So, I’ve got this weird yellowish tint showing up on my palms, the soles of my feet, and even around my knuckles. It’s not like my whole body is turning yellow, and my eyes look totally normal—no jaundice there.
Anyone have any idea what might be going on?
I was doing some digging online and stumbled onto stuff about caroteneemia, which apparently can be linked to liver issues like hepatitis, but usually, with those, your eyes would turn yellow too, right?
so, has a doctor ever actually sat you down and tried to push contraception on you like it’s some kind of magic fix?
I'm currently on thyroid meds... taking Synthroid because of hypothyroidism, and honestly, I'm pretty sure that’s playing a role in all this too. 😢
So, what does it actually mean when someone says they have a corpus luteum deficiency?
I just got back from my OBGYN, and she put me right back on Dabronstone, which I’d already been taking from around December through May. It feels like such a cycle because even after I stopped, my period is acting totally wonky again. Like, I get that sticky discharge right in the middle of my cycle, but then about 28 days in, my breasts start aching and my ovaries feel all weird... it’s that exact sensation where you're convinced your period is coming any second, but then nothing happens. Now I'm stuck back on the medication, and her next suggestion is to just jump straight onto birth control. Is this actually the right way to handle all this, or am I just spinning my wheels? Does anyone here actually know what's going on??
My doctor won't write me a prescription for Yasmin because he says it's a social drug and it isn't even on the approved medication list here in the States. I was wondering, if I just drove over to Canada to try and pick some up without a prescription, do you think they'd actually give them to me?
So, I know irregular cycles usually mess with your ability to conceive, but I’m wondering if these won't-know-when periods can actually lead to permanent infertility or some other kind of reproductive system issues down the road?
My cycle is all over the place because my progesterone levels are basically non-existent.
So, I’ve just been getting this tiny, tiny little spotting, you know? Like, barely even enough to bother with a pad, let alone a tampon, and it only lasted about five days before completely vanishing. And the weird part is, it happened right when my period was actually supposed to show up.
Is this actually my period or am I just losing it? I finished my last pack of birth control pills—it had been six months since I started the brand—and now I’m just sitting here waiting for my first actual cycle after being on them for half a year.
I guess I’m just a little worried because this latest bout was so bizarre, assuming it was even a period at all.
just give it a few days and you'll see it start to settle down, honestly... just whatever you do, don't go poking at it because that's a surefire way to make things worse-
if it isn't actually bothering you, just let it be and get on with your life
I went through something pretty similar once, though for me it was more of a lump, and turns out my lymph nodes were just swollen; they ended up shrinking back down on their own eventually
So, I was expecting my period to show up around Sunday or Monday, but since Saturday I’ve been dealing with this tiny bit of spotting—nothing major, just some light reddish-brown discharge that barely even requires a liner.
Could that actually be my period starting?
So, has anyone here actually dealt with Butterfly Medical Group before?
They pretty much focus entirely on thyroid issues and stuff like that.
If you've been there or know someone who has, please let me know what the deal is.
So, I finally got some of my hormone lab results back from the Mayo Clinic, and honestly, I’m just staring at them wondering what on earth they actually mean. If anyone here knows how to read this stuff or has dealt with something similar, please, help a girl out.
The only number that’s actually flagged—probably because it’s sitting outside the "normal" range—is my sex hormone-binding globulin, which came back at 129.5 (the range says 15-120). Does anyone have a clue what that implies?
Then there are these two other values that are low, though they didn't bother to bold them or make a big deal out of it. My estradiol is 85.6 pmol/L, and according to the chart, the follicular phase should be 110-1100, ovulation is 360-2200, the luteal phase is 360-1100, and menopause is anything under 37.
The second one that looks a bit off is my luteinizing hormone (LH), which hit 0.5 IU/L. For comparison, the normal ranges are 2-12 during the follicular phase, 8-20 during ovulation, and 1-10 in the luteal phase.
How am I supposed to make sense of all this? Just for context, I had these tests done on day 3 of my cycle.

If anyone here has experience reading these things or has dealt with something similar, I would seriously appreciate a hand figuring this out.
The only thing flagged—probably because it's outside the "normal" range—is my sex hormone-binding globulin, which came in at 129.5 (the reference range says 15-120). Does that even mean anything significant?
Then there are these two other values that are lower than they should be, though they aren't highlighted or anything. Any idea how I should be interpreting all of this?
Hey there, hope I’m not bothering any of you good folks who might actually take a second to help me out here. So, I just went in for my routine physical and the docs flagged some elevated ALT and AST levels, which is kind of a bummer because everything else—my full liver panel, blood work, the whole nine yards—came back totally fine. It’s got me wondering if this stuff always points straight toward some form of hepatitis, or if there’s some other weird diagnosis out there that could cause those specific numbers to jump up without messing with anything else.
Thanks a bunch!
thanks everyone, really appreciate it
So, what, is everyone just collectively deciding to stop talking about this? Is there a total blackout on info now?
So, here’s the deal... I went in for my routine checkup and turns out my liver enzymes are a bit wonky. It’s just the ALT and AST—ALT is slightly up, and AST isn't doing anything too crazy, but still. Naturally, they sent me off for hepatitis markers, but then my infectious disease specialist mentioned he’d run a control for HIV too... and now I’m sitting here wondering if he’s just being thorough since I'm already at the clinic, or if my results are actually hinting at something else.
So, how do you even spot HIV just by looking at standard blood work? Like, what kind of crazy fluctuations or weird values should you be watching out for if someone’s carrying the virus?
