I personally know people who were never given any positive reinforcement—only constant negativity and insults. Because of that, they still see themselves through that same distorted lens, among other things. ☕
Why on earth wouldn't you give them a compliment, especially if it's true? Or if they actually accomplish something well? It’s infinitely better than just constantly nagging and criticizing them (to put it mildly). 😳

I could tell him a million times, but at the end of the day, his classmates will still tell him he's ugly. Parents definitely play a major role, but they aren't the only factor; you have to consider their social environment and their inherited temperament as well. I actually know plenty of successful, genuinely confident adults who grew up in single-parent households.

For what it's worth, people were always telling me I was unattractive, so I ended up throwing myself into training on my MK18+ and built my confidence that way... 🙂

Look, I’m not saying they’ll be totally shielded from the world—that’s impossible. But there’s a massive difference between what happens at home and what happens out in society. As a kid, you process things differently when it’s your own parent hitting you with those insults—calling you a loser, a lost cause, or whatever else—than if it's some stranger. And yeah, being raised with or without support matters, but I’m talking specifically about the way a parent speaks to their child. It’s the ultimate litmus test for how much they actually give a damn.
I mean, I’ve seen plenty of examples firsthand—cases where the person was supposed to be a parent, but honestly? They weren't even acting like one.

Who says you're a lost cause forever? 😳Everything can flip in a single day if you actually get off your ass.

PS: I can't believe how much overthinking is going on regarding this poll. People are taking this way too seriously. 😁

PS: I seriously can't believe how much people are overthinking this poll. 🤣

I've been "getting moving" for like 15 years now, so I'm not holding my breath, but hey... you never really know, right? Maybe tomorrow's the day.
😬
But honestly, most people have already written me off.

Positive affirmations mixed with constructive criticism—sort of a North Star for how to relate to a child.

Zachary Bennett said:My parents never praised me—not just me, but none of us, really. Is there some official rulebook somewhere I can point to so I can blame them for why my life turned out this way instead of fixing myself?😬

Look, you can't spend your whole life using that as an excuse. 😁We're ultimately responsible for what we make of ourselves, though I suppose it's a hell of a lot easier when you actually have a solid foundation to build on.😳

What I mean is, I've seen plenty of examples where the person acting as a parent wasn't really acting like one at all.

Something like that. 👍

Activation usually happens in fits and starts with long gaps. One day, it just clicks, one by one.

I've never really tried to wiggle out of it, but man, I would've loved to just shut them down with some actual facts once in a while.🥳

I honestly count my failures as wins🥳

I've even been feeling kinda optimistic lately—I actually set this life goal for myself where I make sure I have enough cash every single day $6.75 for beers. If I can't even manage to screw that up, then honestly, everything else can just go straight to hell. ☕

Seriously, if anyone reads this and thinks I'm a totally normal person, they're way more unhinged than I am. ☕

Childhood, wins, losses. You're either good-looking, ugly, or just mid. Look in the mirror and judge for yourself. We aren't judging personality here. Louis went out of her way to apologize for being a ten. Why? Because genetics is responsible for most of how you look. You can take certain steps to score points for your physique, like what Zvoniti told me. Just chew tobacco. Then you get that sexy jawline. 🍿

bluebadger112 said:Do you think parents should tell their kids they're beautiful? 😳

Honestly, I think parents just need to talk to their kids—it doesn't even matter what about.
It's more about being present and nurturing that bond; that's how a kid builds a healthy sense of self.
So many of us are shaped by those early connections with our caregivers.
