It’s happened more than a few times where some acquaintances—let's call them "casual friends"—are hanging out with me, and they'll respond to everyone else's texts almost instantly. But the second I'm not right there at the coffee shop with them? Suddenly, my messages go unanswered for ages. It’s funny, isn't it? When I finally ask why they were so MIA, the standard excuse is always "Oh, I was just grabbing coffee." Look, if you're sitting there having coffee for two hours, there is a 99.314% statistical probability that you'll have at least a few ten-second windows to glance at your phone. Why is that so hard to believe?

Finally feels like we’re actually getting into a decent groove with the chatting today... Honestly, Saturdays and Sundays are always the worst days for staying in touch, aren't they? It’s that weird paradox where the people who actually have free time end up having way too much of it, while everyone else is just slammed and can't find a second to breathe.

I was pulling a night shift over the weekend, so I finally grabbed a day off yesterday to catch my breath.

It seems like women just don't message as much during the weekend {unless they aren't exactly easy on the eyes—in which case, they seem to write even more often on Saturdays and Sundays}!
