Dealing with chronic stress in Health ·
I’m dealing with that eyelid twitching too... not to mention this shortness of breath I've been struggling with for a year and a half now. Even though my heart and lungs are perfectly fine—I actually had both checked out back when this all started eighteen months ago—it's still happening.
You're only 17 and already dealing with stuff like this? Honestly, I can't say I'm much older and have it any easier. 🙂
I was on medication for about two and a half years, but I haven't touched it since... I mean, you can actually manage a lot of this just by adjusting what you eat, if you ask me.

Sometimes I feel like I can't even breathe, 🤷
it's the worst. The only way I get any relief is by lying down in a certain position.
That nausea you're feeling is probably just from the gastritis.
Gastritis causes all that bloating, which pushes against your diaphragm—just like azamaz mentioned—and that's what triggers those breathing issues.

So what are you doing about it? I've heard of GERD before, but I'm not entirely sure what it actually entails... does this happen to you all the time? :S
Is anyone else over this?😢

I deal with terrible shortness of breath and bloating all the time. It’s actually easier when I lie down because the gas settles lower in my abdomen, but man, sitting or standing up is the absolute worst...

For me, it’s actually the opposite sometimes. When it hits, I find that walking around helps; staying seated or lying down just makes it feel worse. Have you noticed if there's a link to what you eat? Because for me, it definitely happens when I overeat, though occasionally it just hits out of nowhere. Also, have you been officially diagnosed with gastritis or anything?
And what if I didn't say everything was fine? I honestly thought I had, haha. I’ve had my thyroid checked, my lungs—I did every single test imaginable, okay? My heart too... everything came back clear. But still, it hits me out of nowhere from time to time. It actually just happened to me a couple of hours ago...
So, who else??
I’ve been dealing with gastritis for over two years now. But since last year—and especially lately—I keep getting this feeling like I can't catch my breath. My heart feels fine, everything else seems okay, but it happens constantly alongside nausea. Can these actually be linked? Thanks
Thanks everyone 🙂
I’m having a hard time tracking down those movies, even though I know there must be millions of them out there somewhere, haha.
Hey everyone, I’m obsessed with movies set in those small-town American settings from back in the day. You know the vibe—the whole town basically revolves around one local diner or tavern where everybody hangs out, and that's where all the drama or action actually goes down. The genre can be anything, really. I'm even into the 40s, though I prefer seeing Life in the North or just peaceful everyday life rather than constant war stories. If anyone has some solid recommendations, I would be more than grateful! Cheers 🙂

Look, if nothing else, you’ve only got one more year left before you head off to high school. Once you're there, it's a completely different environment, and you can finally leave these insecure kids in the rearview mirror. Just hang in there—I truly wish you the best. Besides, you don't have to limit yourself to your current classmates; I always found it much easier to make friends with people from other schools anyway. 🙂

I had a standard procedure done, including an ultrasound and a physical exam by my surgeon, so I don't think it's anything major. It’s been going on since last Tuesday, so I’ve already ruled out a simple virus. Now I'm just terrified it's actually gastritis and I'll end up having to go in for an endoscopy.😢

I’m not scheduled for surgery until May 22nd, and I haven't been taking any medications or anything else. I think I'll probably need to get tested for H. pylori, and maybe even undergo a gastroscopy too.😢

Is it seriously impossible for anyone to have an answer, some advice, or even just a single thought on this?

Since last Monday—so over ten days now—I’ve been dealing with this muscle tightness in my abdomen. I figured it was just related to my recent appendectomy, but an abdominal ultrasound came back completely clear. Then things took a turn on Wednesday; I started feeling nauseous and had this heavy sensation in my stomach. My gastroenterologist didn't think a gastroscopy was necessary yet, and then at the urgent care clinic, the doctor suggested it might just be some kind of stomach virus. He told me if it doesn't clear up, I'll need to go in for a gastroscopy. Things have improved slightly over the last three days, but I still haven't had a bowel movement. I honestly don't know what else to do.
