I made a video about ghosts—why was my thread closed? [D] in Feedback & Suggestions ·

Thank God I have a friend who actually believes this stuff—he’s given me all sorts of advice regarding Ouija boards and whatnot. People aren't buying it because you didn't film from a distance or set things up properly, which you really should have done. Dammit, I believe you, though, because I know you don't have any magnets lying around and you were eating semolina—you don't mess around like that. So, here's the plan: you're going to make the semolina again, I'll step out of the frame, and then you film everything. From the prep work to pouring the semolina, leave the damn cabinet doors wide open so everyone can see there's nobody hiding underneath. If something actually moves after that, we can take it to the New York Times, and maybe—just maybe—we'll finally get an exorcist to show up and help us out.
Look, I know what I did was incredibly stupid—total lapse in judgment—but man, if only I had known. People online post these pictures where everything looks white, but when you actually squeeze them, they turn blue. These ones were white with this weird greenish tint right in the middle of the cap. She’s insisting they're just common field mushrooms, but I have a feeling she's dead wrong. For our local varieties here in the States, a moderate dose is usually around 10 grams because the psilocybin content is lower. We've got a baby on the way, too—and honestly, if I end up poisoned, maybe I deserve it—but I figured, hey, let's just wing it, how much harm could it do? I didn't realize I was dealing with a toxic mushroom. Now I'm just sitting here waiting for the reaper to show up. Last week, we had a pipe burst in the apartment and water was leaking everywhere; nobody believed me when I called the plumber. He told me we all could have died from the mold buildup because urbandrifter8 didn't even notice the smell. And now this. I'm 23, so I'd hope the symptoms would hit soon—maybe some swelling in my limbs or intense stomach cramps.

Stop trolling. There's a species of psilocybe native to this part of the country that looks almost identical to them—when they're young, the resemblance is striking. Why would anyone just make that up? I was out foraging in the woods near St. Louis recently and ended up eating about ten small dandelions because I was convinced they were the real deal. Then, just yesterday and the day before, I spotted some that look suspiciously like *cyanescens*. If I start feeling symptoms, don't even think about labeling me an addict or having some doctor talk down to me.
Alexander Thompson said:How do you know they were pupae now if you didn't know that three days ago? Whatever, man... just go to the ER... the "natural remedy" for you is a liver transplant...

And people say Darwin was a fool...

Actually, I don't feel bad at all—my stomach isn't even acting up. My girlfriend found a few in my backpack and told me to get those pupae out of the apartment immediately; I just looked at her and said, "I already ate them."
Three days ago, I was out in the woods thinking I’d found some hallucinogenic psilocybe. I managed to knock back about seven small ones. Then yesterday and today, I picked some others—the kind that might actually be toxic—though they looked almost identical to the psilocybe cyanescens I saw before. My girlfriend basically kicked me out the door and sent me straight to the ER about two hours ago once she realized what I’d swallowed. To make matters worse, the doctor there was incredibly dismissive; she told me they wouldn't even admit me unless I were in a coma, essentially saying I was playing games with my life. She then had the nerve to suggest that once I end up in the infectious disease ward, she’ll have plenty of time to "play" with me when my liver starts failing. I honestly don't get that kind of attitude. I'm typing this on my phone while everyone else is asleep. What am I supposed to do here? Is there any actual natural remedy for poisoning? She claimed she didn't have the time to run blood tests because she had much more serious cases to deal with. Wikipedia says a lethal dose is 30 grams, and I think I took somewhere between 15 and 20. Right now, my stomach is killing me and I've got acid burning all the way up my throat.

Those were never actually suicide attempts. I just wanted to move on to a better plane of existence because, based on my metaphysical outlook, death isn't some final curtain call. I don't believe in it...
... you know, there is a tiny, infinitesimal chance that it actually *is* the end... what then?

Anyway, are all people on "alternative" paths like this?

nah, not really
I'm the guy from the previous post.
It’s not that I’m obsessed with reptiles—though, sure, I’ve read Ichigo, devoured Castaneda, and spent plenty of time meditating while on psychedelics, deliriants, or even nutmeg.
But honestly, most of my insights were things I had to figure out on my own.
I can’t say I’m having psychotic episodes every single day,
and I know for a fact this isn't psychosis, even if certain tryptamines can leave you feeling some lingering schizophrenic symptoms.

It all started when I was seventeen; I told my psychologist that I believed in aliens and human telepathy, and his immediate response was to prescribe me Zyprexa... on top of everything else, I was internally struggling with whatever I could find to numb the pain.
Xanax, alcohol, nutmeg, and being high at school every damn day.
I eventually ended up at the psychiatric ward in Arlington due to poly-substance abuse and frequent pill overdoses—mostly because I couldn't stop being disappointed in myself. Even the older folks in the family used to tell me I was ruining their lives and bringing shame to the whole name.

I’d do stupid things that weren't easily fixable... sometimes, I just wanted to escape the burden of being me.

To be clear, those were never actual suicide attempts; I just wanted to transition to a "better" world because, based on my metaphysical views, death isn't the end. I don't believe in it. I realize how incredibly illogical that sounds—as if everyone should just end it. It makes it look like I'm just playing the part of a mental patient to cause trouble because I have nothing better to do. And often, after taking too much nutmeg or other substances, the world just turns dull, and my emotions go completely flat for a few days.

I'm not afraid of reptiles. I view the theory about reptilian humanoids with a healthy dose of humor—there is so much we don't know, so why wouldn't there be reptiles?

placidwalker53, I don't recall ever saying I was going to jump off a bridge.

I didn't realize everyone saw me as someone making suicide threats. I don't want to die; I just want to live better... but what's the point of living if everyone is convinced I'm mentally ill?
Sometimes I intentionally lean into a "crazy" persona just to redirect attention toward me, but people actually believe it, and that ends up leaving permanent scars on my relationships.

Sorry, ap, I didn't mean for it to happen, but after so many years of obsessing over the idea that the world is a dream, I think I've become the sleeping man, and waking up is getting difficult.
I sleep, and I drift into the infinite.

Peace.
