Quick question. I recently saw a private OB-GYN, and she gave me a list of all the tests I need—hormone panels plus blood and urine work. She told me to grab the referrals from my primary care physician. Well, I went to see my doctor today, and she’s insisting she can't write the referral for those hormone tests just because I'm over 18. (She did give me the ones for blood and urine, though.) Then she basically sent me right back to my gynecologist. Can a private doctor even write a referral?
And is it actually true that my GP isn't allowed to give me that kind of referral anymore because I'm an adult?

Right, so for him it wasn't a failure, but for everyone dealing with the fallout, it was...
How exactly are we supposed to define a failed life here?🙂

Could people actually function without negative role models to learn from? 🤔
If they could, would those cautionary tales even have a point...

Though—and I don't mean to be rude—the lady above seems to have already judged those who've taken a wrong turn in life... 🤔
but if we go down that road, then people dealing with illnesses would be labeled as living "wasted" lives too... 🤷

Hmm... looks like we're missing a solid definition of what a "successful" life actually is here.

The thing is, lives are shaped by both outside circumstances and individual choices.
If someone makes a bad, destructive choice—and they know they're doing it, maybe even repeatedly—that leads to a general state of dysfunction.

When one piece of the puzzle doesn't fit, the whole picture suffers...
which means the entire life is affected.

With a sick person, things have also gone wrong, but it wasn't because of their own decision.🙂

Sure, you could call it a wasted life...
for example, the existence of some serial killer or absolute monster is nothing more than a total failure—they just headed down the wrong path.🤷
