Not quite, though something along those lines; he mentioned this was one of his most skillfully executed races to date.

Sebastian Vettel: Luckily, Hamilton got caught up in that mess

I'm leaning that way too—this was the deciding factor.

Mercedes-Benz is just a slightly faster car than Ferrari... or maybe Hamilton is just a quicker driver than Finger 😁

Fernando Alonso didn't actually say it was the greatest race of his entire life. He just said, "this is the best race i had." That's where he left it; what he really meant by that, who knows.
I'm guessing he was referring specifically to his time driving for McLaren.

Check out this clip where Verstappen asks about his fastest lap gap, only for the team to tell him he's already too fast. 😁
Kimi is being exactly who you'd expect him to be... I honestly hope this is his final season. I think if Nico Hülkenberg or one of those younger drivers were in his seat right now, they’d absolutely crush it.

Look, as much as I love the guy and I'm hoping this is his last run too, watching him play second fiddle to Sebastian Vettel is just painful to witness.

I wonder if anyone else (like Nico Hülkenberg, for instance) sitting in Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari today could have actually arrived and challenged Valtteri Bottas?

Could someone please explain to me what Kimi might have actually been able to do today?
The Mercedes-Benz was simply nothing special... 🙂
Sebastian Vettel won the race primarily because of Max Verstappen; had Hamilton not run into trouble, the result would likely have been reversed: 1st - Hamilton, 2nd - Vettel...

I am certainly not diminishing Vettel's victory with this; it was purely deserved, professionally executed, with perfect tactics and everything else...

I honestly can't believe we're still sitting around debating Alonso's legacy. Don't get me wrong, the guy is a hell of a driver, but let's be real—his prime is ancient history at this point. You just can't put him in the same conversation as someone like Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel, and frankly, he's even struggling to hold his own against the likes of Ricciardo or Max Verstappen lately...

Honestly, I can't even put into words how relieved I am that the blowhard didn't take the win.

Just thought I’d give all you gamblers a heads-up that I finally caught Ricciardo pulling out of the race. :$
On my other parlay, I didn't exactly catch both McLarens bowing out.

It seems like he was only "unknown" to us because we missed the show last year. I remember watching the IndyCar race at Indianapolis; on the very last lap, he sliced past two drivers to take the win. The atmosphere was absolutely electric—the crowd went wild, and the announcer was practically screaming "Granda Antonio !!!!"
I think we were all a bit confused about who this phenom was at the time, but everything makes sense now. Grande Antonio is a world-class driver just waiting for the right moment to step into the big leagues.

rustyridge10 said:Such a dull race. I missed the last ten laps or so, but honestly, I’m not feeling it. Right after the start, the field just spread out and settled into a steady 1 to 1.5 second gap. After all that hype about how difficult overtaking would be, we might just end up watching endless processions instead of actual racing...
It really looks like Ferrari is the heavy favorite for the title this season. Part of me would love that, but seeing Vettel as the clear frontrunner makes it feel a little repetitive already...
Man, Kimi, what a disappointment. You clearly have the fastest car on the grid and you still manage to underperform like that. At this point, you're acting like nothing more than a glorified wingman for the team...
Congrats to the longtime fans and the new Ferrari supporters joining the club today. A little shake-up at the top of the standings after the last few seasons definitely won't hurt...

Honestly, watching a procession where passing is actually difficult is more interesting than those races where we just see constant, mindless overtaking. But this is Los Angeles—Shanghai is coming up next with that insanely fast, long straight, so we'll see how things actually hold up then.

Look, he definitely had his moment to shine with that high-caliber McLaren team, but after that, he pretty much proved he just doesn't have the chops, and let's be real, even having Telmex backing him up isn't going to save him now.

I mean, he probably could have had it, but he just kind of... messed it up, I guess. Though if he had, we probably wouldn't be celebrating those six decent top-six finishes quite so loudly, since Sebastian Vettel would’ve been the one grabbing all the wins instead.

I haven’t really been following Formula 1 closely for a few years now. Every single time a new season rolls around, it’s the exact same hype machine. They promise big changes, better racing, more intensity—blah, blah, blah. So, I’ll download the stream for the first race thinking things might be different, but then it's just more of the same. Just endless formation laps and boring little trains where everyone stays stuck in a line with zero overtaking or actual fighting.

It’s honestly just the same old story. Total boredom. The only thing remotely interesting was that little three-way scrap between Fernando Alonso, Nico Hulkenberg, and Esteban Ocon.
