I was wondering if anyone here might have some insight into what truly helps cleanse those specific areas of the body. I know people constantly rave about how great mucus is for the lungs, but if you ask me, its thick, slimy nature just ends up feeding the very irritation we’re trying to soothe. I'm looking for something that actually purges and cleanses—something akin to using Epsom salts for the digestive tract.

Does anyone know if there's an equivalent remedy for the solar plexus and the gut area?!?

I feel like the question is a bit misguided, honestly. There aren't really any teas that can target and "clean out" specific parts of your body—unless you head over to Alternative, where they claim you can cleanse everything from your pinky finger to your thumb if you're feeling fancy...

When it comes to stuff for your lungs, you're basically looking at two different camps: things that help you cough stuff up and things that actually suppress the urge to cough. Since they do the exact opposite, you really have to pick a side depending on what's going on.

I can't say much about teas, but when it comes to expectorants, people usually reach for Advil or similar over-the-counter stuff. But here’s the thing—neither Advil nor any herbal tea is going to do much if you aren't staying properly hydrated. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids (assuming your doctor says it's okay, of course). It’s also super important to do some deep breathing exercises and just stay moving physically to help clear things out.
