slyraven27 said:That really shouldn't be an issue for you. Granted, we aren't exactly in peak plum season right now, but one can always whip up a decent pound cake. I suppose I should have taught you that sooner.

And today... I haven't quite decided yet. I think I'll skip lunch entirely and just focus on dinner, since my folks are stopping by later this evening, which gives me a little more breathing room to figure out a menu. What about you?

Let’s be honest—mastering dough isn't exactly a walk in the park. It requires a certain level of finesse that most people tend to underestimate.

Come on, I'm just stuck with my old handle, so I'm playing the part of some bloodthirsty maniac

and barking a lot like a stray dog in the suburbs that wouldn't actually bite anyone. 😁

Whether it’s roasted vegetables paired with potatoes and a drizzle of olive oil, I generally find myself gravitating toward vegetarian meals.

And why aren't you all on Discord? I was under the impression they mentioned anyone could join, provided we don't start any unnecessary drama. 😁D

Maria Cox64 said:Well, it isn't exactly easy—you really have to know how to work the dough correctly.

That’s complete nonsense. I simply boil some diced potatoes, mash them up, stir in an egg, and add enough flour until it's right. Once you realize the dough isn't sticking to your fingers anymore, you're done. It isn't rocket science.

Aside from Noordung, he was kicked out because the mob turned against him, and then he got banned here too. I actually filed a complaint about it, but honestly, we need rules in place. Without them, everything will just fall apart, much like how the old university grading system used to collapse under its own weight.

So they're basically just standard gnocchi then?

And here I am, trying to find him a girlfriend through a computer screen, while he’s out here acting like this...

Now this is what I'm talking about.

The only thing missing is a side of meat.

My mom used to joke that I was born with a potato in my hand. My obsession is real.

Exactly. I mean, you know how it is.

And please—don't bring that whole Index nonsense into this thread. If you want to vent about that kind of garbage, go head over to Reddit; you can do it there.

Keith Ward2 said:I love this

I just need some meat on the side to make it perfect.

My mother used to joke about how much I loved potatoes—as if I were born with a craving for them.

It seems you men always feel like something is missing without a side of meat, yet there is such an incredible abundance of delicious food out there that doesn't require animal products. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy meat too, but I certainly don't need it every single day. Besides, isn't it better for the planet and the animals?

Thanks, but apparently even a simple "hello" on this forum gets misspelled because of my handle.

All thanks to the username. 😁

And please, let’s not clutter this thread with all that nonsense about Index and their usual garbage. If you really feel the need to vent about it, go head over to the coffee shop forum; you'll find plenty of people there eager to indulge in that kind of chatter.

I wouldn't say I actually make them myself—not that I really need to, considering how easy they are to pick up at any grocery store these days. Honestly, my grandmother used to make the best homemade pasta you could ever imagine; I can still vividly remember watching her work her magic in the kitchen.

The only things I’d actually swap meat for are beans, peanuts, or lentils.

Everything else is just a side dish.

And let's be real, the planet is massive; it can handle a little extra. I'm not falling for those Greta Thunberg clichés.

Besides, we're flying around in private jets anyway.😁

Maria Cox64 said:True—though I don't really make them myself—but honestly, when they are readily available at the store, why bother? My grandmother used to make the absolute best homemade pasta you could ever imagine; I can still vividly recall watching her work her magic in the kitchen.

It is impossible to truly compare something made from scratch to the store-bought variety, yet even I find myself opting for the convenience of the grocery aisle more often than not.

slyraven27, you and I are quite the comedy act; we'll tear each other to shreds one moment, and then act as if nothing ever happened the next.

slyraven27 said:I can't really make a fair comparison between local goods and store-bought ones, but I find myself opting for the latter more frequently.

It is widely understood that nothing quite matches the quality of home-cooked meals. Personally, the only things I find worth making from scratch are pizza dough, pasta, or perhaps some gnocchi.

Besides, America is a massive country; we can handle whatever comes our way. I'm not easily swayed by those trendy little dietary fads.

And frankly, life moves at jet speed these days.😁

But in all seriousness, look at the facts regarding meat production: you require significantly more water—not to mention the sheer volume of feed needed to fatten livestock—than you do for growing grains, vegetables, or fruit. You could easily find an article detailing these calculations if you cared to look. And that’s without even mentioning those miserable industrial chicken and cattle farms where animals are kept in cages, unable to move an inch. Now, with this whole COVID situation, people are slowly starting to realize the reality of it all.
