I think I misread the situation, but my friend vividfalcon14 set me straight; the moderators can access everything via their dashboard, excluding private messages. An Admin carries the same level of authority as a moderator, just applied to the entire site rather than a specific section.

The Admin can...
they can see deleted posts, they can see your IP address, and the specific host you're connecting from—that’s pretty much the extent of their visibility.
However, the system administrator has the ability to view private messages as well, whereas that particular privilege is disabled for everyone else.

I have to say, I completely agree—the progress being made here is undeniable, and you can feel it across the entire community.
Truth be told, and God knows it, there are certain moderators who haven't quite earned their stripes yet (some might even call it a cushy government job 🤣), but I truly believe everything will eventually settle into its rightful place.
If my memory serves me right, just under a year ago, I sat down and wrote an open letter to this forum, fueled by nothing but bitterness toward the leadership at the time; however, looking at how far we've come, I am more than happy to retract those words.

The truth is, the history of this nation stretches back through centuries of deep-rooted development.

It makes sense that the Republican Party stands out in that regard, simply because they’ve held the reins of power for so much longer.
To be clear, I wouldn't go as far as labeling people specifically as "Republicans" or "Democrats" when I call them thieves.
A thief is just a thief, regardless of the label, and many people seem to join these parties for the express purpose of finding a way to line their own pockets.
If you want proof that this issue transcends party lines, just look at the local government in Washington, D.C., where the Republican Party hasn't actually held much sway lately...
We could even point to the coverage from outlets like 101 News, which often seems to focus its loudest accusations of corruption exclusively on the Republican Party...

To be honest, Johnny was always such an absurdly eccentric figure, especially when it came to his takes on political affairs.
I still vividly remember him handing out flyers for causes he didn't truly grasp—and frankly, couldn't have understood—simply because he was too young to realize there was even a movement happening in the first place.
But now that he’s finally experienced the flip side of the coin, he’s acting like some wounded, overly sensitive bystander who's taken deep personal offense...

In my view, when I first joined, I saw this place as a genuine exchange of ideas—a chance to hear different perspectives, learn something new, or just find a spot to kill an hour whenever life gets a bit dull.
But let’s be realistic here: the owner cares about the bottom line, and there is no guarantee that anyone is actually reading what we write.
As for the moderators, they seem to be chosen based on who can suck up to whom the most, which explains why we end up with mods that, in real life, I wouldn't even trust to tell me where the nearest Starbucks is.
If you notice a moderator is being one-sided, playing favorites, or just talking nonsense while handing out bans like candy, then simply look past that specific thread.
Once the engagement on a particular thread drops off a cliff and all that's left is incoherent whining, perhaps then someone will finally decide to step in and change things.
And honestly, you shouldn't let yourselves get worked up over it; there is really no reason to...
Everything tends to work itself out in the end....

But you guys are moderators, and frankly, penalizing the moderation team is a double-edged sword that does more harm than good.

2.) Or do you imagine this moment is so monumental that future generations will be studying it, quoting, "Remember when Ward87 said that?"

Whatever the case may be, it’s honestly laughable; it undermines your authority, and quite frankly, nobody is taking you seriously right now....

The truth is, you're one of those few moderators who actually brings the reputation of this forum down by trying to lecture people on subjects you clearly don't understand.

I think we might be setting expectations for private messages a bit too high, especially when it comes to punishing people for them.
The reality is that PMs can be edited, and without having direct access to someone's account, there’s simply no way to verify what was actually sent versus what someone claims was received.
Because of that uncertainty, banning users over PM disputes shouldn't become a common practice—in fact, it really shouldn't happen at all.
The only exceptions should be clear-cut cases of spam or blatant advertising, though even then, it’s a difficult call to make when you're trying to judge if a message is genuinely deceptive or just an opinion.
