Bob, has anyone else dealt with something like this? Honestly, I’m probably going to die of anxiety over the holidays if I don't get some reassurance, so please, if you've been through anything similar, speak up!!! My precious little Michael is three, and since yesterday, there's been this weird growth popping up between his two front teeth... kind of looks like raw, inflamed tissue. We swung by a dentist (not his regular one, because they're closed for the break), and she said he’ll likely need a minor surgical procedure once his actual dentist is back in the office... and I am seriously losing my mind here. With all the random illnesses going around lately—you know, the ones that don't care how old you are or what gender you are—I'm just spiraling!! I know logically it doesn't have to be anything serious, but man, I am terrified!! 😕

It’s possible the muscle just got inflamed, especially if this happened overnight.

God willing, but seriously, you’ve gotta stop stressing out so much...

Keep us posted on how things turn out; it’s obvious you’re concerned, and honestly, anyone in your shoes would be.

Moved from R&D to child health, then over to dentistry.

I’m asking my fellow dentists to take a look at this inquiry from a worried mother. If you can offer some insight, I’d appreciate the help.

Thanks.
