Now I see how many people jumped ship after testing and actually voted for Sebastian Vettel in the poll.

I didn't cast my vote just to participate in some little test; I did it out of pure, unadulterated hope and a desperate sense of optimism that someone might actually manage to take down Mercedes...

I was watching the second episode of the Grand tour last night, and Jeremy Clarkson mentions that Kimi Räikkönen broke some kind of unusual record this season at the Mexican Grand Prix... 🙂
Apparently, he held onto his champagne bottle during the podium ceremony longer than anyone else, sipping from it for almost two full minutes... 🙂

Then they joked that the guy was probably just thirsty because "he did not have a drink for 2 hours"... 🙂

According to this, here’s the horsepower breakdown for 2017:
Mercedes - 949 hp
Ferrari - 934 hp ( -15 hp)
Renault - 907 hp ( -41 hp behind the Mecca and - 27 hp behind Ferrari)
Honda - 860 hp (in a massive hole...)

Could actually be spot on...

Why don't I see any clear dominance from the Mercedes engine here?

Are these rough estimates including or excluding oil burning?

The data doesn't seem quite right to me either; both Ferrari and Mercedes were blathering about figures near 1000 hp last year, weren't they?

My prediction for engine power in 2018—specifically the Mercedes vs Ferrari ratio—is that it will mirror last year's table perfectly. In other words: equal!

Mercedes' engine also holds a massive edge when it comes to fuel efficiency, which is honestly just as critical a factor during a race...

Maybe that's why you've seen Ferrari outperforming Mercedes in almost every race lately, while Red Bull is right up there with them, posing a serious threat to the whole setup.
