That’s pure style right there—total composure, seasoned experience, and that effortless confidence. It’s the charm of an old pro who lands one short, sharp, perfectly timed punchline, even when everyone was expecting a total dud...

Yeah.

That’s all just for show—the music they actually listened to was pretty much the same stuff the rockers were spinning.

It’s obvious you racked up a massive amount of Mod points with that quote (watch out, Wronže!), but I suspect some people might dock you a few points because of that second sentence...

Yeah, no kidding.
It’s almost as if you’ve never even listened to Quadraphonic...

🙂

Alex Scott22 said:I'm basically just torn between a '58 Ford R25 and some kind of Vespa... ugh.

Error, what a blatant lack of understanding regarding the whole scene... the ENGLISH riding GERMAN bikes????? FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
No Harley-Davidson, no Triumph, no Harley-Davidson (nor Indian Motorcycle, nor Harley-Davidson, nor Harley-Davidson, nor Harley-Davidson, nor Harley-Davidson, nor Norman)... and instead, you're cruising on a Ford. Good grief!

stormyviper11 said:Well... I never really cared for The Beach Boys. I never listened to The Seeds. But the other three are legends (The Yardbirds and more than that, if you ask me, they were massive), though I view them more as part of that emerging blues scene, alongside The Blues Brothers, The Rolling Stones, Creation Records, and those other geniuses from that incredibly creative era...
In short, anyone who loves The Yardbirds has common sense and good taste in my book... though I can't say the same for their standing in the mod scene.

Oh, absolutely not!
Five Live was once hailed by Rolling Stone as "the most energizing upcoming tunes of the near future! (British Invasion - op.ed.)" 😁 Or perhaps something like: "You will find no better document of the power of blues mixed with rock, in a live setting, than this stellar LP."
To clarify and make things easier to grasp—I’ll explain it using a certain compilation called "For Mods Only..." It doesn't feature any hits, nor anything particularly upbeat. Rather, it's pure Northern Soul, that 60s American jazz-lounge style, and things along those lines. Truly enlightening, believe me. And yes, just like with that Naramča collection, I’m offering you the 5-disc compilation "This Is Mod" to check out and enjoy... 🙂

I’m big on the Kinks and Huovac, though I can't say I have anything against Gem either.

Listen, if you throw some Small Faces, Yardbirds, The Pretty Things, The Cyril Davis All-Stars, or The Downliners into the mix, you’ll definitely earn some serious respect from me... 😉

I’ve actually got a moderator badge.

Let me be crystal clear on this: I am completely beyond the scope of any competition. 😁

Well, for the time being, Wronzet is the one calling the shots. 😎
Naramča has some serious issues regarding that previous work—and frankly, the way they handled those RAF communications was a total mess. 😁
A tribute to the youth. 👍
They’re always looking to jump on board at the very last second. It’s the same old story—everyone waits until the eleventh hour when they realize they've missed the boat, and then suddenly, they’re all eager to get in on the action. Honestly, it's exhausting dealing with that kind of last-minute maneuvering. 🙂
You're welcome to take this and run with it. Honestly, though—it could have been handled much better. 🙂

Everyone else just fell way behind.

You aren't stuck in Alaska, for God's sake. It’s snowing there year-round. Go ask Annie. 😁
You're just stranded somewhere in the middle of nowhere...

Praying Mantis said:just report them to the mods and consider the matter closed.

So what—are they going to throw leather bomber jackets over their zoot suits, hop on their Wasps, pull chains out of their back pockets, and start swinging at anyone who looks at them sideways? Maybe if we were in Miami back in 1965, I suppose. 😁 😁 😁

electro cute said:heheheh, I knew there were still some fans of old-school ski jumping out there. And Funaki is a legend, that's for sure.

I feel like I’ve already pointed this out several times across various threads, but apparently, I’m talking to a room full of blind people here:

Tony Hawk!
There is only one Tony Hawk!

ruggedcrane22 said:Well, now I finally see why you have such a grudge against those German types—it's because they seem to sweep every single trophy in that high-profile televised circuit.😍I honestly don't know where to begin with this—it’s almost exhausting how much ground we have to cover just to get to the heart of the matter. When you look at the current state of sports today, it feels like we’ve drifted so far from the raw, unadulterated passion that used to drive everything. It isn't just about the scoreboards anymore; it's about the soul of the game. There was a time—and I remember watching games back in my college days when the stakes felt visceral, not manufactured—when the connection between the fans and the athletes felt sacred. Now? Everything feels sanitized, polished, and frankly, a little bit hollow. We see these massive corporate structures stepping in, treating every single play like a branding opportunity rather than a moment of pure competition. It's frustrating to watch. And don't even get me started on the commercialization aspect. You can't even sit through a single quarter without being bombarded by advertisements for betting apps or overpriced energy drinks. It’s intrusive. It’s constant. It changes the very fabric of how we experience the tension of a close match. Instead of leaning into the drama, we're being nudged toward our wallets every five minutes. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about whether we'll ever get back to that sense of genuine, grassroots grit. There’s a certain dignity in the struggle of an underdog—something that gets lost when the league offices start meddling too much with scheduling or "optimizing" the product for television audiences. If you strip away the unpredictability, you strip away the reason we care in the first place. It’s a delicate balance, and right now, I fear we are leaning heavily toward losing the essence of what makes sport worth watching.

I mean, seriously? Ole Einar Bjoerndalen is such a typical German—it’s almost ridiculous. And don't even get me started on that Zimbabwean guy. 😁
I’ve been hearing some whispers lately—rumors that even Tomasz Sykora and Raphaël Poiré are fast-tracking their applications for German citizenship. It seems like everyone is looking for that specific European passport these days. 😁 😁

You’re headed straight to hell—there's no debating that. It isn't just the fact that you're cozying up to our former oppressors, but you're actually out here trashing the greatest, most captivating sport ever conceived... especially when it comes to the relays.

Well, there it is. That pretty much sums it all up. 😁
