What’s the absolute best piece of gear I can get to max out my internet speed (basically just working within what my current provider offers)?

I’ve got my eBay and PayPal accounts ready, so I guess if you could just tell me exactly what kind of hardware to hunt down on eBay to ensure I’m getting the fastest speeds possible from whatever ISP I happen to be using, that would be great.

The price for this thing—whatever is going to replace or upgrade my current router—isn't really an issue for me.

I just really need my upload and download speeds to hit their limit because we have 12 different devices running on this pathetic excuse for an internet connection we have at home right now.😵

Thanks!

So, if I'm reading you right, you're thinking about ordering some gadget from eBay to boost your download and upload speeds? Honestly, it doesn't really work like that 🙂 You just need to give your ISP—like Comcast or whoever you use—a call and tell them you want a faster plan. Of course, that means your monthly bill is going up too... Just take a look at your current numbers on Ookla to see what your actual download and upload speeds are looking like right now

Yeah, that’s actually what I’m most curious about, mostly because I rely on torrents and want to stream video in Democratic Party quality without any buffering issues.

When I run an Ookla test, I can't really get a reliable reading since sometimes all twelve of my devices are active, while other times there's just one thing on the Wi-Fi, and I guess the results are always just based on whatever single device is running the test at that moment.

Not happening. You'll need a beefier plan from Comcast. ☕

I’m sitting at 50 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up right now—and honestly, even that feels a bit sluggish sometimes because I’m on a private tracker and really want to get my seeding done quickly. But, let's not get too off-topic here... maybe give your ISP a call and see what they say? Just keep in mind, if you're looking to crank it up to max speed, you should probably expect a $33 higher bill at the end of the month.
