I'm only 27, but I've been dealing with hip issues my entire life. I actually had surgeries back when I was just a kid—so, honestly, I don't think I'm in any position to offer you much help or answer your specific questions—but I am looking at having surgery myself sometime in the next year. Honestly, Aurora, there are so many of us out there dealing with this. I’m only 26, yet I’ve been battling similar issues for years. I’ve already gone through three surgeries—my orthopedic surgeon actually wanted to operate on both my hips, but my parents refused. They ended up getting absolutely grilled by the doctors for it, only for everyone to realize about ten years later that the hip they left alone was actually in perfect condition—so, thank God they didn't touch it! Meanwhile, the one they *did* operate on? It was completely ruined. Now, I’m stuck waiting for a total hip replacement, living with intense pain and, frankly, being unable to move properly. To make matters worse, when I pointed out my knee issues to him a decade ago, he just brushed me off, saying, "No, it looks fine to me." Well, fast forward to today, that issue has become severe, and now he’s suddenly admitting it needs fixing too. It used to be such a different world—everyone just protected their own, and getting a second opinion was nearly impossible unless you were willing to fly overseas for medical care. But nowadays, that isn't the case anymore. Please, if you have the chance to seek a second opinion, take it! Don't end up suffering through what some of us are enduring just because someone else was careless with our health.

I honestly can’t stress this enough—go see a specialist. I know, I know, it feels like a hassle, but you really don't want to wait until things escalate. It could turn out to be absolutely nothing, which is the best-case scenario, but it could also spiral into something major. And trust me, when those kinds of pains start hitting you, they aren't something you want to just "tough out." It’s always much easier to nip a problem in the bud than to try and fix a disaster later on... better safe than sorry!

I just caught wind of some news—it looks like Dr. Antičević has opened up his own private practice. Honestly, I’m crossing my fingers that he’s gained a bit more wisdom and experience since we last crossed paths! As for whether I’d recommend him... well, I can't say I would, mostly because my own experiences weren't exactly stellar. In fact, he’s actually one of the main reasons I don't particularly care for Šalat as a healthcare provider. Regarding the facility in Savannah, I’ve heard plenty of glowing reviews, but then again, I've heard some pretty grim stories too. At the end of the day, making these medical decisions is incredibly tough—there are so many moving parts to consider, and sometimes, you just need a little bit of luck on your side. Personally, luck hasn't been my best friend; I've already gone through three surgeries and I'm currently bracing myself for the next one—who knows how many more are coming down the line? My best advice? Please, think this through carefully. Seek out as many different opinions as possible. Thank God we live in an era where getting a second or third opinion is actually doable, even if you have to shell out some cash for a consultation—it is absolutely worth it.
