I actually think the one bundled with the K-Lite codec pack is pretty solid. I’ll admit, Home Cinema is an eyesore, but damn, it looks good. Honestly, if it can actually handle the file, Windows Media Player 12 gives me the best—let me rephrase that, the most beautiful picture

Windows Media Player 12 handles most formats just fine, but it tends to stumble when you throw high-definition video at it, though honestly, it’s hardly surprising given how much they seem to struggle with anything remotely modern.😂 Now, while MPCHC might not be winning any beauty contests, the kid absolutely crushes the competition in terms of performance, but if you’re looking for something with a bit more polish and a decent UI, you should probably go with Splayer. Under the hood, it’s essentially the same engine but with updated features and a clean look that lets you stop worrying about playback issues, especially since all those extra codec packs are pretty much redundant anyway.😁😉

If I reinstall GomPlayer, the guy won't even play DVDs without begging for more codecs—so I let him, he finds whatever junk he needs, I install everything, but nothing—it just shuts itself down. It’s like it’s embarrassed it can't work—kind of like how some people act when they can't get it up and just feel awkward about it. 🙂 ).

It just shuts itself down, acting all shy about the fact that it can't actually work (kind of like how someone gets embarrassed when they just can't perform when you need them to 🙂).

I’m telling you, but hey, don't listen to me. ☕ 😁

Honestly, I'm not surprised—it feels like they didn't exactly put much effort into how those files actually handle playback.😂 Look, MPC-HC might be pretty ugly to look at, but man, does it absolutely crush the competition. If you’re the type of person who really cares about having a sleek, polished interface though, then you should probably go with Splayer. Under the hood, it’s basically the exact same engine, just with some upgraded features and a much cleaner look. It works so smoothly that you won't have to worry about a thing—and honestly, those extra codec packs everyone talks about? Totally unnecessary.😁😉

Check out this link for Splayer: http://www.splayer.org/index.en.html

Honestly, I don't think MPCHC looks ugly at all.

Splayer is actually pretty similar, but honestly, it feels like it has some genuine improvements. It's not just about the cleaner GUI, either—I've noticed it handles certain file types that this one struggles with, and it seems to open files much faster on my machine.

I've gone and managed to lose my login password for my computer.
Does anyone know if there's a way to recover the password, or am I looking at a full system reinstall?

Thanks.

Is there any way to reinstall the OS or just recover the password?

Thanks.

Maybe this will help you out.

The real issue here is that I can't even get into the administrator account.

While Splayer is admittedly similar, it seems to have some actual improvements, not just in the interface, but it also handled certain files for me that this one couldn't, and honestly, it feels like it opens files faster.

How can you think Splayer is reading things differently than MPCHC when they are essentially the same engine under the hood, just wrapped in different skins?😁 If you ran into an issue where a file wouldn't play, it was likely just a corrupted video or some other typical Windows glitch. I’ve used MPCHC to open just about every format imaginable regardless of the resolution, and even those old RealPlayer formats like RMVB worked perfectly fine as long as the files themselves weren't broken.☕😉

"What to do if you forget your Windows password" (paragraph 2)

Read this article, download a tool like the one listed under #1, burn it to a CD, and boot from it.

Let me know how it goes. 😉

I actually just went ahead and reinstalled it to test things out...

🤷It’s not that it "doesn't read" them; it’s more that it just doesn't recognize certain files recorded on my phone... Splayer and KM Player pick them up without any issues, though GOM only handles the video part...

And honestly, Splayer feels noticeably faster. I'll try opening a file first with MPCHC and then immediately with Splayer, and Splayer always wins the race. Plus, it seems to handle slightly corrupted files a bit better than the other one... 🤷

Does anyone have any insight regarding automounting and getting Daemon Tools Lite to launch automatically on Windows 7?
I’m not planning on disabling UAC just to make this work—definitely not happening. But essentially, I can't get it to behave; Daemon Tools Lite won't launch on its own when I boot up Windows, and it isn't automounting my disk images either.

And just so we're clear, I'm not disabling UAC for this—not happening. Basically, it’s just not working; Daemon Tools won't launch on Windows startup, and it isn't automounting the image either.

Maybe try something like this 🙄

Alright, does Daemon Tools launch automatically for you on Windows 7 while UAC is still turned on?

I have a pretty similar setup myself—plus I've got it set to autostart.
But I don't have the "image in Use Check" enabled.

Look, I definitely know my way around the Daemon Tools settings—so if anyone actually knows more than I do about this...

Man, what kind of nonsense are you even into? I can't even believe it

It's pretty obvious that Daemon Tools and Windows 7 aren't really your thing.

Are you absolutely sure about that?

Because on my Windows 7 64-bit machine, Daemon Tools Lite isn't just getting by—honestly, sometimes it feels like they actually love each other, if you know what I mean?😂

I have a quick question for you guys...

I'm using WMP on Windows 7, and lately, it’s being super flaky about loading certain songs... specifically everything I've downloaded since a certain point. It’s weird because sometimes they show up, but then they just vanish again later.🤷

Alright, I’ll just come out and say it—I actually have no clue what a backup even is.

It wouldn't be such a disaster if Windows 7 wasn't acting on its own whims by deciding
to run some sort of backup once a week (or whenever it feels like it) and dumping an image file (or whatever you call it) onto my D: drive. It's already piled up about 20 or 30 gigs of this stuff.

Can someone please explain this to me in plain English? What exactly is a backup, does my computer need to be doing this once a week or more often, and what am I even supposed to do with all these files?

😕😕😕
