I’ve managed to completely brick my PC.
Basically, I was in the middle of updating my graphics drivers when the system prompted me for a BIOS update. I went ahead with it, but after cycling through about thirty restarts where it hit 100% and then just rebooted itself, I lost patience and forced a shutdown. Now, the machine is completely unresponsive.
I’ve already attempted to reset the BIOS to factory defaults, reseated the RAM, unplugged the power supply and drives, pulled the CMOS battery, and even tried shorting the pins with tweezers, but nothing works.
Does this mean my motherboard is officially dead?
Please let me know if anyone can recall any other non-complex troubleshooting steps I might have missed, or if a local repair shop would actually be able to fix this.
Thanks

I’m still struggling to see how graphics card drivers would have anything to do with the BIOS—it just doesn't seem to connect, does it? Did you actually go through the trouble of downloading the drivers manually from the AMD or NVIDIA sites, or were you using one of those automatic update tools that scans your system and handles everything for you?

I don't follow. My drivers just seem to install themselves automatically through Catalyst.

You can't update the BIOS that way, and neither can you update the graphics card drivers.

That's true, but if you happened to cut the power during a BIOS update... well, I don't think a service center visit is going to save you this time. It really just comes down to which motherboard model you're running—if it’s an older board, is it even worth trying to fix? Honestly, at that point, it might just be easier to grab a new one instead.

I suspect an update likely triggered mid-driver installation.
My motherboard is an NVIDIA GTX 970, about four years old now, and I’m ready to upgrade to a new $177. It isn't worth taking it to a repair shop; they'd charge me half the price of the board just for a basic diagnosis

P.S. I don't see why everyone is obsessing over GPU drivers; they're irrelevant.
The real issue here is how to resolve the BIOS error, as that's what actually matters.
Basically, there is no cure.

Doesn't Gigabyte have that dual BIOS setup specifically for situations just like this?

what is wrong with my Meizu

Look, I need to figure this out now while I'm still on vacation; once I'm back at the office, I won't have any time for gaming.

So, did you actually try following the manual?
You can find it right here:

Yeah, you should definitely check out the manual to see how it's done, but just a heads-up: updating your graphics card drivers won't touch your computer's BIOS.

To actually update the BIOS, you'll need to manually download the BIOS file along with the update utility and run it yourself—it isn't an automatic process. Even Windows updates don't handle BIOS updates...

The question regarding the graphics card has resurfaced once again.
It wasn't as if I decided to update the BIOS on a whim without cause.
I visited two different repair shops today, and both reached the same conclusion: the motherboard is dead.
That’s that.
