While we’re all just sitting here waiting for that white Christmas weather to finally show up, I found myself drifting back through my mind, thinking about how things used to be...😁

Sooo, what did you guys get from Saint Nicholas?

I honestly have this phobia that someone is constantly watching me.

🤔 I don't get it—our Goldie isn't even scared of fireworks 😵 He was barely three months old when he experienced his first display during New Year's Eve. When they started popping, we just picked him up like he was a little kid and took him out on the balcony to watch. Goldie seemed totally fine; he could tell where the noise was coming from, and there was never any panic or chaos over the fireworks 🤔 It's not like he's deaf, he hears everything 🤔 Honestly, who knows? We probably just got lucky with him 🙂

Let’s talk about Christmas fireworks... Honestly, I am so over these kids running around selling firecrackers, or even worse, their dads letting them set them off in the middle of the street instead of the backyard. It's dangerous. Personally, I absolutely hate it because I jump out of my skin every time we're driving along and suddenly a firecracker goes off like a literal bomb. It's infuriating.
The only time you should be setting off fireworks is at midnight when we're ringing in the New Year. Not before, and definitely not after.

Honestly, those people obsessed with firecrackers drive me absolutely insane; they really take things way too far. I have a feeling the chaos is going to start any second now. I just don't get the obsession with setting off explosives, especially when it involves tossing them at someone’s feet and laughing while they jump out of their skin. It feels like pure sadism to me. 🙄

I actually enjoy watching fireworks, though—at least you know they won't drag on for an entire month. Maybe they would last longer if they weren't so expensive. 😬

My poor dog used to be absolutely terrified every single New Year's Eve, shaking like a leaf. He’d just curl up under the coffee table, ears pinned back, poor thing. For the last few New Year's celebrations, I ended up spending the whole night just sitting in the hallway with him, trying to comfort him. 😢

Napi, even our dog wasn't afraid of the noise when he was younger; the anxiety didn't kick in until later on. How old is your Goldie now?

What do you guys usually put on top? I mostly go with a star, but a blue one that's a bit smaller than the one in this gif. 😁

So here’s a little something, though mine actually have that extra little indentation—I always find myself wanting to go with red 😍

Here is something useful—to keep the pups from getting scared. <a href="https://ibb.co/y423jMq"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/y423jMq/16388857129896806557527481006958.jpg" alt="16388857129896806557527481006958" border="0"></a>

Basically, it’s a microcapsule designed to release slowly over time, providing long-lasting relief for dogs or cats by using Valerian. It works wonders at calming them down. A lady I know actually tried it out and swears it's an incredible product.

We actually gave our Person 2 mg of Valerian on the advice of the vets, and while I'll admit it took the edge off a little, it just wasn't nearly enough to do the trick.

rustymaker5, I think I have another one of those pinecone toppers lying around somewhere; seeing it totally triggered a memory from when I was a kid, specifically those little bird ornaments you see hanging from clothespins. 😍

plus some of these little beads 👍

and a little mushroom on a clothespin 😍

Oh yeah, I’ve actually got those two little birds on a spring, too—one red and one silver—they sit right tucked under the top part. 👍
Yeah, those ornaments with the little indentations... they really take me back to being a kid, you know? We used to have some slightly larger ones where the hollowed-out part held a tiny scene inside, like a little winter wonderland with snowy houses, pine trees, a manger, Santa and all that good stuff
and the thing was, every single one of those glass baubles was so incredibly fragile, you had to handle them like they were made of thin ice just to make sure they didn't snap or shatter in your hands.
That's why nowadays, I just stick to the plastic replicas.

Isse, please just fix this already, I can't even tell what I'm typing...

My grandparents used to have those ornaments. But my grandpa passed away on December 30th, 2020. 😢

Here's my idea: just throw some lights all over the room, hang some decor, and pretend to be happy 🙂

I love the look, though I’m honestly stumped on what they actually hung those ornaments on. This past summer, I ended up buying these short step stools just so I could finally reach the stuff tucked away on the top shelf of my closet. They looked a little too industrial for my bedroom decor, so I just gave them a quick coat of white paint, and now I occasionally drape a throw blanket over them to make them look more intentional.

That’s a brilliant way to set up a tree. Mine usually end up looking pretty awkward and out of place anyway. 👍

I’m also really digging this idea of just arranging the ornaments inside a frame; it’s such a smart way to save space.
