Will my nail fall off?

So, I went and completely wrecked my nail yesterday, and now the whole thing is this deep, bruised purple color and just absolutely throbs... It’s not like I broke the finger or anything, it’s still intact, but the nail itself is just totally blue and the pain is constant, non-stop, all day long.

Is that nail definitely going to fall off now? And if it does, when can I actually expect it to happen naturally without having to go see some doctor to have them rip it out? Honestly, the pressure under there is insane... it feels like the whole thing is just about to burst right off my fingertip.

Oh man, I had this absolute nightmare where my recliner slipped and landed right on my big toe! I was screaming my head off from the pain, honestly...
Eventually, the nail started lifting at the base and just ended up falling off completely. A brand new nail finally grew back in, but it looks so weird and uneven now—kind of bumpy and just plain ugly, I guess.

Nothing’s actually deformed on my end yet, it hasn't gone all wonky or anything... it’s just turned completely black, even though it’s basically identical to how everyone else's looks.

I wouldn't say so.
But honestly, having a nail pulled isn't even that big of a deal; I've had it done twice on my big toe and everything turned out just fine.

Heading over to Mayo Clinic now, so we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out...

The doctor mentioned they might try some kind of drilling procedure, but she also hinted that the window of opportunity might already be closing since this whole thing went down yesterday evening...

It was honestly pretty brutal, they were drilling right into my nail and just squeezing out blood everywhere... I’ve got a follow-up appointment at the clinic in two days...
I mean, who knows, maybe the thing won't even fall out at this rate...
