Keith Moore21 said:Come on, please don't talk nonsense... It's because of people who don't understand the NBA—and who might read this and get greedy—that statements like those bolded parts happen. 🤦
Orlando showed that despite big changes and looking weaker on paper, they might not just be a punching bag after all. If their perimeter shooting clicks tomorrow, anything can happen. Especially since the Brooklyn Nets play catastrophic defense, and they likely won't even have Ben Wallace playing his best defensive game tonight. Plus, their offense still feels a bit disjointed...
The second game is even more nonsensical... Denver looks stronger on paper, and the Utah Jazz are notoriously bad on the road. I have no idea where you got the idea they've been convincing over the last few games... They beat the Los Angeles Lakers, who are a mess right now, and before that, they lost three straight on the road. Then, in their first home game, they took down the Dallas Mavericks without Dirk Nowitzki and Marcus Kaman... It's far from saying both visiting teams can't win—they certainly can—but let's dial back the extreme claims.
Utah has one of the best frontcourt rotations in the league. Meanwhile, Denver is incredibly thin at those positions... Iguodala hasn't quite integrated into the system yet, and it’s clear it'll take time to gel with the rest (which isn't easy). If we also consider that Danilo Gallinari and DeAndre Chandler haven't shown anything special this year, you can't expect miracles. By the way, to be clear—I actually really like Denver...
Orlando MIGHT win today if their shooting percentage stays above 0.9... If you compare the players and names on paper, you know this game could go one way... And dismissing a 1.75 koef. by saying JJ Redick might hit 20 threes is just ridiculous. Besides, nobody is forcing you to put $$ on these parlays... and nobody is forcing you to read other people's thoughts... so... 😉
The Pelicans are missing Anthony Davis, Doc Rivers, and Aaron Gordon. Meanwhile, Charlotte is without Henderson, who honestly just eats up too many possessions without being efficient. I think Charlotte should pull this one off... regardless, at this Coefficient, it's worth a shot. Washington, D.C. vs Milwaukee Bucks @
Washington, D.C. vs Milwaukee 2 @ 1.7
No Nene, no Ben Wallace... Milwaukee is coming in with a full roster. It's an easy win for them.
Orlando Magic vs Brooklyn Nets 2 @ 1.75
That Coefficient is basically a gift from the sportsbook.
Denver vs Utah 2 @ 2.5
Denver is still trying to find their rhythm. Utah has looked incredibly convincing over the last few games. The value here is great, so I’m taking this as a lock... anything other than a Utah win would be a total shock.
James Harden (-25.5) 1
They're facing the Memphis Grizzlies, one of the toughest defensive squads out there. Plus, they'll have Tony Allen shadowing him, and he's a lockdown defender. Looking at a clear under here.
Dwight Howard (-21.5) 2
Last year, the Golden State Warriors used the Hack-a-Shaq strategy against the Orlando Magic because they lacked the height to match up defensively. They'll likely do the exact same thing this year since Andrew Bogut isn't playing and they can't effectively guard Dwight Howard. I'm expecting at least 30 free throw attempts... add about 10 regular points to that, and we've cleared the line.

LeBron isn't playing, and now Wade is being questioned. If you factor in that he's still dealing with lingering injuries, plus his shooting was absolutely abysmal in the last game, and they clearly have no answer for breaking through the Atlanta defense... honestly, that 2.25 looks like a gift to me. Am I right? We'll find out in the morning. 🙂
The Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry... today's two picks are heavy hitters... high stakes involved here. Boston, the Knicks, and OKC... part two of the list... looking to recoup what we put up on the 😁
Philadelphia Hornets Minnesota/Miami (108.5) - Miami under Atlanta/New Jersey (81.5) - New Jersey over Jamison A (-17.5+) - under Steve Nash (-13.5+) - over Jennings B. (-20.5+) - under Derrick Rose (-24.5+) - under
Looking at Dallas at 2.8 against the Oklahoma City Thunder today... OKC is already facing their third game in just three days. Dallas can't afford to start the season 0-3. Might be worth putting some money down here. 😁
One leg: Deron Williams ... Washington is still way too weak to compete with anyone right now ...
Phoenix Suns vs Charlotte Hornets 2
The Hornets have leveled up. They look better than Phoenix at every single position except point guard ... With Andre Gordon and the Kaman vs Emeka Okafor duo in the paint, they should handle this one easily.
1/3 ... rough day ... Dwight Howard let me down on the first one, then the Memphis Grizzlies got me on the second ... At least this covers yesterday's bet if nothing else ...
It's a razor-thin margin. Who else is he going to score 30 against if not teams with defense this weak?
Bargnani isn't even close to being Toronto's top player... and 20 points is a pretty high bar in basketball. It's not something you just walk into, regardless of how easy it looks to us. I doubt he hits that, especially since it's the first game of the season. Avoid that pick, and skip the Durant one too. Everyone is sleeping on Minnesota, but mark my words, Oklahoma City Thunder is going to struggle, if they even win. As for Durant's over 28.5... maybe it's possible if Russell Westbrook wasn't on that OKC roster. If you caught yesterday's game, you could easily see that Russell Westbrook hasn't figured out how to pass yet. He spent most of the game charging toward the rim instead of moving the ball. Durant can't score without having the rock in his hands... and there can only be one ball on the court at a time. To me, that's a clear under.
Rose mentioned that helping the team find their rhythm matters way more to him this year than his own stats... so expect his scoring average to dip by at least 6 or 7 points 🙂
Keith Moore21 said:I never said he was a bad player, just wasn't particularly impressed... I get it, Nene is a classic center, but I'm wondering how he starts things off. Not sure. Personally, I don't think Haywood is a bad player either... obviously he isn't in peak form right now, but we'll see. All in all, I've got faith in the Mavs today...
Yeah... it would be a total disaster if last year's champs started the season 0-2.😁
Keith Moore21 said:I disagree. Even if they had an advantage at center, this guy isn't anything special. Plus, word is Nene should be playing the 4 tonight... and Haywood isn't actually as bad as he looked yesterday. He can play much better. Whether he steps up today? Who knows. 🤷
That’s just their starting five. Nene will definitely spend a good chunk of the game at the 5 because Denver only has three real big men to rotate through (Nene, Mozgov, Birdman, plus Koufos who might get 2-3 minutes, and Gallinari who'll mostly handle the 4... so the lineup will look more like—in MY opinion—Ty + Afflalo + Rudy/Farrier + Gallinari + Nene). Also, if you ever caught any of Mozgov's games over in Europe, you'd know he's a solid player. He just hasn't fully adjusted to the NBA pace yet. Regardless, he eats Haywood for breakfast. 😁
James Taylor3 said:I think the under looks like a strong play for the Charlotte vs. Milwaukee game. Both teams have some of the worst offenses in the league. Last season, the Bucks struggled in almost every offensive category, and Charlotte—now without Wallace or Jackson—hasn't been much better. Both squads play at a very slow pace and maintain decent defense. To me, the line feels a bit too high, so I’m taking the under with a 4/10 confidence level.
Believe me, after looking over today's slate, the first pick I considered was the under for MIL vs. CHA... but 180 felt a little steep to me. Especially considering how tonight's earlier games played out—practically zero defense and seeing something like 10 turnovers per quarter. That makes me lean toward the under more than anything else. Then again, who is actually going to score 90 points? CHA or MIL? Whoever answers that gets a million dollars, right? Just kidding. I know I'm contradicting myself, but it's still way too early in the season to call these over/under types until the offenses and defenses really find their rhythm.
boldgull20 said:Ever since Denver traded away Carmelo, they've been falling apart. They got lucky in the playoffs running into a hot Oklahoma team and barely lost 3-4. Plus, from that trade alone, they managed to beat Dallas three times out of three. The defending champs are stumbling again; they were invisible yesterday until garbage time, and they won't show up today either. San Antonio doesn't stand a chance against a great Memphis squad, the same one that knocked them out last year—and now Rudy Gay is back, putting up 20 points and 10 rebounds. 1.45? No way. Memphis takes it. Indiana is my most likely underdog pick.
True, but the Nuggets don't have the three guys who earned them that title last year. Missing J.R., Chandler, and Martin is going to be felt big time in tonight's game. Denver's only real edge is at center. Honestly, after watching Haywood and Cardinal at the five last night, I finally realized how much the Mavericks lost when Tyson left. It explains why another Finals run just isn't happening for them this year...
William Price66 said:Starting off with some college hoops, then moving on to the NBA later...
What does college have to do with the NBA?🤷
Here's what I've got:
1. PARLAY:
Orlando vs. Houston: 1
This one gives me the most anxiety...
San Antonio vs. Memphis: 2
Their playoff runs haven't been flukes... but the Spurs are getting older by the year...
2. PARLAY:
Washington vs. New Jersey: 2
One word: D-Will... Washington is just too young to compete with anyone right now...
Phoenix vs. Hornets: 2
The Hornets brought in some talent. Aside from PG, they look better at every spot than Phoenix... Gordon and the Kaman-Okafor center duo should handle this easily.
I honestly can't remember the last time Jamison dropped this many points... plus, you have to factor in that they’ve got Thompson, a rookie playing his exact position. Word is the front office wants to build around him, so Jamison’s minutes are likely going to be pretty limited...
Howard D(-22,5+) - over
Is Howard playing poorly just to show the owners he wants an out from Orlando? Or did he just have a bad night yesterday? Either way... if he’s looking to make up for that performance, he’ll easily clear 22 points...
Granger A.(-19,5+) - under
Indiana is much like Philly—they’re a true team-first squad. It’s totally normal to see five different guys hitting double digits because they distribute the ball so well. Because of that balanced scoring, I don't see Granger putting up huge numbers here...
I’ll probably put together another parlay later, but I’m thinking about putting down a nice little stake on this one.
Writing this on behalf of my girlfriend... her period was about 5 or 6 days late. When it finally arrived yesterday, it was just a few drops of dark, clotted blood. She’s also been dealing with intense abdominal pain over the last couple of days—to the point where she can barely walk. On top of that, she has a headache, stomach pains, and nausea; she feels like she needs to throw up but nothing happens. I'm not sure if she has a fever. Her family has all had clear tests, so I don't think it's an infection. She’s being stubborn about seeing a doctor or gynecologist, so I'm hoping someone here can offer some "online" advice. Thanks much.
EDIT: Last month her period came two weeks early, and she’s been under massive stress lately with work... thanks.
