I’ve got this one program that just won't recognize any special characters.
I can't figure out what's stalling it. It runs perfectly fine on my old laptop.
It works without a hitch on both my old desktop and my newer PC.
But for some reason, it absolutely refuses to work on this new laptop.
All four machines are running Windows 10 in English.
In the Control Panel under Region, the Format is set to English, and the Current language for non-unicode programs : English is also selected.
I ran into a similar headache during those big Windows updates every six months, but I managed to fix that by tweaking the Unicode settings.
The issue isn't actually within the program itself—there aren't any settings to tweak like fonts or Unicode options. The problem is that when I generate a file through the app, the special characters show up as weird symbols, yet when I open that exact same file on my other devices, everything looks totally normal.
Any bright ideas?
