It isn't a direct comparison, per se, but they are weighing the PWM against various ratios of chocolate milk containing sucrose versus Surge, which leans heavily on glucose... and most importantly, they arrive at a conclusion that actually benefits the general public—something that absolutely infuriates any major supplement manufacturer in this country.

That’s something those big-shot sports nutrition brands absolutely hate.

Spot on...

Anyway, circling back to protein—anyone interested in this deep dive into the endless whey vs. casein showdown?

Nobody really answered me, so I’m gonna try posting this again.

Which shop in Canada has the cheapest whey protein if I order it to be delivered to a small town in the Midwest so we can just pick it up by car?

edit -

I signed up on Amazon and tossed three tubs of whey into my cart. Now looking at shipping options, it says USPS to the US is only 5 bucks. Is that actually for real? That’s literally cheaper than the gas it would take to drive to a small town in the Midwest...

Which supplement shop in the Midwest has the cheapest whey if I want them to ship it to a spot near St. Louis so we can just swing by and grab it in the car?

Can you be a bit more specific about who they are and how their process works? Also, what’s the damage if I grab it in Canada? I need this sorted by Friday since one freebie isn't cutting it.

Everything you need to know about ordering is right there in their FAQ—they even have screenshots to walk you through it:

http://www.prosport.net/hr/Faq.aspx

It usually takes them about 1-2 business days to process everything, depending on whether the item is actually in stock. If you get your order in during the morning, it’ll likely be at the post office by the next day. That local branch over in suburban Chicago stays open until either 5:30 or 6:00 PM, if I remember correctly.

Which online shop offers the best deal on whey protein if I want it shipped to a small Midwestern town so we can just pick it up by car?

Edit -

I signed up on Amazon and tossed three tubs of whey into my cart. Now looking at shipping options, it says "US Mail to my area" is only $5. Is that actually possible? That’s cheaper than the gas it would take to drive out to that small Midwestern town...

Sure, but you forgot to factor in customs and sales tax. Shipping rules aren't the same as when you're just driving goods across the border yourself.

It usually takes about one to two business days. If the item is actually in stock, you can typically expect it to be dropped off at the local FedEx office by the next day if you order in the morning. Most of those shipping centers stay open until 5:30 or 6:00 PM, give or take.

They’re open until 6:00 PM. Just make sure you check their holiday schedule so you don't end up knocking on a closed door.

And which specific products are you looking at?

Whey

Thanks for the info everyone, but honestly ProSport is garbage compared to ON or Dymatize Elite, so I'm just gonna hit up the Amazon team.

Here's the email I got from the Amazon team:

Hey there,

You can order through us and we'll ship it to a USPS location in Topeka under your name... you just pick it up there and pay on arrival... If you order today, the stuff should be at the post office by tomorrow. Your package will be held there for up to 15 days...

Here’s some info regarding your order:
If you want us to ship the package directly to your address in the US:

Shipping is $5 if the order is over $130; if it's under $130, shipping is $9.80. Also, per US regulations, when you order items via mail, you can only import up to $53 before hitting customs; anything over that means you have to pay a 30% customs duty on the package value.

If you pay us via PayPal (card), we can put a lower invoice in the box so you only pay tax on that smaller amount. We can drop the invoice by about 60%.

If you want us to send the package to your nearest USPS location (for example, if you live in Washington, D.C., we can ship it to Topeka and you pick it up there under your name):

Shipping is free for orders over $50; if it's under $50, shipping is $4.80. When you pick up the package, you'll still owe a small processing fee—it's $0.96 for values up to $100, and 1% of the total for anything over $100. If you're physically carrying goods across the border yourself, you can bring up to $333 per person tax-free. So, if there are two of you in the car, you can bring $667.

Looking forward to working with you.

Best regards,

Amazon team

FlexShop ships out the same day, so you can grab your stuff by tomorrow... whereas ProSport takes a few days to get things moving.

Better delete this message to FlexShop before some Customs agent gets their hands on it 😁

Essentially, you're paying them the full amount via PayPal—say, $130 for three tubs—but they declare the package value as only $65. Then, you get hit with customs duties and taxes based on that lower $65 figure. In plain English, you’re effectively throwing away about $30 on unnecessary fees. That's basically the cost of an entire extra tub just wasted on the government.
It would be wise to delete this post, as describing illegal activity like this isn't exactly smart.

Quick question—I totally blanked on getting a toll pass. Do I seriously need to grab one just to head out toward the border, and how much is that gonna run me? :|

Sam Roberts said:You should probably take that letter from FlexShop down before some Customs agent gets their hands on it. 😁

Why all the panic? Even if he does read it, what’s the worst that happens? When you cross the border, you just show him the receipt, and he'll let you through since you're under the limit anyway. $333Look, I don't see the issue here. Telemarketing isn't illegal anywhere, and that’s exactly what this boils down to: you buy it, they ship it, and you receive it. It’s a standard transaction. Maybe you should just drop Flex Shop an email and suggest they pull the listing from their site, just so their customs agents don't catch on to the fact that they're handling exports.

You aren't crossing any lines here... it's just a package you're picking up in New York City. Why wouldn't they be allowed to handle exports? The issue isn't the shipping itself, it's just that they lie about the billing... they can send stuff abroad just fine, just like Amazon and all those other online shops.

Maybe send an email to the shop asking them to pull it from the site so US Customs doesn't catch them exporting.

That’s exactly the point. I’ve already reached out to them regarding various nonsense posted here on the forum where people are linking themselves directly to them.
This needs to be taken down immediately, and I have no idea why the admin isn't stepping in.

It’s because Amino isn't working on FlexShop... I honestly still don't get why this is even an issue. These guys at Flex aren't suggesting anything illegal. If Hong Kong weren't so damn far away, I'd just order my stuff from eBay and have it sent to one of their local shipping hubs to pick up in person. But it's never convenient.

This feels like being told you can't let Alex confirm a receipt at a border crossing in rural West Virginia just because you might end up getting a tax refund from the folks in Maryland.
