Keyboard recommendations?

I don't really have a recommendation for you since I'm actually hunting for something in that same budget range myself. I’ve been debating whether it’s worth splurging on a higher-end model—they definitely look stunning and usually check every single box on my wishlist—but dropping $467 hmm 🤔 feels like a lot.
This one caught my eye though, the Corsair Void RGB, $200

Anything priced above $233 is just pure greed, especially when you're paying double for a single keyboard.

The Corsair isn't bad, I guess. Though I seriously doubt it comes in a standard US layout. Also, blue switches drive me absolutely insane.

For this price range, the Razer DeathAdder is my top pick for everything, except for those blue switches—same problem there. Even if they aren't genuine Logitech mechanical switches, reviews show they’re still loud as hell.

This Corsair one has red lighting. Since this would be my very first mechanical keyboard, I’m honestly a little nervous about whether I’ll actually like the feel of it. I feel like I’ve spent forever digging through every single deal and watching endless review videos online, but I still can't say for sure if I've found "the one."
I was also looking at this Razer DeathAdder model; it's definitely on my shortlist. I'm not exactly an expert, though—does anyone know if it's possible to order custom keycaps with our own letters or symbols?

I haven't actually made the jump to a mechanical keyboard yet myself. People always warn you that switching straight from a membrane board to blue switches is a disaster, though I know everyone's experience is different. Personally, they just aren't my thing. The actual letters aren't the issue—as long as macOS recognizes the language settings, you can type whatever you want, and I’ve been a touch typist for ages anyway. But I agree, that clicking sound can get irritating fast. For me, the biggest dealbreaker is the layout. We're so used to the ISO setup; it feels way more ergonomic and practical for us than that standard US layout.

I’m really digging the SteelSeries Corsair RGB. It feels incredibly compact, like you could practically smash it against a wall and it wouldn't even flinch.😁 Honestly, it's easily the best build quality you can find at this price point. But man, it isn't cheap either. It's kind of ridiculous that they couldn't just bundle the frame with a keyboard that costs around $267 if you ask me.

I think you made a solid call on that Corsair; I'm starting to like it more and more myself.

Talk about great minds thinking alike! 🙂 I actually swung by Silicon Valley today and got a chance to test out that SteelSeries mouse in person. You hit the nail on the head—it feels incredibly solid and substantial in the hand. It’s retailing for $233 there. I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet, though; I'm having such a hard time deciding, especially when I realize I have the exact same dilemma waiting for me once I pick out a mouse 😢.

Edit: Does anyone know which switches are inside that SteelSeries? 🤔

I think that SteelSeries model comes with brown switches. I've actually decided to go with Corsair instead; I sent an inquiry over to MediaWorld on Facebook, and if their response sounds good, I'm pulling the trigger—assuming they actually get back to me. 😬

I'm not going to overthink mice nearly as much as I did with the keyboard.

Hey man—I was wondering why there's such massive hype surrounding mechanical keyboards lately? I guess maybe someone could share their personal experience regarding the actual gaming advantages, if they don't mind?

Looking for a mechanical keyboard, maybe around $167 bucks, but I’m still weighing my options. The more RGB colors and lighting effects, the better—I want all the bells and whistles. Needs to be a full-size layout with a num pad too. Multimedia keys are a must, whether they’re dedicated or just mapped to the F-row. Extra macro keys would be awesome, though I guess that's not a dealbreaker.

EDIT: Oh, almost forgot! It absolutely has to come with a wrist rest. Doesn't matter if it's built-in or detachable, I just need that support.

Does anyone know if you can actually type normally on a US keyboard layout? I get the whole Z and Y swap thing, but what about those special accented characters?

I’m asking because I’m thinking about finally pulling the trigger on a mechanical board just to see if I actually like the feel, but I'm not about to throw my money away on a whim until I know it works for me.

Nobody’s said a word, and Christmas is practically here, so we'll see. Everything stays the same as before, except I bumped my budget up to $200, though even then... I don't feel like I'm getting much bang for my buck.

My favorites haven't changed, so: the NZXT H series, the Redragon, and the JBL Flip.

Really hoping someone actually chimes in and helps me out with this purchase, because I posted this on two other forums and got absolutely nothing. Zero. Zilch.

Keyboard for around $100 - I mostly use it for gaming and a fair amount of typing, so I'm looking for something that hits that middle ground between the two.
Ideally, it would be great if it didn't have a US layout (without those extra characters), though I guess that's not strictly necessary.

I don't want to start a whole new thread here. Is it actually okay to plug my wired keyboard and mouse into a USB hub instead of plugging them directly into the computer? Just wondering if there’s some kind of safety reason why sticking them straight into the PC would be better.

To be honest, I just did a quick Google search and I'm having trouble finding those multi-port hubs online, though I definitely saw them in a shop 🤔 a few years back, they had
all sorts of different colors.
