feralsurfer3 said:Come on ladies, let’s hear it! How was the wedding fair? I totally missed out and couldn't make it...

I went both days, but honestly, there wasn't anything particularly special about it. I did manage to snag a few discount coupons from Tiffany & Co. for rings; they're valid until the end of the year, though some last for about five months.

I ended up coming home with a whole bag full of flyers. 🙂

To be perfectly honest, I was expecting much more from the whole experience. I asked several vendors very specific questions hoping for even a rough quote, but the responses were always just "it depends on this" or "well, you could do this or that..." It felt a bit vague. The only exception was at the booths where actual employees were working—they actually knew their stuff and what they were offering.

The one silver lining for me was seeing the makeup artist I'm planning to hire in action; she was doing the makeup for the bridal gown runway show.

I had this dream where I just showed up unannounced on one of those dates that actually worked for me 🙂

thanks

So, you just show up whenever it's convenient for you, huh?

Where are you, man? Where's our list? 🙂

Does anyone happen to have a contact number for pre-marital counseling classes in San Diego or maybe Los Angeles?
I managed to find some numbers listed on the Archdiocese website, but I've been calling for two weeks now and haven't been able to get anyone to pick up the phone.
Velum is a fantastic venue, though I’d say it’s best suited for mashed potato spreads for up to about 150 people.

I feel like I’ve completely lost touch with reality here 🙂
I've been searching everywhere, but I just can't seem to find that one specific jeweler in San Francisco that specializes exclusively in engagement rings... I'm positive I read about them somewhere, but I just can't track them down right now
Does anyone happen to have any info? Please let me know if you do 🙂

gentlewolf69 said:Douglas Reyes3, have you reached out to the Jesse band yet? I'm pretty sure they’re charging about $1,800 for this year... They played at my relative's party about a year and a half ago and they're actually quite talented. I wasn't huge on their choice of setlist—I mean, alongside all those lovely ballads, they threw in some Gibbon's songs like "I'm doing the right thing" and a few other tracks along the lines of "you left me, you don't love me anymore"—but I think you could easily negotiate with them regarding what you want and don't want them to play. They ended up stepping in for my relative because her own band canceled just two weeks before the party, so she didn't really care what they played, she just needed someone to show up... She did mention she didn't want any country music though. My bridesmaid has the Rose band playing for her in September for $1,500, and I've heard they're good. I know the Pink Panther is great too, but $2,100 is just way too much money... Currently, I have Centrifuge from Imok playing for me for $1,200. Everyone tells me they're amazing, but I'm feeling a bit skeptical because I watched a video on YouTube that didn't exactly wow me... still, the venue manager and the photographer both swear they absolutely kill it, so I'll take their word for it...

Thanks... I'll send an inquiry to Jesse.
$2,100 is just way too much for me 🙂

Man...
I honestly have no idea how to find a decent band. I'm not looking to drop $2,000 or $2,500 on one, but whenever I ask for a recommendation, people just shut me down immediately. "Oh, don't bother with the cheap ones, they're all garbage." Seriously? I went to a wedding where the band playing was absolutely terrible... I almost wanted to turn the radio up just to drown them out for the rest of the night.🙂

Has anyone here ever been to a party where Trio Adriatic was playing? I’m looking for some recommendations for a band, ideally something that won't break the bank. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I’ve been to plenty of parties, but honestly, I always seem to forget who the band was or if I actually enjoyed their set... even if the music isn't exactly my style, I usually have a great time as long as the crowd is good.

The only thing is, I’d rather avoid an alternative band that spends the whole night playing loud indie rock or whatever... I mean, I don't mind it, but since we have guests coming, I’d prefer a group that plays a little bit of everything—mostly just fun, upbeat hits. You know, that classic, high-energy party vibe.🙂
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Forgive me, but I think I’m about to go on a bit of a rant here...

So, I just got back from my gynecologist appointment regarding starting on Qlaira pills... though I’m still not entirely sure if I should actually pull the trigger on this or not.

My doctor ordered some blood work, which came back perfectly fine, and after we talked things through, she recommended this specific pill.
She made it very clear that no medication—not even these—is completely without side effects, and emphasized that the risk of thrombosis, at worst, is always a possibility.
Since I’m a smoker, she told me straight up that I absolutely have to quit, otherwise, I shouldn't be taking them at all.

On the other hand, she warned me about potential side effects during the first three months. She mentioned there might be spotting mid-cycle, missed periods, or slightly heavier menstruation, but that everything should regulate itself within that initial three-month window. However, if things don't settle down, I definitely need to check back in with her.
I asked her about weight gain, and she said it’s possible, though it really varies from person to person. Apparently, these pills are formulated in a way that shouldn't cause significant water retention, which should help prevent issues like bloating or cellulite.
I also brought up vaginal dryness and mood swings... she admitted that dryness is a real and quite common possibility.
Then, I just asked her honestly: now that I know all this craziness, is it actually worth the hassle? As a doctor, she gave the standard answer that every medication carries risks that might affect one person but not another.
But then, speaking purely as a human being, she told me that even if a pill is 97% safe, that's not enough for her to feel comfortable. She said she would definitely never trust the safety of a situation enough to let someone finish inside her.

It makes me look back at when I was young and reckless all those years ago. I used to take Triquilar... we were like rabbits, going all the way, every single time... and I honestly have no idea if I had any side effects because, frankly, I didn't care back then. Just young and wild.🙂

I know I can be a bit of a bore, but after reading the actual pamphlet that came with the pills, I’m just stunned. There are so many potential issues listed.

What if these problems hit me? What if my libido drops, I lose my natural lubrication, or I end up dealing with irritation and itching?

My boyfriend is totally against the idea now that I’ve laid out all these risks. But I can't keep living every month in fear, wondering if the withdrawal method actually worked or not... and condoms aren't an option because he loses his momentum the second he puts one on.😢

rapiddriver11 said:What exactly does the label say on that supplement my brother is taking?

It looks like "Mega Mass" or something around the 400 mark... honestly, the name alone feels a bit off to me. I mean, it's called "Mega Mass," yet they recommended it for weight loss? I just can't quite wrap my head around how those two things go together.🙂

Maybe I didn't express myself very clearly. It isn't that I'm afraid of getting too bulky or packing on too much muscle... I definitely understand what bodybuilding actually entails. 🙂
What really threw me off was seeing my brother drink the exact same protein supplement they offered me at my gym, except he's using it to gain weight.
He's incredibly skinny, so for him, it works perfectly for bulking up... My concern was that if I started taking it, I might end up working against my own fitness goals.

It seems like my best bet is to drive into the nearest major city and find a specialized nutrition shop where the staff can actually walk me through their inventory and advise me on which
product would be the right fit for me...

I need to ask something, but I’m struggling to phrase it properly without sounding tedious 🙂
Basically, I’ve been hitting the gym for about three months now and have already lost 7 kg. My cousin over in the States put together my workout routine and my meal plan; he
is a personal trainer, so he knows his stuff. I eat five meals a day, all timed out perfectly, and to keep this brief...
he suggested I should start using some kind of supplement, specifically protein or whey (assuming those are actually the same thing)...
To be more precise, he said I should have something I can consume during the day as a meal replacement, and that I also absolutely need to drink it
right after my workouts...presumably to prevent muscle wasting. He isn't exactly a native speaker, so I might have missed a few nuances in what he was saying 🙂
but from what I gathered, the goal is to help build muscle while I lose weight so I don't end up losing muscle mass along with the fat.
So, I decided to ask around at my local gym, but I honestly can't tell if the staff there just doesn't know much or if they're just trying to squeeze extra money out of me. They started listing a bunch of different products
that they claim I "need" to take...apparently, if I take this one, I have to take that one too because the first one won't work unless I combine it with the second, and the second won't work
unless I add a third thing... 🙂
It felt a little suspicious when they recommended the exact same protein my brother uses—but he's trying to bulk up and gain massive size—so I'm worried about picking the wrong thing for my goals.

I know I can be a bit much with these questions, but I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a specific brand or name of a protein so I can feel 100% confident in my choice.

One more thing: a friend of mine picked up some Twinlab Diet Fuel from a pharmacy for weight loss, and I'm wondering if that's actually effective or just a waste of money?

thanks
feralmaker60 said:I have personally relied on the services at Mayo Clinic 😁
and I can say quite clearly that while any kind of consultation there isn't exactly cheap, it is worth every single cent. You arrive exactly when you are scheduled, the work is handled with total professionalism—without those endless hours spent waiting for your turn—and the lab results come back incredibly fast 👍
considering how much injustice plagues the rest of the healthcare system in San Francisco. Between the months of unjustified waiting, the blatant lack of professionalism, the sheer amateurism, and the overwhelming incompetence found elsewhere—it is absolutely worth it 🙏

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of exams did you have done? 🙂
I think I might need to look into something similar because of some allergies I've been dealing with...
