Deron Williams over 19.5 @1.85
The Miami Heat have this absolute beast of a defense, but honestly, they still seem a bit relaxed since we're just getting the season started. Their point guard situation looks pretty thin right now, and I really think the best player on the Brooklyn Nets is going to exploit that weakness. I mean, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade probably won't be burning themselves out trying to cover him, so there’s a massive chance Deron Williams finds his rhythm here.
Ty Lawson over 14.5
We've got two teams that love to run and score, and I'm betting tonight follows that same script. Lawson is facing Jeremy Lin, who isn't exactly a defensive powerhouse, so that could open up some easy buckets for Lawson. Plus, Denver only had nine guys available yesterday because of all the injuries floating around, so Lawson will likely see more minutes than usual, which is a nice little bonus.

LA Clippers vs San Antonio Spurs 2
Man, I’m telling you, the oddsmakers are absolutely ruthless! Yesterday the line was sitting at 2.05, but then they went and slashed it down to somewhere between 1.85 and 1.90 depending on which sportsbook you were looking at—they seriously don't leave a single thing to chance, do they? It's like they know exactly what we're thinking before we even think it! Anyway, looking at the matchup, the San Antonio Spurs are coming out of the gate swinging just like they finished last season, sitting pretty with a 4-0 start, while the home team is struggling big time, dropping two straight games right in front of their own fans. If you look at the recent momentum, though, the Spurs have been absolutely dominant, walking away with a win in six of their last seven outings. They just seem to have that edge right now, you know?
Houston vs Denver? Man, I'm looking at that spread and thinking—are we really doing this? Houston at -2.5 against Denver... seriously? You honestly think Houston has enough juice to cover that much against a Denver squad that plays like they're possessed by the spirit of pure dominance? It feels like a trap, man, a total setup! Like, do people even realize how tough Denver can be when they get rolling? I mean, you look at the matchups and you just start questioning everything. Is it actually possible? Or are we all just walking straight into a buzzsaw here? I don't know, I'm leaning toward Denver covering, because honestly, who's going to stop them?
I mean, look, once you factor in James Harden and Jeremy Lin, we’re talking about a completely different beast of a squad, right? You could see that vibe from the jump—they came out swinging with those two wins, and man, Brandon Knight was absolutely cooking out there! They only stumbled and took a loss in overtime last time out, but honestly, I think they should handle the visitors today. I’m not exactly shaking in my boots or anything, because let’s be real, this opposing team doesn't exactly inspire a ton of confidence in me. They just don't look the part, you know what I mean?
Tim Duncan over 16.5
So, I placed a little bet the other day that ended up being a total loser, but honestly? Who cares? It wasn't even a bad call, it just didn't matter because they were already blowing the doors off the Indiana Pacers by such a massive margin that there was zero reason to push it. But look, I’m seeing him again today, and I've got my eyes on him—I'm expecting him to be out there for at least 30+ minutes and looking to take 15+ shots. You watching? Because I am.
I’m looking at that Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards matchup, specifically thinking about whether we’re seeing the under on 186.5 points—and man, let me tell you, I’ve got some serious doubts about this one! Do we really think these two teams are going to turn into a track meet and just trade buckets until the lights go out? It feels like such a stretch! You look at the pace, you look at how these defenses have been playing lately, and you gotta wonder if anyone actually has the gas in the tank to push a score north of 186. Is that even realistic? I honestly don't see it happening, so I'm leaning heavily toward the under!
I mean, honestly, all I can say is that the visitors are absolutely gutted because they’re missing three of their absolute best guys—Wall, Nenê, and Timofey Mozgov. Seriously, how are they even supposed to compete? I'm sitting here looking at this roster and I genuinely don't see anyone who can step up and fill those shoes. Who on earth is going to replace that kind of production? It's a total disaster!🤷Man, looking at the numbers, almost every single squad besides the Boston Celtics has been staying under that 90 point mark against the Miami Heat lately. I mean, seriously, can we even call it high scoring anymore? Just a few days ago, we saw a total of 175 points dropped on the floor, but honestly, looking at the vibe today, we might be looking at an even lower turnout. Who knows? It feels like the scoring just isn't there right now!
Are we seriously looking at Jennings over 17.5? I mean, come on, are we actually doing this right now? Is anyone else seeing this, or am I just losing my mind? It feels like every time we look at these lines, they’re set just high enough to make you second-guess everything, but honestly, how can you not see the potential here? You look at the matchup and the volume he's getting lately, and you really have to wonder if the oddsmakers are even watching the same games we are! It's driving me crazy!
Man, that last one totally screwed me over! He only put up 13 points—shooting 4-of-8—but honestly, looking at how few shots he even took, I was expecting way more. Today, though? I’m expecting total, absolute domination. If they pull this off and take a 3-0 lead, it would be the most insane start they've had since the 2005/06 season. Plus, in the last head-to-head matchup where they walked away with the win, he absolutely went nuclear and dropped 24. So yeah, I'm feeling it!

13 wins and 12 losses. Seriously? How are we even looking at a record like that right now? It’s just one of those things that makes you want to throw the remote through the TV, you know what I mean? You look at the standings and you just see this messy, middle-of-the-road disaster staring back at you!

Kobe's dealing with some ankle issues today, so he might be limited. Because of that, I went with Kobe under 27.5, Dwight Howard over 21.5, and Orlando + 6.5 in a little parlay
If Kobe even steps on the court tonight, I doubt he hits that number. That makes me expect a big night from Howard since he'll have to step up without Kobe, and his form is looking great lately...
As for Orlando, they're playing incredibly well. I caught the first half of their game against the Bulls and everything is clicking surprisingly well. I'm expecting them to win outright, but I took this spread just to be safe...

Plus, the Spurs have won 6 of their last 7 games...

I put a single bet on this one. Just to give you a little more context—Blake Griffin is dealing with an elbow injury, so his availability for tonight is up in the air. That’s just one more solid reason to take this bet...

Pinnacle is offering decent @1,741 ML on the Rockets. I guess James Harden is the story of the week in the league, but it's not just about him; the whole Rockets squad reacted really well to the season opener. They started with those two road wins in Detroit and against the Atlanta Hawks, then hit an unexpected snag losing their home opener to the Portland Trail Blazers. In all three games, they basically relied on pure talent and raw strength. There’s clearly a lack of chemistry, which is what Kevin McHale warned about. They’ve had a few days since the last game to look at the tape, and maybe we'll see some adjustments today—mostly on offense, because I don't think it's realistic to expect James Harden to carry everything forever. He's averaging over 40 minutes right now, which he almost never did back with the Oklahoma City Thunder last year. It might not be an issue this early in the season, but you have to keep him fresh, and I think that's what McHale is thinking about. Their wing positions are solid with some real blue-collar players, which is huge when you have guards like James Harden and Jeremy Lin who need that rebounding support to play at such a high tempo. Of course, we're back to the chemistry issue again. Averaging 20 turnovers through the first three games is a direct result of them not being in sync yet. On the bright side, the Rockets have dominated the boards in all three games. Averaging over 50 rebounds, including 17 offensive ones, gives them plenty of second-chance opportunities. Personally, I'm expecting more from Carlos Delfino on the offensive end today. That said, I wouldn't call this an easy night for the Rockets; they're facing a very good team that deserves respect. The Nuggets have dropped two games they really shouldn't have to start the season, losing to the 76ers and the Orlando Magic. To me, there are two main issues here: Andre Iguodala hasn't quite found his rhythm yet, and someone on the opposing roster seems to dominate the paint against them every single night—whether it's Chris Bosh, Anthony Davis, or Mario Chalmers. They have a pretty thin rotation, and they're playing on the second night of a back-to-back. Maybe a back-to-back isn't a dealbreaker this early in the year, but the fact that the Rockets have four days of rest and played their last game at home, while the Nuggets are playing on a back-to-back away from home, means they likely won't have the same level of freshness. That matters for how both these teams play.

Tsigalko 11 said:Don't kid yourself thinking he won't drop buckets if Kobe plays. If I remember right, there were rumors about an injury right before the start of the season, but he still suited up and dropped something like 40 points...

If a player is ready, they’re ready to go full throttle. If they aren't, they sit—especially in the NBA. With such a long season, one of the league's biggest superstars isn't going to risk a major injury just for one win when the championship is the real goal. On the flip side, if he's healthy enough to play, there's no reason to hold back. We've seen that happen plenty of times before.

Plus, everyone knows Kobe is the type of guy who rarely misses games. He’s played half a season with a broken finger before and still put up massive numbers...

I know there were injury rumors before too and Kobe just powered through, but the question is how much they can afford to risk now that he's not around. Personally, I don't think he'll start the game, but if things get tight late in the fourth, I can see him coming off the bench to sink some crucial shots.
But honestly, it's all just guesswork. We'll just have to wait and see... 🙂

18.5/Curry
23.5/Kyrie Irving

Personally, I don't think he'll start, but if things get tight toward the end of the game, I don't see why they wouldn't bring him in to sink a few clutch shots.
But honestly, it’s all just pure speculation at this point, so we'll just have to sit tight and wait for the actual news to drop 🙂

Look, if Kobe plays, he’s playing at least thirty minutes and taking at least twenty shots, period. In the last twelve years, he’s only come off the bench once, assuming NBA.com isn't full of it, so I really doubt he's going to start riding the pine today.☕

17.5/Lou Williams over 1.85

On the other side, you can't really count on Morris & Blake to lock things down defensively.
But man, Lou Williams is absolutely cooking right now, averaging 20.8 PPG!

Since they're playing at home, and given that Richard Jefferson isn't exactly looking to go crazy from deep lately (especially since he's staring down a matchup with Dwight Howard, so I don't see him letting it fly too much) along with Nicolas Batum, I really think Lou is going to grab a few extra shots beyond his usual average.

Under 23.5 @1.85 🤷

19 pts. ☕

Niko Petković over 15.5 @1.85

Averaging 15 PPG. He’s heating up lately—taking way more shots—and facing Andrew Davis who's gonna be struggling to cover him... definitely seeing value here, probably clears this line easily...

Look, let's not waste time talking nonsense—let's actually have a constructive discussion instead of just running this stupid loop😉

A "constructive discussion" isn't just throwing out player pairings and fishing for comments.

If you wanted a real conversation, you would've shared your own take on the pairing first and then asked what everyone else thought about it.

New Orleans-Philadelphia 181.5 Under
Both squads are dealing with a massive headache regarding injuries—the home team is missing Eric Gordon, and man, losing his 20 points per game average is gonna sting big time for their offense...
As for the visitors, they’re without Andrew Bynum and Kwame Brown... plus they've lost Andre Iguodalu, Elton Brand, and Lou Williams to the injury report. Sure, they'll have some bench guys stepping up, but let's be real—this is an offense that isn't going to be lighting it up anytime soon, at least not until they get Bynum and Brown back in the rotation.
I just don't see them cracking the 90-point mark.
The Hornets will probably run with Andrew Davis—he's a bit of a question mark, but he'll likely suit up.
Either way, if you ask me, the odds are heavily leaning toward the under...

If I missed something obvious or totally misread the situation, please set me straight early. 😛

either way, if you ask me, the odds are heavily leaning toward the under...

If I missed anything or totally misread the situation, please jump in and set me straight early!😛

Actually, Davis isn't playing. And neither is Jerry Richardson for Philly.

Regarding the pick itself, Philly had a pretty rough shooting percentage over their last two games, but keep in mind they were playing against the NYK, who are looking really sharp right now. I don't think they'll be that bad from deep tonight. The Hornets lack some depth, but they actually have a slight edge in the frontcourt since Kwame Brown & Andrew Bynum are out, even though Al Jefferson and Andrew Hawes are holding things down there. On the flip side, Philly has a much more potent backcourt. Oh, and by the way, Doc Rivers is out for the NOH.

All in all, I'm riding with the under. But let's keep it moderate.
Good luck! 😉

The Miami Heat have a pretty rough defensive setup right now, though I guess they're still kind of coasting since we're only at the start of the season. Their biggest weakness is definitely at the point guard spot, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the star player over in Brooklyn smells blood and exploits that gap. They’ll probably try to keep LeBron James and Dwyane Wade fresh by riding him less, which leaves a massive opening for Deron Williams to step up and run things.
I’m leaning toward Ty Lawson going over 14.5 on this one. I mean, I guess we'll see how it plays out, but honestly? Seems like a solid play to me. Maybe he hits it, maybe he doesn't, but I'm feeling it.
This matchup features two teams that absolutely love to run and score, so I’m betting we’re in for a high-scoring affair tonight. Since Ty Lawson is going up against Jeremy Lin—who, let's be honest, isn't exactly a defensive powerhouse—Ty could easily rack up some easy buckets. Plus, the Denver Nuggets were stuck playing with just nine guys yesterday because of all the injuries floating around, so Ty should see a decent bump in minutes tonight. That’s definitely a nice little bonus for him.

Ty Lawson might be a bit more of a routine player, I guess, but man, Deron Williams was just on another level. 😢

It’s not exactly a massive offer or anything, but if you're looking for a smaller stake, I'd say this is the play 👍
OKC 2 @1.85
The Bulls have had a decent start, I guess, but let's be real—their schedule hasn't been exactly grueling. They struggled against an Orlando Magic squad that honestly couldn't have been any weaker, and even against a top-3 team, they just didn't look like they belong. Maybe Luol Deng can hold his own against Kevin Durant for a bit, but trying to shut down both Russell Westbrook and Gerald Martin? Yeah, probably not happening. OKC hasn't exactly been lighting the league on fire lately, so maybe it's finally time for them to actually get moving and start stacking some wins.
