It will likely end up being a backmarker, but at least it looks significantly better than this year's eyesores.

😁 They really went out of their way to keep things strictly internal... honestly, I hope everything looks this clean without those bulky air intakes sticking out from the race cars.

Testing the 2014 race car

The FIA has officially lost the plot—this is just straight-up tacky

The part that really gets under my skin is this:

"No competitor may sell or make available any such car to any third party without the prior authorisation of the FIA."

Thank God I’m not racing in Formula 1—if I were, I’d shove a 2014 race car directly up Jean Todt's ass for even suggesting a rule like this

Look, if the race car is mine, I can do whatever the hell I want with it, whenever I want—I can sell it to whoever I feel like, for whatever price I set, without asking some bureaucrat for permission.

As someone who values freedom above pretty much everything else, I just don't get it. I might be able to wrap my head around the FIA, but I will never, ever understand the people who bow down to them. It's just not happening.

Those ten teams could easily run their own private series tomorrow without needing a single blessing from the FIA, and nobody could stop them. We live in a free country, after all. But clearly, these people have the mindset of having to grovel to fake authorities like Bernie, Todt, and those other freaks.

The idea of this race car being designed around a Mercedes engine just doesn't sit right with me when it comes to reliability, but hey, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out...

Actually, I believe there has been a slight misunderstanding regarding the matter at hand; this isn't intended to be the official livery, but rather the creative work of Peter Crowther, the designer over at Formula 1 racing. It seems that last year's race car has simply been dressed up in a new—or perhaps merely potential—outfit.

Is there anything worth discussing here?
Word on the street is that Goodyear has supposedly redesigned their tire construction in such a way that performance drops off a cliff once about 70% of the tread is worn down—it seems they’ve tucked some sort of new layer directly beneath the surface. Is it possible that this was an intentional move? One can't help but wonder if this shift in engineering was designed specifically to alter the strategic landscape of a race. Is it not a curious thing, how we often overlook the very foundation upon which everything else rests? We spend our days scrutinizing the surface—the vibrant colors of a livery or the aggressive profile of a tire's tread—yet we rarely pause to consider the under-tread layer, that silent, essential substrate that holds the entire structure together. One might wonder, does the integrity of the whole not depend entirely upon this hidden layer, much like how the stability of an American institution depends on the quiet strength of its underlying principles? If the bond between the rubber and the casing were to fail, would all the engineering brilliance in the world save us from disaster? It makes one reflect on whether we, too, are neglecting our own foundations in favor of outward appearances....unless I have completely misread the situation or misinterpreted the underlying facts. In other words, we find ourselves facing a scenario reminiscent of the 2012 season, where there was absolutely no clarity regarding who was actually calling the shots and who was footing the bill.

As long as the tire performance remains predictable, everything else is manageable...
