I disagree; Mercedes isn't making any excuses here. In fact, they didn't even file an appeal against the FIA's decision.
graniteharbor502 said:We are really discussing what transpired behind the scenes here, aren't we? If the rumors are actually true—those whispers suggesting they intended to blame Max's interference with Lewis's rear wing—then I can only describe such a move as the desperate act of a cornered soul.

Max's contact violates the strict rules regarding cars in parc fermé. Only official personnel are permitted to touch them.

You’re throwing out criticisms against Red Bull over absolutely nothing, and then you have the nerve to write stuff like this....
So, let me get this straight: he starts the sprint from the very back, and then on top of that, he’s forced to drop another five positions in the main race?
Just an hour before the start of qualifying, the Red Bull Racing technical staff entered the office with a massive amount of data and video footage regarding the Mercedes rear wing.

Is this how they plan to grab the headlines? Seriously?
In a world where NASCAR actually applied its own rules consistently, this would have been an outright disqualification, much like what happened to Sebastian Vettel.

Even on a Mercedes-Benz track, Bottas isn't going to touch an RB.
Getting past Max during the race is going to be a nightmare—we should probably expect some aggressive driving from him.

I wouldn't call this Mercedes-Benz territory. The elevation at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is roughly 700 meters—not nearly as high as the altitude we deal with in Mexico, obviously—but as we clearly saw last weekend, that thinner air provides a massive advantage to Honda.

No way, he absolutely dominated the entire field...
Lujo was truly impressive today.

🙂

That’s exactly why they call him Mr. Saturday, not Mr. Friday.
What an absolute masterclass from Max at the start 🙏 🙏 🙏

Haha, it’s certainly a possibility. 🍿

Once we finally shake off this post-race slumber, we’ll be heading to the USA next weekend.

And wouldn't you know it, we're stuck with another one of those lackluster sprint races at Interlagos. 😠

Max Verstappen, doing what he always does.

Just look at that title...

Drew Bennett68 said:They actually sent Valtteri Bottas out to grab the fastest lap even though he wasn't even in the top 10!?

Essentially, they're stripping Max Verstappen of that fastest lap point and that single extra point. It doesn't matter if Valtteri Bottas finished outside the top 10; the tactical move still impacts the standings.

The Ferrari pit stop today was absolutely anything but smooth 👍

Oh, Valtteri Bottas. It just isn’t going to happen for you today.
