, because you intentionally ignore insults, yet you seem quite fond of it when someone adds a comment about needing psychiatric help.
For things like that, a warning is required, plain and simple!
Yet you didn't issue one......

And so you came to me? 🤣🤣🤣
I've reviewed my saved private messages... and there is NO PM from you...
Another interesting observation is that the user whose signature you are defending (I assume you mean that certain individual?) is active on the Homebox topic, and their PDF Internet account only appeared at the end of July, whereas your previous account, which you claim sent me a PM, was only active until the end of May... 😕😕

Of course, you’re only ever speaking the absolute truth...
Fine, let’s say I’m lying. But now that you’ve uncovered that signature, I have to wonder: what exactly do you plan to do about it?

Oh wow... you were just so sweet to him... acting with that signature gentle touch of yours... every single time some newcomer shows up...

Just a blatant lie...

It's pretty obvious you aren't, since I haven't received a PM from you... and if we're talking about that specific signature and that particular user, we're still a couple of months out... (unless we aren't, in which case, just send me a PM clarifying which signature you mean...)

I am done sending you any more PMs, because you have a habit of doctoring them until they're unrecognizable...

I'm the one who pulled that out from under the rug, not you.

I feel the need to provide a thorough explanation here, mostly because you tend to follow the pattern of most moderators—relying on a tiny handful of posts to make a point or fixating on a word that's already been used over and over again...
Ultimately, however, I am the one who decides where the line is drawn regarding an old username, because that is my prerogative...

Alex Barnes8 said:William Green4, if it makes you feel any better, I've personally dealt with insults far more cutting than that "go get help" comment you mentioned.
fl:

Well, don't try to comfort me...
because when you look at a thread where people are actually sharing life-or-death advice, it feels entirely predictable that after someone repeatedly posts nonsense, you call them out, and suddenly you're the one getting slapped with a massive penalty.
It’s like how if someone were to drag my mother’s name through the mud without any justification, they might only walk away with a slap on the wrist, while calling out stupidity gets you the heavy hammer.
So, naturally, you’re going to vent about it, but nobody is going to offer an ounce of sympathy or support.
And really, why should anyone be surprised by this dynamic?
I honestly have to wonder what the point of the PŽK even is.
Is it just to provide a platform for arrogant moderators to swoop in and mess things up? Because that's how it feels...
The baseline rule of decent conduct should be simple: if I am lodging a complaint against Moderator A, then Moderator B shouldn't be jumping into the fray to clutter the discussion.
But instead, we see situations where Moderator A starts picking on a user, Moderator B gets tangled up in the mess, and then Moderator B ends up being scolded ruthlessly just for being involved.
They talk a big game about maintaining a civilized community here, but you can certainly think whatever you want about that claim...

Laura Evans3 said:you never actually contribute anything relevant to the topic; it’s just constant sarcasm and off-topic remarks☕:

It seems you aren't reading with any actual comprehension...

It's a shame... it would be great if you expressed yourself here the way you do elsewhere... you play the perfect little boy here.😍

Like what?

So, from now on, we get to decide who hands out the penalties?😂🤣😂

It feels pretty unfair to hand out penalties when you don't even understand the subject matter, doesn't it?

I have... and my mistakes have been corrected... the threads exist...😛

That's hard to swallow, because your biggest mistake was becoming a moderator in the first place, and that's something that can't be undone...

Did you send me a PM?

Of course, I sent one to you and to Desiree, and Desiree mentioned she couldn't be everywhere at once and suggested I reach out to the PDF moderator instead...

You still have another username you've used, which means this is just a clone account...

And so what?

Being a newbie shouldn't ever be penalized... and I'm not suggesting we punish them... if someone bothers you by mentioning the fleet rate, just politely correct them... which is something you seem unable to do...

The problem with being a "newbie" is that it often comes with an underlying layer of arrogance and rudeness.
You don't need to penalize someone for being ignorant, but if I ask them nicely to explain what a firm is, and after I've laid out how these things work, they respond by telling me to go get mental help—with your blessing, no less—well, should I really be expected to remain polite?
edit: 🤣 Good grief, I should have realized it was you all along... if you had just spoken up sooner, everything would have made much more sense to me... 😘 🙂
So, did I actually lodge a complaint regarding the signature, or did I not?☕
And while we're at it, I think it would be a matter of basic courtesy to respect my decision regarding why that particular username was banned—don't you agree?

Laura Evans3 said:but you still managed to wander into that lion's den and walk away with a red card😛:

which seems to be quite an uphill battle for you, especially when I’m discussing topics that fall outside your sphere of understanding....

Laura Evans3 said:you aren't responding to the suggestion to "go treat oneself" (though you might want to take the advice of others who have been through this before😉 ):

this level of rudeness is just so characteristic of you; honestly, it serves as a perfect microcosm of your overall sense of civility and education.
I assume you're waiting for me to strike back with the same intensity, but I won't bother; your own posts provide more than enough insight into your character.....

Laura Evans3 said:you are already replying to the MEP regarding his warning about how people are behaving in this thread...:

in that case, the MEP should have been the one to issue the red card rather than you, and I wouldn't have had a single word to say to him.....

Laura Evans3 said:>p.s. if you have any grievances regarding the red card, you know exactly where to file them 😁:

For what purpose?
have you ever truly realized that you were in the wrong?

Laura Evans3 said:I don't even know what your old username was (little icon 🙄😁 ) I have no idea whose signature you're referring to, nor has anyone sent me anything regarding a signature... just take a breather and grab a coffee...:

I actually sent you a formal complaint about that signature, but instead of addressing it, you just slapped a warning on me for some vague nonsense.
And I am certainly no carbon copy of anyone else; that’s just another example of your rather crude way of expressing yourself...
And naturally, you'll proudly claim I'm just "mod material"... as if that were a compliment.
The goal is to build a decent, civilized forum, yet the moderators behave like unruly street vendors...

Laura Evans3 said:And did you get an invite to this thread? 😍:

If I'm not mistaken, the topic is titled "Do Administrators Ever Actually Honor Grievances,"
so naturally, I have plenty to say about it.

Laura Evans3 said:Kisses, and maybe we'll see each other around the neighborhood.😘

Not a chance....
There is absolutely no way I'd participate in a thread where fleet rate, firmer, and people like that—who operate under your protection—are handing out advice. It seems you find it convenient to label anyone who disagrees with you as inferior, effectively driving them away from here.....
Enjoy yourself.......

Olivia Moore51 said:Man, I really miss the days when ZgSash was running the show here. He actually put in the effort, responded to people, and would even send a reply via private message😲
instead of just shutting down threads or giving dismissive answers like "that's a stupid question." You'd just stay quiet or ignore it. I don't understand the urge to have a lid for every single pot.🤷

Ever since ZgSash left, the pattern here has become incredibly predictable.
On any thread involving a grievance, various "lids" suddenly appear—people who happen to be moderators or have absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter—and they chatter away until everyone is exhausted.
Then, the moderator in charge of this section steps in and locks the thread without a single issue being resolved.
It only ends when someone finally snaps and loses their temper, at which point they earn a ban, because apparently, that isn't how we communicate here.
But of course, Laura Evans3 certainly won't be getting a warning to go treat herself.
If I were to write that on any other thread, I'd receive a warning instantly, and quite frankly, I'd deserve it...

I miss ZgSash too, but one should respect his decision to step away because he simply didn't have the patience for this anymore.
That is certainly within his rights...

Laura Evans3 said:Honestly, I can only hope that our paths don't cross again in the future. 😬 Even if there had been thirty-five of them, it still wouldn't have been enough to make a dent. 😛

It’s only natural that we won't be crossing paths, considering you've turned those PDF files and certain discussion threads into such an absolute mess—it's basically a chicken coop over there, and I simply have nothing to contribute to that kind of chaos.
The core issue lies within that specific quote, "go treat oneself." You didn't penalize it in the moment, but you certainly did with those 35 points in one of your later responses.
On top of that, I mentioned to you back when I was using my old handle that his signature really rubbed me the wrong way, mostly because it was a direct jab at my previous username.
It seems you clearly lack the necessary intuition to distinguish between genuine discussion and someone who is simply trolling or being provocative, and that stems from the fact that you don't truly grasp the nuances of the very subject matter you are tasked with moderating.
Well, please, feel free to keep enjoying yourself in that little playground. Besides, it isn't really your place to lecture anyone on whether the concerns raised by others on this forum are being taken seriously or not.
Since this PDF includes a subtitle that asks for our "comments, ideas, desires, and feedback on how to make the forum better and more civilized," I’d like to offer my own suggestion for improving the atmosphere here. If we truly want to foster a more polite and civil environment, my primary recommendation would be to remove the incompetent moderators.
And you definitely belong right there with them.
Either you need to stop acting like you have an opinion on every single little thing posted here on this forum and actually start respecting the moderation, or we’re going to have a serious issue.
I really appreciate you being so understanding about this.

Laura Evans3 said:Next time you get flagged, are you actually going to keep doubling down and being a total jerk toward the moderator who issued the warning, or will you take a moment to reflect on whether you might actually be the one in the wrong?

Not quite; rather, people will simply stop showing up to your thread, leaving you to effectively moderate an empty room all by yourself...

Linda Wells4 said:It’s been a long while since I’ve actually contributed to any thread around here—I basically retired my old handle a while back. Honestly, I only keep this account active because of a few specific registered user functions I need; mostly just to get through those PDFs that I hold dear.

I’ve reached this point where I start viewing posting on this forum as a full-blown obligation—it becomes this thing on my to-do list that I feel pressured to tackle—and then, before I know it, it’s swallowed up a massive chunk of my day. Honestly, between everything else going on, I’m starting to wonder where I'm even supposed to find the extra time for these activities anymore.
It’s actually a relief to see someone finally standing their ground with a different perspective—honestly, I'm glad someone's right for once. Though, looking at how you managed to bypass all those filters... man, you really dodged a bullet there. 🙄).
Maybe Francesca lives by this one rule: the moment Katrin calls her out, she decides to hold a grudge against every single moderator on the board. 😬

You know, I’ve been thinking about what everyone noticed regarding Katrin—and honestly, there's a reason I haven't been able to just shake off how she carries herself. It’s exactly why I decided to reactivate my account and start typing again.
There is one particular thing I can’t stand—truly, I find it utterly loathsome—and that is perfidy. There's simply no other word for it.
If you ever find yourself getting into it with her—I mean, a real, heated debate over something—just watch how she plays it. She’ll spend the next week hunting through your entire post history, looking for any tiny little loophole in the forum rules just to get under your skin. It’s calculated. She’ll report you for technicalities, edit your posts behind your back, and just slowly, methodically, pick at you until you’re practically vibrating with rage. It keeps going like that—this relentless, subtle poking—right up until the moment you finally snap and tell her exactly where she can shove it. But that’s when the trap closes. The second you lose your cool and lash out, suddenly those "gray area" rules don't matter anymore. Now, you've broken a hard rule, and you'll find yourself tossed into the digital equivalent of a solitary confinement cell. You’ll be sitting there in some obscure corner of the site, shouting into the void like a guy standing alone on a peak in the Rockies during a blizzard—nobody’s listening, nobody cares, and you're just left whistling in the wind.

Look, Katrin—I’m a spiteful person. I am, I am, I am. No, wait... actually, I haven't forgotten you. I have. I really have. Everything is forgiven—truly, I mean it. 😁

In my entire six-plus years of lurking and posting on this forum—which feels like a lifetime, honestly—I’ve managed to rack up exactly two bans and maybe five warnings total since they started handing them out... most of which came courtesy of Katrin. 😬It’s funny, really—I’ve been posting all over the place, yet somehow I managed to miss the mark when it came to actually starting a thread in the right section. It’s almost impressive, isn't it? Honestly, I can't even make excuses... even when I was dealing with that absolute nightmare of a period—you know, that overwhelming monthly cycle—I still couldn't seem to get my navigation straight! Just one of those days, I guess.

I couldn't care less about the ban—honestly, I earned most of my marks around here through sheer stubbornness, and they were worth it—but what actually eats at me is the injustice of it all. It’s the thought that some new user might stumble upon Katrin, only to walk away from this forum entirely because things feel off. We might lose out on a thousand laughs, a thousand brilliant posts, or a thousand deep, winding discussions that serve as the perfect seasoning for my morning coffee before I dive headfirst into the daily grind. It’s just a damn shame.

Look, I don't exactly sit around catching up on the daily news cycle—I leave that to the people with more patience than me. I stick to the forums. And honestly, even if you look at a legal document or some official PDF posted here, it really ought to be more than just dry text. It should actually be engaging, informative... a place where people can trade experiences, swap intel, offer advice, or even genuinely learn something new. That’s what a community is for, right? What else is there?

A law—unlike any other PDF document floating around—should never be a mere reflection of whatever views the moderator "editing" it happens to hold. To me, managing a sub-forum means actually respecting the people participating in the debate; it’s about trying to simmer down the best possible broth from those discussions so that everyone who drops by later gets a taste of something meaningful.
That’s just how I see it, anyway.
But hey, maybe I’ve got it all wrong.
🤷

P.S. I don't want anyone thinking I'm trying to claim ownership of this thread like some old relic—I'm slowly backing away. I'm heading out; I've earned my pension on this forum fair and square.

"let me see you go
may your step be light
there they walk together
just like so many before us
in a way, you are an image
that people remember
the sweet movement of a dear soul
ah, I am retreating into solitude

It's hard to argue with that truth.....

gle power, I find myself agreeing with part of what you mentioned...
Essentially, crimsonsailor7 wants to provide this as a free public service, which I think is a great move.
However, she should probably leave the door open for philosophical discussions regarding certain laws and regulations.
I know for a fact that Vojky enjoys those kinds of deep dives, and he and I often end up bickering over various topics.
The problem is that these subjects can be quite volatile; they have a tendency to spiral quickly into personal attacks and toxic venting.
That becomes especially tricky if you happen to be dealing with someone like rustywalker42.
It seems obvious that crimsonsailor7, or perhaps someone else in charge, has realized that nobody can realistically moderate those heavy, philosophical debates twenty-four hours a day...
Host Katrin in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Since I was actually part of this discussion, I feel I have a legitimate right to share my perspective.
Look, rustywalker42, telling me not to troll or to "stick to the topic" is a bit much—if you ask me, being handed a seven-day ban is a greater provocation than anything I’ve done.
Beyond that, I asked you right at the start: if you really wanted to keep this conversation going, why not just move it over to the philosophy or politics section?
The thing is, a PDF document is just a set of facts, and the law is inherently dry; discussions based strictly on legal text tend to be exactly like that.
As for crimsonsailor7, people can think whatever they want about her, but she is clearly a legal professional who isn't interested in playing philosopher.
I hope you see where I'm coming from.......

it seems you're grouping homeopathy and MMS into the exact same category...
By the way, someone should probably walk over to a local CVS, pick up one of those amber teething necklaces for infants, and ask the pharmacist what the actual purpose is there.
And another thing: if mainstream medicine has already reached its limit with a particular case, who are we to step in and claim to be someone's final Hail Mary?
As for Alan, I personally know who that individual is from the RL circles, and let me tell you, they are quite a malicious person—and I'm being polite when I say that—and they certainly aren't doing this out of the goodness of their heart to help people.
