Hey, sorry to just jump in like this, but is there an authorized external auditor on here? I have a few questions I wanted to run by someone, so...

Based on a true story? I think I'm going to go ahead and sketch that out. It wasn't even 😢

Is there any way I can swap this for a second time? I'm not really feeling the Federer one... I only picked it because it seemed convenient at the time.

Unfortunately, no.

I have one more question regarding the tickets... everything is legal, I just want to say upfront that it all seems fine... they lowered the sales tax from 25% down to 5%, and those three companies collaborating on the organization basically pocketed an extra 20% margin. Whatever, I guess 😁 business is business, simple as that...

What I mean is, I already paid a higher tax back in May, while someone else will pay a lower tax for the exact same ticket, you know? Even though the ticket price looks the same on paper, that's how they profited... I'm not in a worse position than other customers, but the point is they’re going to make an extra 20% on every single ticket because they kept the prices identical. All the organizers involved are just sitting pretty, I guess 😁

Maybe now I get why they waited until just a few weeks ago to release the tickets... maybe I'm wrong... it was probably just to maximize that profit...

The only thing bothering me is that I paid more in taxes to the government than anyone buying a ticket after July 1st, even though the concert isn't until August 13th. It's not really about the three companies organizing this event, it's about the US government! They put me in a disadvantageous position regarding taxes... but oh well, laws are what they are...
It just occurred to me when I saw the rate drop by 20% for concert tickets, so I called them to ask if I'd get a tax refund. They told me the price stays the same—of course they did, they aren't stupid given consumer protection laws; they just made sure to pocket that extra 20%.
It's the same thing as when restaurants had their sales tax cut to 10% and they just tucked that 15% margin into their pockets. It doesn't feel ethical, but hey, they'll pay corporate income tax eventually, right!! 😁

and edit: thanks, I started looking through the tax code on the IRS website. Rhode Island 😁

ruggedmaker2 said:I figured out the whole R1 and R2 thing is dead too.
But don't get it twisted—that doesn't mean you can claim every single receipt under the sun. You can still only deduct stuff that's actually made out to your business, and you can only claim input tax on invoices that check all the legal boxes required by the IRS.

I printed out the new tax code to pore over it myself; I want to have some solid questions ready to throw at the instructor during the seminar.

Oh, wait, I totally misread that. Let me fix myself—yeah, yeah! I misunderstood what happens when those R1 and R2 labels disappear... I thought it meant all receipts were basically the same now, but obviously, they still need to have all the essential info. 😁 I was so confused, honestly, I really need to stop skipping to the end of things. 😁 My bad.
Just one more thing: it sounds like whenever I'm buying stuff for the business with cash at a register, they’re going to ask if it’s for the company. 😁 I'm getting so tired of having to specify everything... I don't know how many times I've forgotten 😁 to mention it, though I doubt...
And sorry, one last little edit: where can I find that actual law? I'm really curious to dive into it and study... it's probably on the IRS website, I'll go look.

ruggedmaker2 said:I actually love the fact that we can finally write off pre-tax expenses using documents that aren't even officially labeled as "invoices," as long as they have all the right info on them.
We’ve got this one absolute genius vendor who keeps sending us these "payment summaries" instead of actual invoices just because he’s trying to dodge his tax liabilities for the month—he basically gives us 60-day terms so he can push the tax hit to the next month. 😁
Then, once we finally pay him based on his little "summary," only *then* does the guy grace us with an actual invoice.
Well, guess what? Under these new rules, that ridiculous "summary" counts for sales tax purposes just as much as a real invoice. 😁

Am I reading this right, though? Are those R1 and R2 designations on invoices officially dead now?

That bolded part is throwing me off a bit... how are there no more labels?
Maybe this is a "dumb" question since I'm not doing accounting professionally yet, but does this mean I can write off any receipt through the company regardless of what label it has? Like, I won't have to specifically ask for an R1 anymore? 😕 hm...

Man, I'd love to actually see that happen with a girl. 🤣

And it wasn't just that... I actually ended up breaking my ex-boyfriend's nose in his sleep. Well, maybe "breaking" isn't the right word, but since he's a boxer, he's pretty sensitive about it. He actually woke me up because he had to go to the bathroom, and when he came back, he was holding tissue to his nose. 😢
I'm pretty dangerous, but honestly, only when I'm asleep. 🙂
I scream, I yell, I vent... I don't do it all the time, obviously, but man, sometimes it just hits me. 😂

Larry Rivera2 said:Can someone actually answer this... Is it even possible to hack your sleep needs? Like, you’ve got a mountain of stuff to get done during the day, but since I need a solid 8-9 hours to function—otherwise I'm just a total wreck, cranky and moving in slow motion—I can't get through my to-do list. Some people seem fine on basically zero sleep, while others need an eternity. Can you actually train your body to run on less without feeling like garbage the next day?

I'll get back to you soon... I'm going to be testing this over the next four days because I've got a ton on my plate right now.

James Thompson12 said:Of course they're laid back. It's past midnight and here I am, still typing on a forum. If they weren't relaxed about delays, things would be different 😁

We'll see how long it lasts. I start at 9, but I'll probably find a way to be late again 😁. Honestly, though, that's why I was at work for a bit today (Sunday) to get stuff done, so we're even. But that's a whole other story.

You know, from what I can tell, once I'm asleep, I don't hear a thing. It's like I'm not even breathing. If there's any connection there, I guess.

🤣 Man, I toss and turn, sometimes I even laugh or yell in my sleep🤣 I move around so much by 4 AM... honestly, when my friends told me last summer while we were at the beach that I should probably have my own bed because I'm Mike Tyson, I totally got it...
My point is, I just don't notice any of it myself.🤣 I guess that's why I'm always so exhausted—because I'm basically boxing in my sleep and moving around like I'm doing high-intensity cardio training.🤣
I really feel bad for whoever I end up marrying or dating, seriously! That's why it might be best for everyone to just have their own rooms. Problem solved, right?

Must be nice. If my job was like that, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I've been dealing with this since 9... yeah, just perfect.

James Thompson12 said:Anything can happen, really. I'll try to cut back on the late nights. ☕ 😁

Look... when I was staying up all night with a friend, she actually told me I was breathing like a freight train and then just stopped breathing entirely🤣 She was genuinely scared if I was even still alive; she didn't even want to touch me. She thought it was funny at first, though I don't think it really was... I felt like she was just messing with me.
Then I realized my husband might be choking me in my sleep, which probably means I'm not getting enough oxygen. That's likely why I can sleep like a log but still feel exhausted all the time🤷 Or maybe it's just some kid thing, I honestly have no clue🤣
It sounds nice when people have those easy jobs🤣 If mine were like that🙂, but hey, when I actually have somewhere important to be, I'll just wake up at 4 AM if I have to. I'm never really "late"

James Thompson12 said:Haha, I’m in the exact same boat. I drift off almost instantly, but once I'm out, it's game over—I can barely wake up and I feel like a zombie all day. Even if my alarm goes off, I usually just crawl right back under the covers. If I don't get at least nine hours, I'm basically useless. I wish I had a physically demanding job just so I'd actually be tired enough to stay asleep 🙂

Man, I am so jealous of people who can function perfectly fine on just six hours of sleep 🙄

But what about you... do you just go back to sleep? 🤣😂
Man, if only six hours worked for me... I just can't seem to get up on time. Maybe it's just me, but I think I have breathing issues while I sleep, whether it's continuous or not. If you aren't getting enough oxygen while you sleep, it really sucks.
Plus, I need to get rid of these tonsils. I've got three of them and they're causing issues.
Maybe you should see a doctor. I think I'm going to look into whether this is an oxygen flow issue or something else.

It takes me about 30 minutes to an hour—sometimes even two hours—to actually drift off once I hit the pillow. I’m not doing anything, I’m not watching TV, nothing... but once I finally fall asleep, I’m out for a solid six hours straight.
Then there's the other issue. My eyes just pop open every single morning at 6:00 AM. It feels like someone is tapping me on the shoulder or an alarm is going off, even though I don't hear a thing. I just subconsciously roll over and then I can't really see again until around 9:00.🙂
I don't know... maybe the best thing would be to just get rid of all my clocks. That way, I wouldn't end up obsessing over those "famous" ten minutes that somehow always turn into three hours.
Is 30 Seconds to Mars actually coming? Man... don't mess with me... I think they're awesome!!

Nicholas King said:The whole point (not just here, but with any online community) Reddit subreddits is that what you write can be read "anytime, anywhere, by anyone." In that sense, I don't really get why someone would bother posting something if they then want to make it unreadable—it’s basically impossible to achieve anyway.

The advice about profile settings is mostly about those sections that people looking for even a tiny bit of privacy usually leave blank anyway. What she's really asking for is the impossible: you can only keep your private life to yourself by—well, keeping it to yourself and not posting it on the forum.

BTW, don't count on anonymity from forums, or even the Internet in general. There's really no such thing as anonymity on the web.

I mean, I know, but it just feels weird that everything is visible in one spot and available to everyone.
I get what you're saying, but fine, I'll just ask them to delete that one thing.
When I put myself out there...🙄 I didn't even know this was an option!
Thanks for the answer.

I'm not sure if there's already a thread about this or not.

So, here's the thing. I recently realized that anyone can basically see my posts along with everyone else's—especially any open threads, which are just served up on a silver platter.
I get why it works that way, but I was wondering if there's any way at all to limit those links so nobody can see them.
To be honest, it doesn't really matter much; we're all anonymous here and I don't know anyone, but the whole concept just feels a bit off to me. Hmm...
I don't have any experience with forums, none at all. I've never even been a member of anything before.
If it can't be changed, then whatever, I'll just stop posting. It isn't a big deal. I'm just asking out of curiosity because my private business will basically stay on the internet forever even though we're all anonymous, but still 🤣 anyone can read it, whenever, and wherever.
How do I delete my posts? in Forum Help! ·
Nothing, right? Honestly, I think I’m done posting for a bit. I just realized all my old posts and every single thread I've joined show up right there on my public profile. It’s kind of a nightmare... bye! How can I say I've done absolutely nothing? Jeez... maybe it's just best if I stop writing and head off the forum entirely 😁

And this setting doesn't help either... one accidental click and suddenly I've basically outed myself to every single one of my friends on here. Yikes. Just kidding, mostly.
Anyway, I won't be posting again until I figure out how to delete things or restrict my profile settings so everything isn't lumped together in one spot. It seems like those options don't even exist...
A friend of mine had her GP tell her she has leukemia... I mean, what are you even supposed to say to that? You can't just throw out serious diagnoses like that without running more tests first!
Then she called me and just started breaking down. It was a total Catastrophe. Of course they sent her for follow-up testing and everything turned out fine... She didn't just freak me out, though—she ended up stressing out everyone close to her too!!!
