So, how do I actually deal with that message popping up at the end of the installation? It basically said everything was successfully moved into the Windows registry...
Can I just run CCleaner to clear that out, or is there a better way?

Anyway, thanks so much for the help!!!

He probably just stuffed some junk into the Windows registry (like file paths and stuff), so you might as well just wipe it out. You could run something like CCleaner afterward to catch any leftovers. It can scan the Windows registry and flag all those "empty" entries if you want. Honestly, though, I wouldn't even bother. It’s not worth the effort since none of it is actually vital. Just hit delete and move on. 🙂

EDIT: Is that a Skullpturin rip?

Yeah, that’s definitely a total rip-off...

Yeah, I went ahead and ran both Delete and CCleaner—and honestly, from what I can see, everything is looking great!!!
Thanks again...

Why don't you try this quick test just to see what happens? Open one of those "troublesome" images in Paint, go ahead and hit Resize (make sure you select Pixels), type in a new resolution, and save it. Then, just try opening it again with a double-click to see if it works fine.

I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate, and I’ve hit a wall with a problem I just can't seem to crack. It’s driving me a little crazy. Basically, whenever I open my photos in the standard image viewer, they look like I'm viewing them through some weird yellow tint or filter. But then—get this—as soon as I switch over to the slide show mode, everything looks perfectly normal again! Has anyone dealt with this before? I could really use some expert advice here. 🤷

Could someone please assist me? I try to launch a game for the first time, and I get an error stating "you must be administrator to run this application for the first time."

The thing is, I am logged in as an administrator on my account, so I definitely have the permissions.🙄 I tried right-clicking and selecting "run as administrator," but nothing changed. I even attempted running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP—though I suppose that might be irrelevant—but it still failed.

Still happening! It's only with photos from my phone. Everything works fine in Microsoft Paint. DAMN!!!!😠

How can I get my menu to look like the one in this photo—you know, those floating icons that just hover on the screen, whether they're at the top or bottom?
Is there some kind of gadget or a specific little app for this?
Thanks 👍

Everyone keeps saying Windows 7 only takes up about 5 or 6 GB of space, but I decided to mess around with the 32-bit Professional version yesterday and it’s sitting at a solid 8 GB on my drive.

My apologies if this has already been covered—I’ve searched everywhere and turned up nothing. Anyway, does anyone have a decent mail client for Windows 7? Windows Live keeps freezing the second I try to compose a new message... is there any fix for this?

With Thunderbird, I can't seem to change the POP incoming mail server settings, and the lack of a contacts sidebar compatible with version 3.1 is driving me crazy.

I gave Pegasus a shot—it's an absolute nightmare to navigate. :-/

Then there was Opera Mail—most of our clients aren't set up for it, and the mail client lacks both incoming and outgoing read requests entirely.

Please, I need some advice before I lose my mind.

Thanks much.

So yeah, Windows 7 (32-bit) is taking up more than 8GB, whereas those random 5.8GB files people talk about are just the core OS files themselves. Basically, you're gonna need at least 16GB of breathing room, though honestly, aiming for a 20GB partition is probably the way to go if you don't want things getting cramped.

Here is a screenshot of my C: drive.
Basically, Windows 7 (32-bit) takes up over 8GB, while those unidentified files account for another 5.8GB just to store the OS itself. You're going to need at least a 16GB drive, though I’d personally recommend aiming for 20GB to be safe.

This shot shows how much space Windows 7 plus all the essential daily software takes up (Office, BS Player, Adobe, dw4, PS4, Norton...)

I’ve been running Windows 7 for several months now, and honestly, it’s been smooth sailing—zero issues whatsoever. Everything is working perfectly, and I can easily hunt down all my own drivers if I ever need to. If anything goes sideways, you know I'll be right back here to weigh in.

A lot of people on these forums download all sorts of sketchy, ripped junk from the web and then wonder why their system is acting up. You really need a clean version—ideally an original ISO or at least a decent crack from someone who actually knows what they're doing.😢
That's where all the issues in those posts above are coming from..

hmm nothing's showing up..🤷

which Windows version are you running (7100, 7600)?

try going to My Computer/Organize/Layout and check the box for Menu bar. once that pops up, hit help then About Windows/that's where the version info is hiding

Which Windows version are we talking about—7100 or 7600?

Try going to My Computer/Organize/Layout and checking the box for the Menu bar. Once that pops up, hit help and then About Windows—that should tell you the version.

It's version 6.1 7600—pretty sure it's the RTM build. I've successfully activated it on a few computers already, and they all show Windows is Activated under system properties. But here, someone used some sketchy activator that just bypassed the 30-day grace period without actually marking it as activated...
