Just wanted to share my recent nightmare with you all. I used Partition Magic 8 to scan my system drive, and it did a great job identifying a bunch of errors and "fixing" them... naturally, now Windows 7 won't even boot. To make matters worse, recovery mode and a full reinstall aren't working either. Apparently, the partition is showing up as "unallocated" now...

God dammit. 😢

It’s pretty common knowledge that Partition Magic 8 tends to mess up partitions on Vista and Windows 7 🙂 You just didn't get lucky, I guess 😁

It’s clearly stated right there—the last version of Windows that actually plays nice with the PM8 is Windows XP. You really just need to give the readme a quick read. 🙂

HELP!!!
My computer keeps shutting itself down—it's driving me a bit crazy. It looks like the processor is overheating and hitting over 80 degrees Celsius.
The second the CPU climbs past 81 degrees C, the whole system just cuts out. My processor is an

Why does my computer keep rebooting itself after exactly two hours of uptime since I installed Windows 7?

I don't think it's a Windows 7 issue.

The heatsink? 🤷

It’s because you're running an RC version. Maybe try living in the present and grab the full version that came out ages ago. 😁

Maybe it's because you don't have a valid Windows license😬

Hey there,

For the last two days, I’ve been getting this notification popping up every single time I boot my system. My gut tells me it might be some kind of virus, but I want to know if there's a way to fix this without having to go through the nightmare of a full Windows reinstallation.
I have my system set to German, so the error message reads like this:

"Problem beim Starten von winruq32.rom.
Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden."

The thing is, this winruq32.rom file that supposedly won't launch? I have absolutely no idea what it is...

Well, I'm getting "winpiw32.rom" with the exact same message—basically saying the module won't start.

It's probably a virus—I was running around without any antivirus software for a bit, just browsing the web, and when I finally fired up my antivirus, it actually wiped out a virus with that specific name. Now, it keeps complaining that the module can't run. From what I can tell, Windows 7 doesn't even have a module like that, but I'm still digging to figure out what's actually going on.

I’m leaning towards the same conclusion—some kind of virus snuck its way in there. I just really hope there's a fix that doesn't involve a total wipe and a fresh install of Windows. Besides, I can't even track down that winruq32.rom file anywhere online.

Maybe running a System Restore to a point from two days ago would do the trick? 🤔

Hey there!

So, I see people asking how to ditch that annoying-as-hell pop-up on Windows XP, but can anyone tell me how to kill it on Windows 7? 🙂
The OS caught on that my license isn't genuine, so now I've got this lovely, persistent "not genuine" notification bugging me. To make matters worse, it keeps nuking my wallpaper, leaving me staring at a black screen, and constantly throwing alerts about being a victim (well, yeah, I am 🙄, a victim of all this damn modern tech)...

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks in advance, sending love :* 😁

Look, you can buy genuine Windows 7 if you want. As for anything else, we don't really cover that kind of stuff on this forum; I guess Google is probably your best friend there. 🙂

Hey there!

I'm putting together a new PC build, and naturally, that means a fresh OS to go along with it. Since this hardware is pretty cutting-edge, I finally need to say goodbye to Windows XP 😢

I've been browsing some retailers, and it looks like Windows 7 is available in 32-bit versions through Home Premium, Pro, and Ultimate.
Each tier seems to be about $100 more expensive than the last.

For an average user who mostly spends their time surfing the web and gaming, would the Home edition be enough to get the job done?
My gut tells me I should probably just grab the middle ground and go with Pro.

Hey! I need to get into my internet connections so I can manually enter an IP address and those default settings.

How do I navigate to that in Windows 7? It's urgent! :/
