Don't sweat it, things have a way of working themselves out. Honestly, my guy didn't really seem to "get it" until I was showing pretty clearly and he could actually feel the baby moving. It’s like they aren't even watching the same movie we are.
After that, he was constantly rubbing my belly, talking to it, singing... you know the drill. He was an absolute rock during labor, too. And now? He’s just this incredible dad that our daughter absolutely adores.
As long as they come into this world healthy and strong, that’s all I really care about 🙂
So, have you actually had your baby yet? 😱
Hey there. Is it possible to make a change to Michael Martin4...?
Nah, can't do it...
😂 caught her right from the start 😉
I know this is totally off-topic, but my grandma was telling me how back when she was pregnant, they used to haul her straight from the farm on some old moped to the hospital in NYC (like 31 miles). Then my grandpa would show up to pick her and my mom up from the hospital on a bicycle—thank God he just dropped them off at the bus station 😁
So, what can I even say? My old man—he's a retired cop—is constantly going on about how people today overreact to everything regarding AS. He’s always bringing up how he used to drive me and my sister back and forth from DBK to NYC all the time when we were kids back when we lived in DBK, just cruising in an old Yugo, and everything was perfectly fine. 🙄 I mean, why should I be surprised by the gripes at work then?
I guess his own dad used to haul him around in the back of a pickup truck. ☕
Yesterday I was out grabbing coffee with a friend who has two kids, and this guy actually tried to force me into the backseat because apparently pregnant women in their third trimester aren't allowed to wear seatbelts. Honestly, I was just annoyed, so I sat in the back anyway and buckled up. ☕
I’m still driving, obviously, and buckling up feels totally normal to me—the belt just sits low across my belly and between my breasts. But driving without a seatbelt? That feels 😲!!
Also, people constanty get on my case about our stroller. We bought the Chicco umbrella stroller with the zero position option, but without the bassinet attachment. Now, the local busybodies are acting all shocked and asking if I’ve lost my mind for wanting to push the baby in just the stroller.
Oh, and I swung by work the other day for my usual paycheck, and some coworkers—they’re like 50 or 55—started judging me. They were questioning why I wear tight clothes when they all used to wear baggy stuff, even checking my shirt to see if it was stretchy enough or if it would squeeze the baby 🙄 while simultaneously preaching that you should just hold the baby in your lap instead of using a car seat 🙂
It honestly bugs me so much that whenever I show up for a checkup, the first thing everyone asks is, "So, how many pounds did you put on?"
I mean, is that really the most important thing? I guess not. My arms, legs, and butt all look totally fine, but my stomach is just huge. 🙄
🤣 Oh man
So, some random guy totally pulls up next to me in front of a Starbucks the other day, just to congratulate me. Apparently, he’s thrilled to see our numbers growing or whatever 😍
Then, he spends the next ten minutes begging me not to be mad at him for even bringing it up 😂 Mickey
That "I Was Once an Embryo" group is seriously getting on my nerves. It’s just awful 🙂🙂
It honestly gets under my skin when people start calling me "mommy" or, even worse, "mama"—like we’re actually related or something. My own mom just calls me her kid, and that’s plenty for me.
It’s just awful. And man, the pressure to get married just because I’m pregnant is driving me insane. Everyone acts like something scandalous "happened" since we aren't married yet 🙄
I saw you guys talking about that whole "we'll see" nonsense earlier... honestly, that’s just straight up 🙂
Anyway, we’re waiting on a little girl, and no, everything doesn't need to be pink or red.
But like Michael Martin4 says, I’m basically just one giant ball of hormones right now.☕
Hey, just let me know where exactly you picked up the Budelin, and what kind of price we're looking at? Also, do you actually need a prescription for it, or is just showing them your medical history enough? Thanks a ton
Hey, I could really use some help here. My doctor just wrote me a prescription for Tafen Novolizer (Budelin), but apparently, it’s nowhere to be found in the US or even over in Canada. Word is there might be a shortage?
Does anyone have any leads on how I can actually track down some Tafen Novolizer? Thanks.
So, a coworker of mine just had a baby after being with her partner for seven years. 😁
It feels like everyone is constantly breathing down my neck, asking when I’m getting married, or if I’m pregnant, or when the wedding is even happening. Honestly, it used to drive me crazy, but I’ve already done some digging online 😉 and I just don't get why people think those two things have to go hand in hand. ☕
I’m honestly just so frustrated because I can't seem to actually relax and enjoy this pregnancy. Everything is going perfectly fine—there's really nothing to worry about, except for this stupid ureaplasma thing. I just keep obsessing over whether I did something or ate something that might hurt the baby 🙄
It’s seriously getting on my nerves 🙂 and I am just counting down the minutes until my checkup today
So, by pure chance, I ended up having to shovel the snow in front of the office. It wasn't even a big deal, honestly—not particularly exhausting or anything. I just got it all cleared and salted, and everything looked great.
A few hours later, my neighbor from the building next door wanders over and asks if I have any salt he could borrow. Then, he has the nerve to comment that since we were already out there shoveling, we might as well have done his two feet of walkway too. I just looked at him and said, "Sir, I was the one doing the clearing" (I mean, obviously, I'm pregnant).
And then he goes, "Well, you could've just done my two feet while you were at it." 😲😲
Honestly, I was just stunned. I didn't even know how to respond. Look, I'm not asking for anyone to walk on eggshells around me, but some things are just way too much. 😕
It was actually kind of sweet when a couple of my guy friends were messing around and poking my stomach one day 😍 I mean, one of them has been my absolute best friend for ages, and the other is basically just my girl friend's boyfriend. It didn't bother me at all.
Lately, people I'm not even that close with haven't really touched me🙂
And look, it’s not that I’m super annoyed or anything, but it feels weird how everyone keeps badgering me about getting married, like they're worried about how I'll have kids if I'm not married or something.😲😲
The second they find out I'm pregnant, it's nothing but "So, when's the wedding?!"🤣😕
So my self-appointed moral guardians—aka my aunt and mom—are totally coming for me because I’m taking prenatal vitamins on my doctor's orders. Apparently, they think just eating "healthy" was enough for them, which is funny considering my aunt smoked through both her pregnancies and my partner's brother was actually born premature, but hey, I guess that doesn't count. 😕
Then the other day, I mentioned over coffee that I don't want anyone visiting for the first month and a half after the baby comes, except for my parents and my partner's folks. And this friend of mine goes, "Oh, that wouldn't apply to you, we'd be there immediately," and then proceeds to list everyone: herself, her husband, her mom—who's my godmother—and her four-year-old. 🙄 And get this, she had the baby all by herself and spent the whole time complaining about how everyone kept showing up and expecting her to cook for them, not to mention how they basically turned her entire backyard into a disaster zone. 😲
My little guy is honestly just vibing right now—he's being super chill, kind of lazy, and honestly, he’s making me feel even more out of shape than I already am, because 🙂
It’s not like I’m skipping the hair dye altogether, I’m just waiting until I get through this first trimester... so yeah, I'm walking around with some serious root regrowth, but whatever. Next week I’m finally heading in for some highlights. They told me they’re pretty safe since they don't actually touch the scalp.
I seriously can't wait 🙂
First off, I was honestly surprised by how much my chest 🙂 can swell up—it’s gotten so sensitive. A good bra is basically my best friend 24/7 right now 😁
Second, digestion. Basically, dealing with being backed up for days at a time 🙂, so I'm currently messing around with all sorts of different supplements to fix it.
But what really got under my skin was how I handled this one unprofessional, totally messy situation at work. I spoke up about it, and instead of addressing the actual issue, two of my male coworkers chimed in with comments like, "Oh, you're just extra sensitive because you're pregnant," which was just total hysterical nonsense. It’s so annoying that people try to undermine my professional competence just because I'm expecting; there's zero connection between the two, and my performance hasn't changed at all. Honestly, if anything, those comments are what actually made me lose my cool 😂
