As the title suggests, for years now, almost every single time I come down with a common cold, I experience this intense stinging sensation in my nose, particularly during the night. When I breathe through my nostrils, it feels as though the very lining has been stripped away—as if I am inhaling nothing but bone-dry air. It creates this sensation of being overly exposed or "cleaned out," if that makes sense? It is as though the air is too dry for my nasal passages to handle. Sometimes the stinging is bilateral, affecting both sides, while other times it focuses on just one nostril. This happens every single year. Each time, I tell myself, "No more, I can't deal with this again," yet here I am, starting this thread. Perhaps someone else has endured this exact ordeal? Has anyone found a way to resolve it? My nose is running constantly, and I can barely tilt my head without discomfort, though I suppose that part is standard for a cold 🙂. If anyone has faced this or knows a remedy, please 😁. The pain and stinging are truly irritating; once it begins, the sensation occupies my entire mind, circling constantly, which can be quite maddening 😁.
