And Sebastian Vettel was literally destroying everyone in sector three throughout the whole qualifying session.☕

Just look at that sector three time compared to the rest—he was about 0.600 faster in that one single sector.😳

If that hadn't happened toward the end of the Third Qualifying Session, we would've seen a 1-2 or 1-3 for Red Bull.☕
Lewis Hamilton was slightly faster than Mark Webber, but I still think Mark Webber would've beaten him in sector three...
And Sebastian Vettel's pole time would have been about half a second better than Hamilton or Mark Webber.

Anyway, on that first lap on fresh tires, Sebastian Vettel actually clocked the best time through sectors one and two...
Mark Webber killed the first sector, but fell off a bit in the second...
Lewis Hamilton was solid in the first and crushed the second...

Basically, all three were within about 0.200s of each other, with Sebastian Vettel leading, Webber in second, and Lewis Hamilton in third..
And just for context, through the First Qualifying Session, Second Qualifying Session, and Third Qualifying Session Sebastian Vettel, he was basically keeping them all within a 0.5-0.8s margin in the third sector—where Webber was actually their weakest link..

The one slightly below average starts hugging the walls the second a drop of rain hits the track, and the guy just above average barely manages to outpace Williams and stays just ahead of Aston Martin by a hair.

The only guys who finished behind him and were even remotely close to his pace during those first two sectors of qualifying were Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber... they weren't faster, just about the same.😳

The remainder of the field was noticeably slower... so yeah, there's your luck.
He got lucky because he probably would've ended up stuck behind both Aston Martins and Adrian Sutil if the rain hadn't absolutely soaked sector three.

then the crew with Vergne and Adrian Sutil were looking at 25.0-25.5 in S1 and 28.3-28.8 in S2.
Meanwhile, the Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonso group was stuck in the 26.x range for S1 and 29.x for S2.

So, I guess it’s safe to assume the faster drivers actually finish ahead...
Or who knows, maybe the maestro was just warming up to crush the final sector by 2 or 3 seconds just to show off.

I want to actually watch a race—watching Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Mark Webber, or even Nico Rosberg fighting their way through from the back? That’s how you get a real race. 😍

Ferrari looks like they have the best race pace when things stabilize, though Red Bull was right on their heels from the jump.
As for Mercedes, they looked terrible, so I wouldn't be shocked if they slide down the standings again just like they did in Barcelona...
I’m really pulling for Valtteri Bottas to hang in there until the end and finally snag some points for Williams...

P.S. What do you guys think? Will they actually extend the grid so Romain Grosjean can start 29th😬 or will they just stick him in 24th?🤷
