I've done cookies like that before, but they were dry—just used meringue and some food coloring.

Mmmm, that looks incredible. I’ve never actually had walnut cake and poppy seed bread together, and honestly, I can't even begin to imagine how that combo works. How did you even come up with that idea?

I didn't have enough poppy seeds for one batch, so I just made two instead. Now, this is my go-to recipe.

And I'm making one version with just walnuts too.😬

It reminds me of the time I was trying to whip up some potato and herb stew and realized I was completely out of potatoes, so I just threw in some rice instead. It actually turned out better than the original. 😁

Like, imagine putting bananas in the filling.
Or you could spread some jam over the dough 🙂

I’m actually thinking about making a walnut cake with a layer of cheese for the holidays; that should turn out pretty delicious too 😁

I've experimented with pretty much every filling out there.👍
The crust is the only part that ever trips me up, everything else is solid.
You can't go wrong with cheese, either. Like those cheesecake bars or even a classic apple and cheese pie—it’s phenomenal.

So yeah, doing a yeast bread with those fillings would be awesome.👍

I’ll probably just have my mom whip these up—she definitely has a better handle on certain recipes than I do. 🙂

Usually, we tackle this as a team effort—it's a bit of a collaboration between my wife, my eldest daughter, and me. 😁
I want to pass some of these skills down to the kids—plus, I have a massive sweet tooth, and they certainly don't mind.

Before the kids came along, my wife and I used to spend a lot of time experimenting with this stuff.
Let's just say I can be pretty creative when it comes to dessert. 😁
