The bowling ball is lined up at the fifth spot, ready to roll. Who’s getting wiped out? Which idiot is about to take the fall? I wonder if this moron will end up slamming himself into a wall or if he’ll "accidentally" take someone else down with him.

Hamilton’s got enough distance! Fingers crossed!!

Honestly, Ferrari's strategists might actually consider letting Mad Max loose right at the start. 🤣
Just move both cars out of the way and let Max smash right into the Mercedes in front. *facepalm*
Pretty effective way to clear out the competition. Honestly, there’s a better than 75% chance they knock at least one of them out of the race anyway. 😬

Roger Wright94 said:"The track" has terrible grip. Since Ferrari loves those softer tires, it doesn't really show here.
If it were a brake issue, people would already be losing their minds about it.

The real issue is definitely somewhere in that setup/tire/brake triangle...
Both drivers look pretty shaky under braking and entering corners. So, it's either the lack of grip or the brakes...

Meanwhile, the Brits are rambling on about this new fuel oil ban, claiming it actually hurt Ferrari more than Mercedes.
Word is Ferrari supposedly had some extra oil tank they used as fuel that they were forced to ditch...

Who knows how much truth there is to that, but maybe that explains why they suddenly fell off so hard in qualifying. Toss in the mess with the setup and tires, and it’s hardly a miracle that Red Bull Racing and Force India are right on their heels...

The issue lies with the front-end grip; they clearly lacked it, which makes braking while simultaneously hitting the apex an absolute nightmare if you want any hope of decent exit speed onto the straights.

It strikes me as odd that it was Mercedes—specifically Hamilton's car—that faced these issues only for them to vanish out of nowhere. If we look back at Las Vegas, one would have expected Ferrari to be the dominant force in that specific area, yet for some reason, they weren't. I haven't the slightest idea why.

They ought to perform better during the race, I suppose, though I am anticipating a few safety cars and some Virtual periods, which means strategy will play its part. The real concern is that once a safety car peels off, the tires degrade, leaving them vulnerable to Max Verstappen, who clearly isn't struggling at all with tire warm-up.

It might be interesting.

Some kid clearly can't get his tire temps right...
https://www.formula1.com/en/results....miami.html

I honestly can't remember the last time the timing sheets looked this messy. It’s absolute chaos—we've got zero progress between Q2 and Q3, and some even insane logic where Q2 times are slower than Q1, or Q3 is somehow slower than Q2. 😵

It’s obvious something is fundamentally broken with how they're warming up these tires. Pretty much everyone is struggling except maybe Mercedes and Ferrari, though even they might have issues. Most other teams are seeing these weird, nonsensical anomalies in their lap times.🤔

stormybadger8 said:It looks to me like they’re dealing with some seriously massive issues regarding their brakes...
A couple of them have completely botched turns way too many times, which pretty much screams that their braking isn't up to snuff and, more importantly, they just don't trust the gear...

They’re struggling with tire warm-up, or at least that's what Kimi Räikkönen mentioned yesterday. Anyone who actually bothers to read the American sports tabloids would already know that. 🙂 /.
It’s weird though—this is the first time I've heard anyone bringing up that specific issue since FR.

Wait, what is FR?

🎉🍿:klap:

p.s.
Red Bull Racing really needs to go aggressive and grab two pit stops today if they want any chance at this.

Just how much more compelling is MotoGP compared to Formula 1? 🙏

As we look ahead to today's race, I am anticipating a double podium finish for Mercedes and Max Verstappen.
That being said, Ferrari is clearly in a state of significant decline; following the Monaco Grand Prix and their previous double victory, so much has shifted within the Italian team's dynamic. 👎

Brian Campbell36 said:Does anyone else ever find themselves wondering why MotoGP seems to possess such an inherently captivating soul when compared to the somewhat sterile precision of Formula 1? I often sit back and reflect on the sheer, visceral intensity of motorcycle racing, questioning if we have perhaps traded raw, unbridled emotion for the calculated, aerodynamic perfection that defines the current state of F1. Is it not true that in MotoGP, one can almost feel the bravery of the riders through the screen, whereas in Formula 1, we are often just watching a high-speed chess match played by computers? 🙏

Who on earth is actually concerned about the outcome of the Spanish riders' championship in MotoGP? ☕

Brian Campbell36 said:As I sit here contemplating the upcoming race, I find myself wondering if we might actually witness a double podium finish today, perhaps seeing both Mercedes and Max standing tall among the leaders?
It seems that Ferrari is indeed in a state of significant decline; following the Monaco Grand Prix and that period of double victories, so much has shifted within the ranks of the Italian squad, hasn't it? 👎

Well, it appears you have finally managed to pin them down at last.
One cannot help but feel a sense of quiet anticipation building within us, can one? As we look toward the upcoming race, I find myself wondering if we are finally on the cusp of seeing a victory for Ferrari. It seems like an earnest hope, perhaps even a bit idealistic, but isn't that precisely why we follow this sport in the first place? We wait, we watch, and we hold onto that lingering belief that their moment is finally approaching. ☕

Look, under standard racing conditions, it’s a massive uphill battle. You'd need some random crashes, a perfectly timed Safety Car, and basically everything else to just fall into place perfectly—so yeah, it's still a long shot, but I guess it's technically possible if the chaos hits just right.

Take today's MotoGP race, for instance; there were 105,000 fans packed into the stands, and an Italian rider took the win. 🍿

From what I can gather, Formula 1 viewership is steadily dwindling, likely because we are stuck watching the same single team dominate every single weekend.

I have a feeling we might see the Finn go toe-to-toe with Verstappen right at the starting line. I’m really expecting Rajko to pull off a stellar launch.
