Well, look at me— 🙂 finds my bloodwork perfectly fine! Thank God!!! They did a deep dive into my platelet counts and everything looks great. No more searching online for me! I end up scaring myself half to death. I can't even function normally; I act like a total maniac until those results come back! Who cares what 🙂 matters is that I'm healthy and my labs are clean. I don't care about every little thing I think I feel on my body anymore. Thanks for the support! It really means a lot 🎉 big hugs to everyone!😘

Googling this was a disaster. Those petechiae can point to anything, and none of it sounds good 🙂 I just handed in my blood work for analysis... results should be in around 3 PM. Ugh. I feel terrible! Just thinking about the possibilities makes me sick. I really hope everything turns out okay. I'll check back in later today. Bye.
melloworca6 said:So, are you getting bruises all over your body for no reason at all?
No, honey, no bruises. Just these red spots that look like birthmarks—two larger ones about 3mm, and then these tiny red dots everywhere else, almost like I've been poked by a needle. 😂 It’s been going on for about a month now. 😕 I had my liver enzymes checked because of this, and they were fine, but I haven't had a full blood panel done recently. So, I'm heading in tomorrow to get that sorted out once and for all. What really bothers me is how none of the dermatologists I've seen even suspected anything! Not one single doctor even mentioned it. But last night, while I was searching online, this was the first thing that popped up. Bruises? No. Not a single one that appeared out of nowhere—only the ones where I know I actually bumped into something. 😁 I am terrified! But I'm trying to stay positive since I feel perfectly fine, thank God! Now I don't even know...
Well... looks like someone else is starting to suspect this might be something more serious. I’ve got these tiny red dots all over my stomach. They look like little bruises, almost like I was poked with a bunch of needles. 😁The thing is, I’ve been treating pityriasis rosea... My entire medical team here has seen these spots, but not one single doctor thought to say, "Hey, let's check her platelet count" just to rule out anything else. Then I start digging around online and realize—wait, this actually could be it. 😢I'm heading straight to the lab this Monday to get bloodwork done on my own initiative. In the meantime, has anyone else dealt with these kinds of spots? I don't have any other symptoms at all... I feel fantastic, truly! Give me some peace of mind before Monday. :/
Throat swab came back clean. Now I’m just stuck waiting on my hormone results... six more days. If those don't turn up anything either, then I am seriously going to start wondering 😁
fadedmarlin402 said:If that’s what he’s telling you, then things are likely fine. There are other indicators on an ultrasound that would flag an issue if something were actually wrong. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to these details, so I can't help myself. My advice, though? Don't just settle for a radiologist or an ENT regarding your thyroid. You really should consult a specialist in nuclear medicine instead. It clearly isn't anything dire, but keeping an eye on the thyroid with regular ultrasounds is a smart move. As for that discomfort you mentioned—that nodule couldn't have caused it. That redness and irritation sounds more like a localized inflammation, an allergy, or maybe just some throat irritation. Best regards!
Absolutely, I’m down—as soon as I get my hormone therapy sorted out. It was probably some kind of inflammation, honestly. Being a chronic patient, you just learn to spot these things. 😁 Throat issues, sinus pressure, ear problems, tinnitus... yeah, it all connects. It’s totally possible. Thanks a million for the advice; honestly, every single post here means a lot to me. I'll check back in once I get through this mess so I can report on where things stand. Best regards. 👋
melloworca6 said:Have you ever actually checked your thyroid levels? You could be dealing with some thyroid inflammation, which would explain why those lymph nodes are flaring up.
Yeah, I have. They've always come back normal, but fine—I'm heading in tomorrow to get a full panel done and see what's actually going on.😁 I'm just hoping everything turns out fine and this is all just some minor mess caused by a mild throat infection. My tonsils are absolutely trashed right now, but I'm praying this clears up fast.😍
fadedmarlin402 said:I didn't even notice that wanderingcobra76 had already replied... Look, whether or not you undergo a biopsy isn't up to you; that decision rests with the nuclear medicine specialist. Roughly 10% of hypoechoic thyroid nodules turn out to be malignant. A fine-needle aspiration is the gold standard for checking malignancy, even if there are certain ultrasound indicators that might suggest something more serious is brewing. Personally, I don't see those red flags in this specific report. Just go talk to your doctor.
Look, the head radiologist who performed the ultrasound told me there’s nothing to worry about. I was actually the one performing the blood flow study when he first spotted these nodules—they were 7mm back then, now they're 8mm. To quote him directly: "Don't sweat a single millimeter!" He said there's no reason to panic, especially since I asked him point-blank if anything looked suspicious, and he said no. This morning, I took the results to my ENT, and she also said it's nothing serious and there's no need for a biopsy. I had a throat swab done this morning, and tomorrow I'm heading in for thyroid hormone tests. My levels were fine when I checked them last year. Despite all this, I feel perfectly fine! Aside from some slight throat discomfort (I already have a thread on this forum under that topic), I have zero issues. And just to be clear, I am not from the US. I expect a quick response 😉 best regards!
Thanks, but I’m honestly a bit confused right now. I don't usually have any issues with my thyroid, so this whole thing is pretty unclear to me! Why on earth am I being sent in for a biopsy now!?
Salivary glands look normal on the ultrasound. There is an 8mm hypoechoic nodule in the left lobe of the thyroid. Right paramedial lymph nodes show reactive changes.
Conclusion: Colic lymphadenitis. 8mm nodule in the left thyroid lobe.
Can someone please make sense of this? I used Macropen for seven days to treat my pityriasis rosea—so why didn't it work??? I had a throat exam today and they didn't find anything major, just some minor redness on the right side of my throat where I've been feeling discomfort, which is why I went for the ultrasound. I deal with chronic ENT issues. Thanks! Best regards!
Kenneth Myers7 said:Go ahead and schedule an appointment with an endocrinologist. When the doctor performs the thyroid ultrasound, they’ll naturally scan your entire neck area anyway, which should clear up any uncertainty you're feeling. That being said, if the physical tests come back completely clean, there is a chance this could be rooted in anxiety or stress... assuming you rule out the medical stuff first.
So, I saw my primary care doctor today. She looked at the redness near my throat on the right side and didn't even prescribe medication. All she said was to rinse with sage water whenever possible, and if it doesn't improve, I'll need to get swabs done. She's certain it isn't thyroid-related...🤷
Here comes the discomfort again. It’s been going on since yesterday. 😢 Whenever I yell or get worked up, it intensifies—this sharp, pinching sensation right by my Adam's apple on the right side. 🤷 Could this be my thyroid? I used to have a couple of nodules on it back in the day...
Look... I'm heading to an ENT specialist tomorrow for a full workup on all of this. It’s starting to get under my skin and interfere with my daily life, and honestly, the mental strain is becoming too much to handle. I've decided to go private just to get some real answers. There's this persistent irritation where the base of my tongue meets my cheek—I don't even know how else to describe it—and my throat feels bone-dry. Everything has been stinging since this morning. I hate this feeling. 😢 I'll check back in once I have the results from the exam. Best regards!
wanderingcanyon2 said:I get that metallic taste of blood quite often myself, but I make sure to get regular checkups, so I know it isn't anything serious. It wouldn't hurt to have a full blood panel done just to be safe; honestly, it’s good practice to get those checked every few years regardless if you aren't facing major issues. I hope this doesn't give you too much trouble and that it starts happening less frequently.
I just had my blood work done and everything came back clean. Right now, I'm using Lysol throat spray 🙂 and rinsing with sage. Hopefully, that does the trick. It shouldn't be an issue. I tend to freak out over every little health thing 🤷 and now there's this stinging sensation on the side of my tongue, like a canker sore popped up, and I immediately panic 🙄 though I realized a huge part of the problem is cigarettes. I smoke some really heavy, harsh stuff, and I can actually feel the smoke biting my tonsils and tongue. I'm going to try to cut back. ☕
wanderingcanyon2 🙂 thanks for the detailed breakdown. sometimes I get this metallic taste in my mouth, though my saliva isn't discolored, which honestly confuses me. Right now, I'm using Tantum Verde lozenges and a solution twice a day. My throat just feels gross, like I need to clear out some phlegm or whatever it is. There’s no bleeding—that was just a tiny bit after I was picking at something—but the taste lingers. I actually went to see my doctor yesterday to see if this was serious. She would have sent me straight for surgery or more tests if she thought it was bad. Nothing actually hurts, though cigarette smoke stings a little; I've been trying to cut back as much as possible. I'm really hoping this isn't anything major. Besides, my doctor is quite prominent, so I doubt she'd just send me home if she suspected something serious.
wanderingcanyon2 said:I deal with that same nuisance myself; it flares up every few months. It’s no surprise you had some bleeding—you likely just nicked it during the removal process. Try drinking more sparkling water; you can even use it as a gargle. It doesn't stop them from coming back, but it makes them happen less frequently. For now, surgery is the only real fix available in our medical system, but I get where you're coming from. At my age, I'm in no rush to go under the knife either.
Oh, bless you!😍 Thank you so much for this, I finally feel like a weight has been lifted! Ughhhh Finally, some peace of mind. And yeah, I definitely scraped myself with that tongue depressor thing—whatever it's called, wood or metal, 🤷 it doesn't matter, I was pressing way too hard. Tell me, my doctor didn't give me any pills, said I didn't need them. Should I be taking anything? What do you use to disinfect your mouth?
Thanks, everyone. 👍 I finally dragged myself to the ENT today. My tonsils have always been enlarged; they don't hurt much, but they've got these little pits in them. Yesterday, something felt stuck in one of those holes, and when I checked, it was exactly this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillolith Since I had a medical swab in my hand, I gave it a poke, and this disgusting thing popped right out. Gross. But here’s the kicker—it wasn't pus, and afterward, there was blood. Today the doctor said they need to be removed, though it's nothing urgent. So, whenever I decide to pull the trigger... they're gone. Ugh. Now I'm second-guessing myself because I forgot to ask about the bleeding after the "solo extraction"... is that actually okay? That spot where I dislodged that monster is still stinging a bit. 😂 I've read plenty about these tonsil stones. They call them "stones," and apparently, they're harmless, just annoying as hell. But am I really going to go through with surgery at only 27 years old?! The mere thought gives me the chills. 🙂 I cleared everything up except for that bleeding after the self-extraction—is that normal??? What do you all think?🤔 Best to all!
brightharbor21 said:Don't worry, you aren't going to hurt yourself. When you move your jaw, your tonsils shift around too, which is likely how that little morsel ended up stuck in there. 😉
