Ah, San Diego. A place with the highest birth rate in the USA. 😍
Here, this was filmed near my place yesterday. I'll have my drone catch some footage at the end of the clip while a tractor drives by. 🤣

I absolutely adore them... especially when the plums are perfectly ripe—the kind where they almost burst from the heat, releasing all that sweet juice... mmm. 🙂

I’m all for dumplings, but if the plum filling is mushy, I'm tossing the whole thing out🤣

I just can't stand that slimy, overcooked texture you get from boiled plums🕺

yeah, you take a bite, it pops, the juice runs everywhere, and you just end up licking it all up until there's nothing left...

Look, this was filmed right by my place yesterday. I’ll probably have my drone capture some footage at the end of the segment showing a tractor driving through. 🤣

I can see where this is headed. 🙂

But all joking aside... it's truly tragic. Everything people worked for has been ruined. Now, the prices for whatever actually survived are going to skyrocket.

Down on my property, the cherries were completely wiped out. As for the figs, I'm still not quite sure.

Tomislav, don't be so damn shy—just ask me.😳

Here we go. ovo We were filming at my place yesterday. I’m actually planning to wrap things up by having a drone capture some footage of a tractor driving through the field. 🤣

Man, things are really kicking up a storm in San Diego right now, with everyone just buzzing and swirling around like crazy.😍

It’s certainly a familiar face.🙏

I didn't even bother heading out to the orchard to check on how the fruit is coming along.🕺
We had just one night where the weather absolutely turned on us, with this freezing mix of snow and rain coming down all at once.😁

I simply cannot abide the texture of a cooked prune.🕺

I always start by slicing the plums. If they happen to be particularly large, I tend to make smaller dumplings and just use half a plum per serving. When the size is more or less ideal, I still go ahead and slice them—it’s just that I opt for slightly larger dumplings in those instances. If the fruit turns out to be a bit dry—meaning they aren't quite ripe enough, really—I might add a tiny pinch of sugar, though I generally try to avoid doing that altogether.

Honestly, I just buy the store-bought ones because they have that perfect, smooth texture.
Wouldn't it be incredible if my mom made them? She'd probably just throw the whole fruit in, but wouldn't it be heaven if those plums actually burst with juice?😍

Man, the pollen is flying everywhere here in San Diego.😍

I can definitely tell.🙏

I haven't even stepped foot in the garden to check on the fruit trees yet.🕺
We just had that one night where the temperature plummeted and we got hit with sleet.😁

Edi seems to be dealing with issues constantly around here. Or maybe he just gets tossed around by the wind on the Golden Gate Bridge. 🤣

The ice here really coated the fruit trees. Honestly, we're lucky there wasn't more rain; if the plants were already waterlogged, the ice would have snapped them for sure.

If my mom were actually making them , she’d probably use some local organic plums , though it would be absolutely incredible if those plums were actually ripe enough to release all that sweet, rich juice 😍.

You sinners!!!

Since we’re already discussing figs, I have to say—God, I truly hope He blesses my harvest this year. 🙂

I’ve never actually tried it before, though I suppose I could. What's on the menu for tonight, RedOne?

Well, that shouldn't be an issue for you at all. Granted, we are out of season for plums right now, but a peach pie would be quite easy enough to whip up. I can show you the ropes.

As for today... I haven't quite decided yet. I won't be prepping lunch, just dinner—my family is heading over late in the afternoon, so I have plenty of time to settle on a menu. How about you?
