Gmail notifications?

Is there some kind of program that would let me know when I've received mail on Gmail?😲

I don't see why you need sirens going off or lights flashing or cannons firing just to get noticed when you've got this Skype. 😢

You’re hilarious—I guess I might have misspoken. Isn't Skype meant for chatting, much like Skype?

Yeah, I guess, but with those settings, you get an Outlook Notifier popping up to tell you there's a new email, yet you can still message other users directly or send photos just like on Skype. You basically get to choose what you want to do. 🙂

While you're logged into Gmail, just go into your mail settings (top right corner). Under the "General" tab, you'll see an option for desktop Notifications. You can toggle on just the email ones or include chat too; just keep in mind those notifications only work if you're using Google Chrome 🙂

Wait, can't you just set that up directly in Microsoft Outlook?? Does it actually give you an alert when a new email hits the inbox?

Man, I didn't even think about using Outlook as a POP/IMAP client 🙄

Thunderbird pretty much handles all the Gmail setup automatically. 😍

Just make sure you've got IMAP enabled in your Gmail settings 😉

Honestly, Google Talk... it’s an absolute necessity. It’s just so refreshingly straightforward and actually does what it claims to do! ☕
