Not necessarily, if you're eating things coated in sesame seeds 🙂 or a seed mix like flax, sesame, and sunflower.

Well, I guess it really just depends on what you're trying to get out of it... like, what's the goal here?

So, I was scrolling through some fitness boards online and saw people tossing grape juice into their protein shakes, so now I'm kind of wondering if I should be doing the same thing with this one?

Have you actually read up on why people even bother using it?

Well, that's one way to start a conversation, I suppose. Not exactly much to go on, but I'll take it. kaže:
I mean, I really hope this thing actually works, right?🤷

The idea behind mixing grape sugar into your post-workout meal along with some whey protein is actually pretty straightforward. You’re essentially looking to spike your insulin levels, which acts like a key to help those proteins get into your cells more efficiently. At the same time, you're using that sugar to quickly replenish your glycogen stores that you just burned through during your session.

I'm not entirely sure about the exact ingredients in what you picked up, but if it happens to be this:

So, at the end of the day, that has absolutely nothing to do with the whey itself and isn't meant for Post-Workout Nutrition, which means trying to pair it with grape sugar is pretty much a pointless exercise.

Hey there!

I've decided to order some protein from an online shop over in Europe (FlexShop), but after doing a bit of digging, I've got a question.
I'm looking at getting the 5lb tub of Optimum Gold Standard Whey. Locally, here in the States, it usually goes for about $176, but if I order through this site—including shipping to my place and the sales tax—the total comes out to $137. Since that doesn't even account for potential import duties... I'm wondering if it's actually worth it to buy from them at all?

There are some people on Craigslist selling stuff ordered from Canada, but their prices are a bit higher than what you'd pay there. Or if you can just hit up the nearest post office in Canada... might be worth it.

Got it, thanks! Which post office is closest to me, and how much would the round trip cost? I'm in Chicago and don't have a car, so I'd probably have to take the bus...

edit:
Found some listings on eBay for $117 which seems like a pretty fair price to me...

if you don't have a ride, maybe check Craigslist instead

Yeah, I just spotted it on Amazon. No clue why it didn't cross my mind before I hit "buy" $90 for 908g of protein. But hey, it was my first time ordering this stuff, so I'll let it slide 😁
Thanks for getting back to me so fast!😉

Man, I can't even count how many times I've picked this up stateside. Honestly... I think there might be some recommendations floating around here about where to buy, or maybe check that fitness forum

jadetiger962, I’d love to get your take on something. I’ve been using Dymatize All Natural Elite Whey in vanilla. It’s sweetened with stevia, which is huge for me since I try to stay far away from artificial sweeteners whenever possible. Just a bit of context: I’m a woman, and I hit the gym six days a week—three of those sessions are runs. I usually mix my protein into some yogurt with a banana in the evening. Any advice? Am I doing this right, or am I totally off base? Thnx

Bananas at night? Not really, unless it's right after a workout. Mixing protein into yogurt? That actually sounds pretty good. 😁

I actually think that's a great idea 😳 😬
Obviously, I'm just talking about having a banana after hitting the gym, so no biggie 😉

Here’s my personal recipe for bodybuilding pancakes. I actually entered this into the poll giveaway, so if you could do me a solid and just click the photo to give it a like, I’d appreciate it. I'm currently fighting for second place and need the boost.
The full recipe is in the link below.

If you're having it right after a workout, you're fine, though you might actually see better results if you paired it with a more substantial meal.

Hey everyone, I could really use some advice here. I’ve just started getting into a fitness routine, and while I'm naturally quite thin, I have this stubborn little belly area that I just can't seem to shake. A few months back, I picked up some supplement liquid, and now I'm sitting here wondering what on earth it actually does and if it's even safe for me to be drinking it. The label says "CARNITINE LIQUID (100% USP L-Carnitine Supplement)." Does anyone know what they're actually selling in these bottles? Thanks!

jadetiger962 said:If you're hitting that right after a workout, it's fine, though honestly, grabbing something a bit more substantial might be the better move.

Like what, though?
I usually just grab some eggs, cottage cheese, or a can of tuna when I need something quick.

Any college students here eating at the campus dining hall in Chicago? I love hitting up that cafeteria because I can just grab those chicken fillets without any extra sides. It makes tracking my calories easy, and the protein hit is more than enough for me.

Does anyone have a rough idea of the calorie or protein count for a breaded chicken fillet, some stuffed chicken, or maybe a serving of fries?
