Well, you didn't exactly call me. 😛 Not that you would have actually shown up, mind you, but I didn't even get an invite. 😁

I personally wouldn't be caught dead wearing shorts in tall grass—but hey, if that's your style... 😬

I wouldn't even bother mowing 😁 you’d just bring me a lounge chair and I'd sit there watching you work, then I'd help with the raking... by which point the grass would already be cut anyway.. 🤷

Is it really worth all that effort? 😁 If you were to bring me a lounge chair, I’d just sit there and wait for you to finish mowing the lawn, and then I’d get started on the raking... by which point, of course, the grass would already be cut. Wouldn't that be the simplest way to handle it? 🤷

I accidentally dropped a whole bag of potatoes meant for the grill... of course I did.

I mean, alright. That doesn't really bother me 😁 😛 I'm not Patty. I would've actually done something about it.🤣

Rough day for McLaren. Really rough.
In a season like this, where we've seen four different winners in five races, plenty of people (including us) are feeling pretty lucky just to get this much generosity.
Lewis has already been paying the price for other people's mistakes; he’s going to need a serious amount of composure to sit through this one without losing his cool.

Mark Webber drove a flawless race. I don't know what the secret is, but there's definitely a reason for it. Indianapolis Motor Speedway really suited him.

Jaime Alguersuari 👍.

Lewis Hamilton and Mark Webber both had subpar starts compared to their rivals. They only got lucky because they were right near that first turn and everyone else was playing it safe.

Michael Schumacher was averaging a full second per lap slower than the winner!

Can someone give me a quick rundown of the race? Also, what exactly went down with Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel? 🤷

Lewis Hamilton had a tire blowout just two laps from the finish.

Sebastian Vettel dealt with some brake issues.

Honestly, the rest of the races don't really matter at this point.😁

So, when they cleared the start, the order stayed pretty much identical to qualifying until Grandpa took over... Felipe Massa jumped up two spots, and Jaime Alguersuari managed to slice through six positions. Robert Kubica dropped back a bit. It was just steady laps until the first round of pit stops... Lewis Hamilton managed to get past Sebastian Vettel after the pits. Button lost his spot to Grandpa right as he exited the pits, and then he spent the rest of the race just chasing him down—though Grandpa always had that solid defensive line going.
Near the end, Sebastian Vettel went a little wide, had to pit for new tires, and ended up falling behind Fernando Alonso. We heard over the team radio that his brakes were acting up, but man, he was still absolutely flying in that car. 😬
Then, on the very last lap, Hemic had a tire blowout. 😁
Anyway... there’s basically a lap-by-lap breakdown there 🙂

The short version:
- Lewis Hamilton managed to jump Sebastian Vettel during the pit stops, pulling off a dramatic maneuver right as he overtook Virginia.
- With about four or five laps left, Vettel makes a sudden dive into the pits. He looks a bit unsteady wandering down the pit lane while they swap his tires. Once he's back out there—sitting in fourth, just behind Alins and twenty seconds ahead of Michael Schumacher—the team starts hammering him with warnings. They tell him he has to slow down because his brakes are reaching a critical failure point. Despite those warnings and the lack of any immediate danger, Vettel keeps pushing, staying within half a second of Schumacher.
- Then, in the penultimate (or maybe even the final?) lap, Hamilton suffers a front tire blowout and ends up crashing straight into the tire barrier.
- Fernando Alonso essentially inherits second place through no fault of his own, leaving Sebastian Vettel to settle for third.
- Meanwhile, Mark Webber drives a race entirely for himself; nobody could even touch his pace, leading to an absolutely dominant victory.

Exactly. 🤣

What’s actually interesting is that we still don't have a clear answer for why Sebastian Vettel was struggling, nor what caused Lewis Hamilton's tire failure. 🤷

To be fair, just watch the footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-p_-PI9qS0
Lewis Hamilton is on the right exiting the pits, with Sebastian Vettel coming down the track to his left, and there's some Virgin driver ahead of them in the turn.

What’s actually wild is that we still don't even know why Sebastian Vettel was struggling or what caused Lewis Hamilton's tire blowout. 🤷

so Lewis Hamilton probably had that tire pop because it just took too much abuse... I mean, you know they were saying at the start of the Grand Prix of USA that the front left takes the most beating, and since we all know Lewis Hamilton treats his tires like absolute gold, it doesn't surprise me one bit that it finally gave out 😬
but there's zero info on what happened with Sebastian Vettel 🤷

Basically, MGP is still slow—and I mean painfully slow compared to Red Bull.
Ferrari is still lagging behind Red Bull, but are they slower than McLaren too?

How did Lewis Hamilton hold his own against Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber? 🤷

Is Webber faster, just as fast, or way slower during the race?

Joshua Newman2 said:Right. 🤣

The weird part is we still don't know if it was Vettel's issues or just Hamilton's tire blowing out. 🤷

TBF, check the footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-p_-PI9qS0
Hamilton is on the right coming out of the pits, Vettel is right there on his left coming down the track, and there's some Virgin car ahead of them in the corner.

🤷Vettel froze up. 😢He should've just squeezed him out and called it a day. 🤣

Nobody got penalized, right? 🤷

I mean, they shouldn't have been. Hamilton took his chance, and Vettel just couldn't handle it.😢

Mark Webber was absolutely dominating the race, maintaining a comfortable gap while being smart enough to nurse his engine and tires. Sebastian Vettel just didn't have that same level of control—he was complaining about balance issues afterward—and Lewis Hamilton managed to stay close enough to jump him during the pit stops (which you saw firsthand). Once Vettel lost that position, he wasn't really a threat again, but there was zero action between the leaders; it’s pretty clear this track simply doesn't offer much in the way of overtaking opportunities.

Regarding the retirements, if we assume Hamilton’s tire failure was a result of pushing too hard, it stands to reason that Vettel’s brake issues followed a similar logic. We might get some clarity on the technical specifics in the coming days, but honestly, we may never know the full truth.

Ferrari is still trailing behind Red Bull, and honestly, I wonder if they're even keeping pace with McLaren.

I was thinking about how Lewis Hamilton held his own against Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.🤷

Is Webber actually faster, just as fast, or way behind when it comes to race pace?

As it stands right now: Red Bull leads, then McLaren, then Ferrari, and MGP is somewhere down the list.
Over these last three weeks, Ferrari hasn't really made much headway, and neither has MGP, even though
Michael Schumacher mentioned that he’s finding this updated car much easier to handle...

If it hadn't been for that blown tire, Lewis Hamilton would have finished second, which means on a dry track, he's the only real threat to Red Bull.

He spent 40 laps stuck behind Michael Schumacher, much like how Sebastian Vettel was trailing Lewis Hamilton or Robert Kubica was stuck behind Adrian Sutil.
He rushed through the pits with the same frantic energy we saw from Vettel, just without the backing of Virgin.
